  1. So the entire food court area is being redone?  That's a huge undertaking. I wouldn't want to be a guest there while that's going on.

    TCD

Yes. They will be undergoing a complete renovation. There are going to be some "grab and go" stuff there, but both Shutters and the food court will be closed as of 5/1 for 13 months. Certain things will be in place to assist the Caribbean Resort guests with dining.

  2. On a FB page they showed a nice wedding at the Fort, but it seems like they confined most of it to their site or maybe adjoining sites.  It looked like they had an area behind their site that they utilized also.

I thought I had read somewhere that if you try to do a ceremony in a "public area" it has to be run by Disney (but I could be mistaken).

This is true. If it was out in an open area, you'll have to contact Disney Weddings unfortunately.

  3. Unfortunately, it's a lot more difficult than you think. "Somebody" local and with ironclad access to the Fort needs to have real ownership of the cart to take care of said repairs, make sure it doesn't get stolen, etc., etc. What about when it's time for new batteries? The controller blows, the steering goes out, the charger gets lifted? Believe me, several Fiends have discussed this in person over the years, and it's just not practical.

Trust me I know. I've been trying to figure this out myself for a while. And I have access to the Fort at any time.

  4. That was fast.

Maybe they will add shows instead of only performing it four days a week one show per night?

    TCD

Schedule will not permit at the moment. They are tight with the other parks fireworks times as is. The only time they added a second show is during a 2 week period in April. (Spring Break) Doesn't mean that won't change, but in looking at the talks, it doesn't look like it will happen.

  5. With all the Fiends that stay at the Fort and have a lot of overlapping reservations, the cart lovers should chip in and purchase a couple of carts that move from site to site as Fiends come and go.

Kelly loves planning and spreadsheets, she could make up a schedule and figure out who has them and when.  They could be like a co-op that you buy into.  Everyone interested chips in and splits the purchase price, then maybe kick in a small monthly fee for maintenance or a minimal rental fee when you are there using it to cover maintenance fees.

A bunch of us used to do that with an old bike we bought out in OK when we were in training.  It had a chain and combo lock, and when you went out there you could use it and leave it for the next guy.

    They could be painted purple!

    I love this idea.

I haven't tried Kenny yet, but I do have a 3 week stay come Christmas. I might try with him.

  6. A heads up to anyone who is at WDW today . . .

That secret showing of ROL for tonight that I mentioned yesterday ain't a secret anymore.

It's on the official times guide now and there are Fastpasses available for it.

    Hurry!

    TCD

I can say officially the fast passes are at 87% gone. They will be doing this over the weekend but only will release FP+ on the day of.

  8. I think there's a good chance that there will be AP and DVC previews in the next week, and maybe some performances open to everyone.

    TCD

They will not have cue lines however they will be handing out 2000 wrist bands to AP, DVC, and some regular guests.

TCD - contact me for a moment. I have a question for you.

They will have some great surprise days for DVC members and AP holders in the upcoming days til the grand opening on the 17th.
