However, on the new MH I drove home from Knoxville yesterday, I was very impressed with how quiet it is.

Well folks, little did you all know but we were trying our best to join everyone for Thanksgiving. We had reservations checking out on Wednesday the 26th but needed to have at least through the 28th to make the trip viable with all the other issues trying to coordinate everyone's travel schedule. Sadly, it was just not to be.
Jason busted his tail for me and I can't thank him enough for the effort. I highly recommend using him! He is a great travel agent as well as a great Fiend!
We will still be in the area and are going to try to make a day trip over but plans are still pretty much up in the air. Hopefully, we will be able to get over to the Fort and meet some folks. As soon as I know when we will be over, I will post. I will be keeping an eye on the plans and campsite listings and maybe we'll see some of you.

Movies at Grumpy and Grandma's! Beautiful rig! Enjoy.

Checking everyday for you. 4 times or more.
I know you are doing everything you can! I certainly appreciate that. It is one reason that I fully support using a TA for something "seemingly so simple". But due to the complexity of the Disney system, they have made this anything but simple. Thanks for all that you do!

I'll bet that a travel agent will be able to get you a Thanksgiving reservation.
Mine has told me she thinks that they will release the Thanksgiving hold on sites this week. A travel agent could pounce on those for you.
TCD
Jason is on the case! Crossing my fingers as we will probably not come down unless we get the rest.
Hoping to see you if we do.

I'm with you. I am still holding out to complete a reservation this year for Thanksgiving. I have the first part of the week but have pretty much lost hope that I can get any extra days. A lot of that is my fault but it is really ruining the magic for me going forward. I keep trying to get our family camping again and keep coming up with blanks. I went to drain the trailer last night since we hadn't used it since May. It is more of a pain to keep it when I can't even go to the Fort.

Here is another article in Fox News that discusses tie-in with Apple Pay and Magic Band Swipe. One commenter asks will Apple device be able to replace Magic Band? That would be pretty cool.

Carol,
I don't fly too often out of ATL anymore. To answer your first Q - yes you can easily get from Untied counter and DL counter in the terminal. Once you pass security, you can reach all flights whether DL or UA. The only exception to this may be if your flight on DL is originating in the new terminal F (international - not likely)
Can't recommend hotels in area. Most of the park in fly's on camp creek dr. are competitively priced to each other and efficient. I would plan 20-30 minutes from parking to drop off at terminal.
I believe typical security wait times at that time of day would be around 30 minutes but I really only know what I hear on local news as I haven't experienced it in person in quite a while.
Good luck!

We are probable but won't be definite until much closer to Memorial Day. We will likely book up front and keep our fingers crossed that the stars align and we can make it.
If we come, we will likely bring our Pontoon over from Lake Allatoona also.

I will chime in with my recent experience. While I think most of the opinions here are in the right direction to not pressure wash, I had a different situation than most.
I have an older '06 fiberglass sided TT. I recently used a pressure washer on it and was very pleased with the results.
However, keep in mind the following. My decals have been junk (badly peeling/disintegrating) since the 2nd year I owned it and Keystone was of no help. Also, mine had over two years of neglect without use so was extremely dirty. Simple washing wasn't going to do it.
First of all, TEST ON AN INCONSPICUOUS AREA.
I did make sure that I used a less aggressive spray tip and worked the area slower. I did test the most aggressive tips and found that it would rip what was left of my decals off (actually a good thing in my case). I was not able to detect any sort of damage to the actual finish of the glass or seals, etc. I did a very thorough leak inspection before during and after.. It turned a two day job into a 4 hour job.
I would only do this again in similar situation. For normal washing (after reapplication of wax, etc.), I would always hand wash.

It has been a few years since we tried some but the Hess station across from DTD actually had pretty good pizza. Also, there is a Flippers in the Crossroads Plaza just outside DTD. disclaimer-since I am from the South I am unqualified to give pizza opinions.

LOVE IT!!!! I still have some of that software in a box somewhere.

WELCOME, used to live in Port St. John and Cocoa Beach.

