  1. LOVE! me some bratwurst steamed in beer.. Who am I kidding I LOVE Sausage almost as much as bacon..mmm BACON!

The family loves their brats steamed in beer.  Serve it with cooked onions and peppers with honey mustard....oh I know what will be on the menu one night this week!  Oh and this is when I splurge on the better rolls to put  them on.

Now hotdogs, on the grill slightly to moderate burnt, on a bun with mustard katchup, cheese and pickle.  Anybody from the Lehigh Valley PA?  I miss Pott's Dogs in Bethlehem or Yacco's in Emmaus. :rofl2:

  2. Ok this is from my then 6 year old son with Autism.  He didn't talk much especially in puplic.

I was in my van following behind my parents car on the Blue Route in Philadelphia when my Dad's car needed a repair shop and fast...his steering belt broke.  Scary.

We ended up at some Pep Boys in front of a WalMart.  Mom and I took 4 of the kids to walk around WalMart while Pop Pop and one of the boys stayed with the car.  Well my son sees a couple of women walking down toward us and he points up at them and say

"Look Mom Ninja Moms!"  Yes they were in full black burkas.

  3. Tell him not to worry, there is 2 comfort stations per loops, we can surely work out a schedule   Can you imagine the looks on the faces of the campers during TOT if we all went together?? LOL  Priceless!

I don't remember there being a second comfort station in 1500?  We could work out a schedule.  Still sounds like fun!!!  We could have our own walking/CG parade for ToT.

  4. If mama get's her way (and I usually do) Oct 30 to Nov 5, whoohoo!

We're there Oct 31 thru Nov 6.  We arrive on the 30.  If they let us add the day on we will, no luck yet.  We'll have to meet up.  We are tent campers too.  Check out the GG thread.

That would be awesome, my 5, your 5, her 6.. that's a bunch of little bananas, we def deserve our own loop!!

:doublebeer:

Wow!  I don't get the opportunity to be around other big families!  That would be cool!!!

I can see the kids line up picture now.  LOL!  Hoping for the 1500 Loop! and you?

  5. We use the ToT against them too.  Jarred actually lost his privilidge to ToT 2 years ago because he just could not get his act together.  This child LOVES Halloween.  Not so much the ToT but walking around to see all of the decorations.  We started our family planning tonight by going thru a lot of the dining options with the kids to see where they would like to go.  Since most of will be at the Fort for ToT we should make that night a possibility for getting together.  after ToT or the kids would kill me!! Or before!

Here is another one.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't hear horror stories or bad reviews.  I looked for several days trying to find reviews but didn't find any.  I figured I would bid and Matt liked it too so we went for it.  I like the attitude if it was meant t o be it will.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqwusSZJLgM  here is a slightly larger version.  Love the idea that Matthew will be able to walk around!  After seeing this I was a liitle overwhelmed by the size.  LOL!! No more  she's in my space or his feet smell.... :D

  7.   Well we just solved our tent delema for October.  I won my first bid on ebay for our home away form home.  It is a huge 4 bedroom tent.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't take a week to set up.  I should be getting it within the next 14 days.  I have to settle the bill tomorrow thru paypal but the kids are very excited.  We can all be in the same tent yet it looks like we will still have some privacy.  If the tent doesn't fit on the site we can opt out of one of the rooms and set it up detached for storage if we need to.  This tent should be 20x20 maybe.  We have nbeen using 2 tents but I wanted us all together.  I am the one who gets freaked out.  Not so much at the Fort but when we camp elsewhere.  As soon as I figure out how to post a picture I will.  We also have our easy up screen room.

  8. Don't forget the Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets.  They are also available in an allergy free variety, if needed.  Either is a LOT easier than lugging boxes or bottles of laundry products, and a lot cheaper than buying the little boxes out of the machines.  And there is a closer WalMart than Turkey Lake...just down 535.  And the other way off 535 the closest store is a Winn Dixie.

I didnt know about those 3-in-1 things my last trip but they are numero uno on my list this year, and I actually did find that Winn Dixie and the other walmart on my last day.  Something went wrong with my GPS while I was down there, I've got that girl disability that can't follow a map or directions very well so I stuck with what I knew and it was a long haul for sure!!!  But now I know and I'm already planning for the October trip, so hopefully I can avoid all the little things that drove me nutty last trip :(

I have them on my list already too.    We have used the Meal Plan with all of visits in the last few years and this year we will be too.  This will probably be our last time since the quads are quickly coming "of age" in Disney standards.  No longer cost effective but we really wanted it this trip.

I usually pack in bins too whenever we travel.  I like the differnt bags.  What do you think about packing everybody's outfits in a duffle.  One duffle for each day.    The bins get old quick, but made more convenient.

  9. Chess i have no idea what your talking about. Please post a picture. Thanks.

On top of the Haunted Mansion there are chess pieces - couple of pawns, rooks, kings, queens, etc. - decorating the roof like mini-towers. The chess pieces are there because the building's architect and attraction's chief designer loved chess. The reason there is no knight chess piece on the roof of the mansion is because it is always "night" inside the Haunted Mansion.

Can you see them? I can.  :rofl2:

Cool!  A new trivia question for my husband!  I am gonna have to guess he WON"T know this one!  thanks!

  10. The last time we were able to camp was more than 2 years ago .  There were some health issues with several family members that have kept us home instead  :rofl2:.  We are so looking forward to our next trip to the Fort in October  :rofl2:.  I love looking at the pictures of other peoples camp sites.  It has helped me try to organize for camping trips in the past.  I have some questions for you all.

We use an electric kettle in the mornings for our coffee and to boil water for instant oatmeal for breakfast then off to the parks.  What other time saving and organization tips do you all have?  Please share you camping secrets!  Shower times, laundry tips, organizing clothes, tents you name it.  I hate waiting until the last minute....LOL!

  11. After looking at all the RV rental company's that set up the RV for you in Fort Wilderness this seems to be the best. The owner seems to really want to provide good customer service. After talking to him several times we will rent from him when it comes time. http://makecampingeasy.com/

Tried to go this site and it is closed.  It has a message on that is requesting the owner to call in.  Is he still in buisness?  Still trying to decide to rent a camper or buy a "larg" tent.

  12. ...Actually with the Lines app on my Droid this year, we cut down on a whole lot of walking by just checking that first!

What is that app called?  I want it!

Lines - put out by Touring Plan.  There's a freebie version and if you have a TP subscription you get full access to everything.

Just uploaded it now.  Very Cool.  I have the app by Undercover Tourist, but I like the info on this new one.  I'll have to look into the subscription, is it worth it?  I'll have to compare the information on them both also.  The kids take my phone everyday and pull up the Undercover Tourist to check it out.  Thanks for the heads up!

  13.   I saw you ask earlier if you can reserve the carts at FW?  Yes you can.  I just reserved ours for Halloween and the following week.  I may change it to 2 carts for the first 2 days and then switch over to the bus.  I have not called Kenny yet, I wanted to make sure we had at least 1 cart reserved for Halloween night.

We do not check in until Oct 31 but we planned to check in very early and come back later for our site assignment.  We want to go to AK that day and then come back and set up our site before we head out for Trick or treat.

To reserve at the Fort, more expensive yes, you do need a CC.  They do not charge it until you pick it up.  If you decide not to rent from them they want 24 to 48 hours notice.  If you decide to turn it in before your reservation is over there is no penalty.
