. It was a long and full day. I think we made it back to the Fort about midnight.
Exactly why we're spending our week cutting school for Disney during Halloween and not Mardi Gras. Nicki had to keep propping toothpicks under my eyelids
-
There is one MPR moment that is so MPR we can only refer to it as that MPR moment.
Is that the text I got at midnight?

The photos tonight were awful. I had my phone, and they just weren't up to par. Better ones ahead. :)

So when we left off, we had just turned over Bruin to his new home owner. It was then off to the Boardwalk and Flying Fish for our very first ADR.
While waiting, the kids, Heathen1 and Heathen2, found one of the wandering magicians. As luck would have it, they were both chosen to participate. It set our trip off to a great start. Last year Mardi Gras was during President’s Day week. It was crazy stupid busy Team Louisiana does not do crazy very well. So last year was slightly stressful and probably our least enjoyable trip to WDW ever. This one made up for it in spades.
A few of the kids goofing off.
And then we were able to check in. I love the theming to this restaurant. I love the Boardwalk. It’s such a carefree place. If you haven’t been there, they have this huge soft green lawn that is hardly ever used but it is perfect for resting and watching the night sky. One of my favorite places in Disney is the Fort at night. It just comes alive. The Boardwalk has this same feel. It’s a community embracement. Anyway, my second place. I wish I had gotten a photo of the lawn. It’s great. :)
Lawn hijacks and all, here’s the restaurant and our meal. Fish rocks! It was a lovely meal. Pear martinis rock! All is right in Mama’s world again.
I had forgotten the camera in the 5W, so pardon the blurry camera photo. It doesn't do the inside of this restaurant justice.
Pear Martini's
FOOD!!! And it was so good.
Our appetizer, calamari and shrimp. We were so hungry, I forgot to take photos.
The sides: risotto and the mac/cheese. So good!
Tuna. Seared hot on the outside, and a cold pink on the inside. So good.
It’s been a long day and half, so off to bed for tomorrow’s adventure.

I think its kudos? Or was that just the name of the snack bar?
If not, it should be. Fuego Kudos!
I am on to much nyquil to remember. I think you are right though.
Yup, Feeling you there. It's been a long week.
I'm here too.
Going to sit back and enjoy the dueling TRs.
So, we now have it on record who the slacker in the family is. :clint:
It's probably me. I hate to relinquish the camera so he doesn't get as many turns as he should.
In on this one also.....dualing trip reports....
YAY!
Ah, now someone knows how to start off a Trip Report with the right photos. :D Thank you.
They are adorable. I would go get them snacks too if I worked at the check in.
They're hams. Love them to bits. Once you go cairn, you never go back.
I'm in. Don't let Lou know you want Disney to know that a CM is doing something nice for you. It's almost magical how those doggy cookies appeared. Lol
You caught that huh. I was hoping he would to.

It has been noted that my wife was correct.
You would have been responded to much quicker had she given you the correct phone number to text me with. I am also invoking the MPR about bedazzle!
You are a boy. You cannot invoke MPR.

I agree that they were skimping on the BACON. Shardi also told the waiter she wanted a pot of Kona coffee but only got a pot of standard coffee. Saved me several dollars and the waiter lost out on the increased tip. His loss, my gain.

Thanks everybody. Ill get this show back on the road tomorrow.

I'm about to knot my cat's ears.
He won't shut up.
I'm still tired. Haven't done squat. Don't plan on it tonight either.

And I knew it was going to be a wild ride when your first words to me practically caused me to choke on my food, then rendered me speechless and left me with pink cheeks. :rofl2:
That just came out completely wrong. I think if I slowed down and thought about it, I'd have had pink cheeks to but what the hell!
I really blame my husband for that one.
-
In! I'm kind of sad the girls might split up for a bit. But awesome sauce they're able to have these choices. Sounds like Mom and Dad did a great job raising them.
:)
-
I knew it was going to be a wild ride when Nicki said here, text this guy and later that night, look over, meet Kim eye to eye before she practically chokes on her food.
-
Kim, Ufa was Friday morning.
I don't think they meant for me to take it and run. But I did.
And the rest of my time was spent wishing little kids Happy Ufa!

Carol did a T-Rex hand on TOT this morning

I should mention, we began our trip on Thursday by driving up to Shreveport to pick up the boxer for our journey. :)
-
LOL Jason, you are! Also my very first TR.
-
So here we go! The second version of the O’Neal Mardi Gras.
We began the trip on Thursday, the 7th. I was delivering a boxer to a friend’s daughter who happened to be a cast member on property. His name is Bruin and he was a rescue from a mutual friend of a friend in Shreveport, Louisiana. Glad we could start our trip off with a good deed.
As Jody said, we were shooting for a 3PM pull out time and as luck would have it, we kept to that time the closest we ever have in the past. Typically our MO is to plan on 4, leave by 9. So far we’re starting off fantastic. Along the way we have particular stops we always make. Raisin’ Canes is always our first pit stop. It’s four hours from home and has the best chicken fingers you’ll ever taste. Cane also happens to be the owner’s dog’s name. Do you see a trend? :)
The furry members of our family settled in well. I usually take photos of the kids too but this was the second trip with our pups, and I was more concerned about building their own album. Mostly the camera stayed in it's place until we arrived the next day.
Our driver, still driving.
We spent several hours chitchatting before stopping around midnight on the east side of Pensacola, somewhere. Just a few hours from our destination. :)
After a rather forgettable overnight stop (the best kind, no drama), we completed the second leg of our trip and finally realized we were here!!!! WELCOME HOME!
Immediately I start spotting our favorite bus. Funny how it’s the little things that get you so excited. For me it's the resort transportation that is zipping around me. The monorail track, the many buses. This also started a relentless search for our favorite bus driver. I finally succeeded but that comes later. For now it was various whiplashing around as each bus passed me.
Is that you, Lou?
Looouuuuu! I can’t find you!
Eventually I have to stop stalking the bus drivers and focus on our entrance into our favorite home away from home.
But we were momentarily delayed. And by momentarily, I mean at least fifteen minutes between these two dog lovers.
This was the guard. This is a photo of the guard grabbing the other guard's attention so she could fawn over our puppies. She wasn't much of a dog lover. Or maybe she was a cranky guard. She didn't much look at the VIP four footed guests. Oh well, her loss.
Did you know our pets are served hors d’oeuvres at reception? These two had an early check-in meal courtesy of a very magical CM. I really should write Disney with my appreciation. Perhaps the kids will give it their paw stamp of approval. :)
The CM leaving our vehicle not to get our KOTW card. Oh no. She went back for cookies. Liver flavored doggie cookies. I'm not sure how they know Pluto, Pongo, Purty, all 99 dalmation puppies, Bolt or any number of forgotten dogs here, but they certainly pulled some strings. They were immediately Very Important Puppies.
After we got to the site, we set up camp, called our CM friend and waited to relinquish our boxer charge. :)
That's it for now. Up next is our first meal and night's entertainment. :)

The potential tags are flying fast and furious in this thread.
*chokes*
Oh the tags were riding a great weed whacked pony on Friday. You just don't know.
But alas MPR.

IN! for the heckle of course. :)

And *WE* didn't do anything quietly.
*YOU* were quiet.
I was laughing until I nearly peed.
Your son was howling that it wasn't funny.
