  1. i am glued to the weather channel, packing extra ponchos, socks and shoes. Praying for the best for everybody there now and for us next week. We are only able to visit every 2 -3 years so hopefully everything works out.
  2. what are your thoughts for next week? we are flying down tuesday (hopefully)
  3. Our favorite is Fall Creek Falls State Park, It has some great scenery, biking-hiking trails, swimming holes, and they just added a zip-line
  4. We did a 2 week trip in 2011 but we didn't take the camper. We flew into Las Vegas and rented a car. Did the Grand Circle tour then drove to Yosemite and back to Vegas. It was amazing. It snowed the day we got to Yosemite so just got to see a little. Really want to go back.
  5. My family of 5 stayed 7 nights in 2 rooms at All Star Sports March 22-29. We linked our bands, fastpass+, reservations, etc, Had no problems whatsoever (except getting the kids up and moving in the morning). We rode all our favorites with fastpass+ with little waits, most were 10 minutes or less. Rode other rides with waits of 30 minutes or less. Rode single rider with little wait. I was very worried about how the new system would work, but I was very surprised and pleased. Our only disappointment is that Garden Grill Restaurant wasn't rotating.
  6. Has anyone stayed at Edmund Babler state park?
  7. Thanks Judy. Just read your report. Looks like a good time. We like exploring, historical sites, forts, homes etc. My husband is a retired farrier so the Clydesdales will interest him, also the Lewis & Clark exhibit. Six Flags, maybe
  8. Trying to get info for trip this fall. Right now leaning toward St. Louis. Any good parks, campgrounds near? Also any interesting things to see, good places to eat between there and Nashville? We plan on going to zoo and like historical sites. Any help, ideas, suggestions appreciated. Thanks!!!
  9. Could someone tell me the price for the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, GF? The one with Alice and Mary Poppins All I was able to find was a price of $15.99 - $35.00.
  10. We don't have an ocean site and I was hoping that maybe with the cooler weather the mosquitoes might not be a big issue, But we do intend on bringing bug spray, maybe a gallon or two? lol
  11. We are camping at James Island for 3 days then Hunting Island for 3 days. Our adult daughter will be with us and she loves New Orleans, that's one reason we thought we would like Savannah. We plan on visiting Fort Sumter and Fort Johnson and doing some biking and walking tours. Any suggestions for restaurants?
  12. Thanks Brent!! I really appreciate all your feed back and ideas. I looked at Husk and Blossom but my husband doesn't like "fancy" restaurants, ie, ones with tablecloths or where you need reservations, lol. Will have to save that one for a girls trip. No children with us on this trip just our adult daughter and she refuses to eat at any "chain" restaurants on vacation, on local fare.
  13. Hello, Scott. I don't post much, usually just lurk, BUT...... we are planning a trip to the Savannah area next month, any pointers, suggestions?
  14. So far it looks like we will head out early on Sunday, September 29th. It's about 500 miles from here (middle TN) to Savannah. First stop, Hunting Island for 3 nights, then on to Charleston for 3 nights at James Island. Hoping to do a lot of exploring by bicycle and foot. Mainly the historic districts, forts, cemeteries and parks. Any reviews of Hominy Grill, Tatooed Moose, Jestine's, Rita's, or Taco Boy. We are not really big fans of seafood. Thanks again!!
  15. We own horses and my husband is a certified farrier so we tend to avoid horses while on vacation. lol
  16. Wow!!! The Battery looks amazing. I googled it for more info and it is one place we will definitely check out. Question. Would it be easier for us to bring our own bikes or is there a place to rent them? Where could we park the truck for the day while we are exploring on our bikes?
  17. Thanks for the suggestions. We are trying to fine tune plans but it looks like our dates will be the last week of September or first week of October. Any special events going on at that time? We definitely plan on checking out some of the Forts and doing some walking and bike tours to see the historical districts. Any particular tour better than the other?
  18. We are planning our first trip to visit the Charleston area this fall. We are looking to spend maybe 3-4 nights at Hunting Island and maybe 3-4 nights at James Island. Any suggestions as to specific sites, area attractions, restaurants, etc? Or, are there better campgrounds in the area? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!!!!
  19. Love your trip report. My husband and I, along with his brother and sister in law, took a trip out west last fall for my husband's 60th birthday and his brother's 50th. They had been talking about taking a mule ride into the canyon and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. We flew into Las Vegas, rented a mini van and drove for 2 weeks. Saw Hoover Dam, Sunset Crater, Grand Canyon south rim (where they did the overnight mule ride), Monument Valley, 4 corners, Mesa Verde, Canyonlands, Arches, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon north rim, Zion, Yosemite and Death Valley. We saw a l
  20. Roz, do u do planning for disney cruises only or for other cruise lines as well? We would love to do a cruise for our 40th anniversary in 2013 and have been looking online for ideas, but since it will be our first cruise, it is a little overwhelming.
  21. Dave, I followed the story of your ordeal with adopting Anna on the local news, and when I found the Fort Fiends site I recognized your family. I have a granddaughter who started kindergarten this year and it's amazing to see how fast they grow and learn. It's wonderful to see Anna's sweet, smiling face and to know that she is happy and loved.