Absolutely, perfectly normal or is it abnormal, I can't remember but I can see what's behind me, I think..... :clint:

We have stored at both Three-way campers and now Allatoona Landing Marina and Campground. We have never covered ours and it shows. Of course, the crappy decals Keystone uses and refused to honor their responsibility for doesn't help with the appearances.
I like Allatoona because it is on pavement and I can get to it 24/7. They do have some security but not as good as Three-Way. I didn't like trying to get to it there after hours although I could have them pull it out for me and put in parking lot and then we could just drop in lot and they would return it to it's slot.
I would love to have I'm Down With Disney's deal......

I vote for panhandle since we have never camped there. Otherwise we would prefer Lake Lanier. We would also be able to bring our 24ft pontoon to Lanier.
I would hope we try to find a place a little more reasonable....<$50 per night. Gas is a killer.

Well. Since it is all about bob!

Sams has a real nice stainless steel two burner grill that I have had my eye on for less that $100. Also, it could be converted to low pressure so it could be connected to a tap on your TT gas system after the regulator on the main propane tanks. Very neat. I have one that I use a small 20lb bottle. but something else to lug in and out at setup. Avoid the cheap steel ones, they won't last more than a season. I have one (no name) that is cast aluminum that cost somewhere in the mid 45-50 range several years ago.

Already home :gaah: BUT WE HAD A GREAT TIME. Too many things to do and not enough time. Really wanted to spend more time just hanging out with the fiends but we never stopped running from Friday night until we pulled off the site 2 hrs after checkout today....
Ready for the next one!

Stone Mountain is good. You would probably also like Indian Springs State Park in Jackson.
Actually when I said High Springs I really meant Indian Springs (they are very close to each other). We have stayed at Indian twice and really enjoyed it.
There is a stream at the front of the park that you can wade into and sit in the rocks on a hot day. Really refreshing...... This place has a ton of history and they have been doing that for hundreds of years there.
They have a lake with beach and small boat rentals (peddle boats). Great little bar-b-q joint call Fresh Air BBQ just down the road which was very good.

Thanks Fiends, Stone Mountain is one we are considering. Just booked a 3 night stay for this/Memorial Day weekend at the KOA in Chattanooga (Lookout Mtn/Chattanooga West). We have a wedding up in Chattanooga on Saturday, so hopefully this will work well. They had one spot open and, after talking with the owner Brian, it sounds like it may be a decent visit. Praying for hot temps so the kiddos can use their pool! :)
We have been there. It is nice but out of the way. The time zone changes back and forth between there and chatt so keep that in mind. They have an old time drive in theater just down the road. They had just put in a bouncing pad when we were there and we couldn't keep the kiddos off all weekend. I do remember needed a lot of lumber to get the trailer level. May have just been the site we had. They were doing a lot of site improvements while we were there. The people running the campground were super nice and even came out to help us get set up.

does it have cabins??
no but there is a complete hotel and resort on the property.

Please consider coming!
Kelly,
Let's do this one at Lake Lanier Islands. Prices pretty reasonable.

Our two favorites are Red Top Mountain State Park and McKinney Corps of Engineers park both on Lake Allatoona. All of the COE campgrounds we have stayed at have been fine. We stay at Allatoona Landing Campground (privately run) since our boat and trailer are stored there.
We have stayed at high springs state park near Macon which is really nice. Other further out favorites are Cloudland Canyon State Park and Unicoi State Park. We have stayed at Fort Mountain State Park with scouts and it was nice but I can't address RV sites. Another place that we stayed one time was Plum Nelly in Elijay. Nice little family park. Very convenient with for the Apple festivals and picking.
I know there are some really nice places on Lake Lanier. I have driven through the Lake Lanier Islands campground years ago and it was pretty nice.
We have also stayed at a little campground attached to the Camping World location in Chattanooga South several times. Cheap and clean.
Any specific Q's just let me know.

Ray,
While true that Dollywood is dry, you should consider that just up the road a short distance is Gatlinburg which is home to several Moonshine Distillers which have FREE sampling and believe me, that is a "theme" park in it's own right.... :oregonian_winesmiley:
