  1. We have always "planned" a trip to Knobles but never made it.  We moved away when the babies were just 3 and now when we go back we always seem so rushed to visit everyone.  We are headed back up North in June for my nephews graduation and my parents just sold their house today....No place to sleep w 5 kids.  I may have to find a camp ground somewhere.. ooh that may not be a bad idea but there are none at least on the NJ leg, may get to try for the PA half.  The place I really want to take them is Hershey.  Maybe next year.

Marty, We were probably in College the same time.  I graduated in '93.  DH finished with his Masters in Chem from Lehigh in '94 or '95.  Were you ever in the Ho when Senatra guy was there?  He would put like $100 in the juke box and play NOTHING BUT Sinatra all night. Thought we would die those nights!  Oh brings back memories!  Damn I'm old too!

  2. Small world.  DH graduated from Lehigh with his Masters.  We both went to DeSales for under grad on the "other" side of the mountain.  Used to frequent the Tally Ho on occassion and another bar a few blocks down can't remember the name of that one.  I consider Bethlehem home and get that warm and fuzzy feel when ever we go back.  Have you been back any time in the last couple of years?  It has changed quite a bit.  Tearing down a lot of the Steel and they have been transforming it into a a big commercial outlet including a Casino.  We haven't stopped in Bethelehem in a long time always stay in Allentown with family and then we are stuck don't get out much once we get to the family's house. LOL.  We'll have lots to talk about in October then!!

  3. Hopewell, that's only a little further North from me.  I spent tha last years of schools in Delran and Moorestown then college in Lehigh Valley, PA. Stayed after I graduated until we moved here almost 7 years ago.  I miss Bethlehem and Musikfest, but I am happier here.

Shamokin Pa, St Edward's Catholic Church, the first church in the world to have electric.  Don't ask me why I know that.  We went to a wedding in Shamokin once.

  4. Now we live in North Carolina right off 52.  If you pick up 52 South off of 77 up at the VA/NC line.  52 into 85 into Charlotte.  Just on the other side of Charlotte we pick up 26 then I95 South.  As long as you're not during rush hour Charlotte has never given us trouble.

Oh we pick I81 any day over I95 to head home to family in PA and NJ. Make that trip 3-6 times a year.  I do take I95 North when I am by myself with the kids a lot and I would much rather be on 81.

Can I ask where in Pa and NJ do you have family?  Hubs and I are grew up in NJ and I was born in Pa.

My husbands family is just outside of Allentown.  We met in college there, so Bethlehem area is where we stayed until we moved here.  I grew up in South Jersey just outside of Philly.  Everybody else is still there. So we travel back and forth "a lot". Where in Jersey are you from?

  5. Good job Rita. How long did you have to wear the halter monitor. I had to wear one for 3 days, no fun. Plus I am allergic to adhesives and ended up with raw spots where electrodes were. Hope everything goes well for you. :popo:

We just did a 24-hour one this time, I had a 30 day event monitor about 5 years ago. What a PITA! Thanks, I appreciate your good thoughts! I have a genetic heart condition, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, that's a mouthful ain't it! Dr. Hazday in Orlando is a specialist in this condition. I'm gonna get on my :D for just a second. This condition is usually what causes young athletes to have sudden cardiac death. Please, if your child's doctor says they have "a heart murmur" find out what is causing it, it could save their life! Lobby for AED's to be placed at your child's school.

Ok off my soap box and back to regularly scheduled hilarity!

I second that!  I also have a congenital heart defect.  Looking at my surgery within the next month or so.  Almost ended up in the hospital a couple of weeks ago so I have finally agreed to have it fixed.  It is very scary to think of what could have happened to me during my "active" years.  Parents have those kids checked, it doesn't hurt and its a quick ECG in the office that saved my life 15 years ago. Time for me to jump from the soap box too.

Now on with the TR.  It is GREAT!!

  7. Well said Jen!!  So much better to watch.  College games should be on now.

I'll be right back. I have to go poke my eyes out so I don't accidentally catch a glimpse of a Soft Ball game as I flick to the real baseball games. That goes for soccer too, and I'm a native European.

Party pooper !!  Love me some softball.  All 3 girls are playing again this year.  Just got back in after an afternoon of batting practice with just the family (well the boys slept in the backseat of the van).  Mom had a go at it too and I am still the home run queen as my DD stated!!

  8. I have a question 4 u, y is the yankee avitar upside down, I know I must be setting myself up for some snarky answer?

Very observant. I'm trying to come up with a snarky come back. Let's see, they suck. Almost as much as the Rays. Rays, what kind of a name is that? Isn't that a pizza joint in NY, Ray's Pizza?

Ya, I know, Deb's a Rays fan. What does she know, she's from that great baseball town of Buffalo.

You know, maybe if y'all would watch softball (fast pitch), you would have all this hate and bordem!

Well said Jen!!  So much better to watch.  College games should be on now.

  9. The Fort is booked for Halloween.  No pop-up again but we will be there.  Half the fun is planning!!  DH and I will be celebrating our 18th anniversary there too. Anyone else planning on the Fort for Halloween?  It has been 2 years since we have been and I have been in such withdraw.  Our trip 2 years ago was cancelled when my son was diagnosed and last years trip changed when my mom was so sick.  I am very hopeful that this trip WILL happen!  :rofl2:

Just out of curiosity, I looked today:  If you book October 19 - November 9, all four levels of campsites show up, so then just cancel the extra nights!!

We have our reservations from Oct 31 thru Nov 6.  Very Happy.  I will add the 30th I hope.  Thanks for the heads up.  We'll be staying in our new MOAT or condo tent.  LOL our new home away from home.

  10. I am in love with this idea and my wheels are spinning.  Any volunteers to watch 5 kids.....LOL!  Hope it is still around in a couple of years, love the idea for our 20th anniversay.

In the spirit of Fiendship, if I am down there when you are, I would not mind watchinig your kids for you to have time with your hubby. I'm sure my Mama and I could keep them entertained! You would have to keep them for the night though.

Thanks...so sweet.  We would leave them home with my in laws, not my first choice but....  I already ran the idea by DH this morning.  I think I was dreaming about it last night.  I have always wanted to do the Keys to the World Tour, Matt not so much.  He's afraid it would spoil the Magic. We'll see.
