  1. Just to say... Therapy dogs aren't considered official special need/service canines. So you may run into a CM who recognizes the vest for what it is and asks you to leave.

I believe that the only dogs allowed are active service animals as per law.

There are very important distinctions between service and therapy animals.

    -------

Therapy Animals are not legally defined by federal law. They provide people with contact to animals, but are not limited to working with people who have disabilities. They are usually the personal pets of their handlers, and work with their handlers to provide services to others, such as visiting patients in hospitals or the elderly in assisted-living care, help children learn to read, etc.

Service Animals are legally defined (Americans With Disabilities Act, 1990) and are trained to meet the disability-related needs of their handlers who have disabilities. Federal laws protect the rights of individuals with disabilities to be accompanied by their service animals in public places. Service animals are specifically trained to help just one person, and are not considered ‘pets’.

Not knocking the therapy dog, just stating official thoughts. Be prepared.

  2. Go ahead with the hijack all you want.

Yes, we have been to Yosemite. Only spent one day there. Don't know that I want to go back. I liked Yellowstone so much more.

I'd like to go back to Mariposa Grove…  I think I do.  Problem is, once we're there and realize Nope, we really didn't want to come back… it's too late eh.

  3. About 8 hrs if you go through Granite Pass. I think 6hrs if you take Powder River Pass.

But you have Devils Tower within an hour of that and Crazy Horse national monument within 20 minutes of Mt Rushmore.

You are also in the Black Hills, very close to Deadwood and somewhat near Sturgis.

  4. Our double rainbow was "all the way too", solid from one point, up through the sky and back down again.

I've seen double rainbows before but I had never seen an unbroken rainbow. It was impossible to get in one shot.

  5. Judy, we only saw a couple idiots. The strongly suggested distance from non-predators (bear) was 25 yrds. By far and large most stood at 75 yrs or more. I was surprised.

This was my fifth, Jody's third and Abi's second trip. It was very nice, we enjoyed it greatly but I have discovered the lack of planning pushes my anxiety issues. Camper issues stresses my husband. In hindsight the first trips are always bumpy. I learned what storage we had and how to maximize it after Stone Mountain. Jody has learned to upgrade his parts kit with a few additional items. He had basic tools but we just haven't tricked out this truck camper like our fifth wheel.
