Congrats to Gabe, the new Kevin McHale :)

Gabe has had two official offers.  But it will be about a year before the serious offers arrive since he's an upcoming junior.  Meanwhile, he has 20+ coaches talking to and watching him, including Clemson, University of Georgia, Florida.  And one of the coaches from an official offer texts him every single day.   

Meanwhile his mom and the kids are moving back to SC so Gabe and Ethan can play at Dorman High School in Spartanburg.  They are a powerhouse.

After MSEP, David was tired and went back to the Fort.  And, as always, he didn't want me roaming the park by myself at night.  Especially since i was on an ECV.  But I was determined to get some nighttime shots.  It turned out they weren't so great either because of the rain.  I could pop my camera out from under my rain parka briefly and then stick it right back under.  I'd taken my tripod and remote control, expecting to get some great shots, but it just didn't work out.
When the parade ended, a huge crowd blocked me in.  And then they didn't move.  I've never experienced that before.  After a thousand "excuse me, pleases" and inching forward, I finally broke free and headed to Tomorrowland.


Then I made my way through New Fantasyland.





Then I got caught behind the carousel for Wishes.

With a tree right behind me.  This was the worst possible spot for fireworks pictures.

Eventually I could move past the tree and managed to get a few decent fireworks shots, but no way near the "professional" grade shots I was hoping for had it not been raining.

After Wishes, I moved on through Fantasyland.




I continued down through Liberty Square and Frontierland.






And then I got to the smoking area near BTMRR.  And my scooter stopped working.  It would go three feet and stop.  Go three feet and stop.  On and on.  There I was stuck in the far corner of MK.  I started to panic and thought maybe I should have listened to David.  I was alone and a long way from the Fort!
Almost immediately some guests came over to help me.  I jiggled some things, and suddenly it started working again.  So I thought I'd better skip Adventureland and get back to the Fort ASAP.  
So I made it back to Main Street.
 

I turned around to say goodnight to the castle.

Before getting on the boat I stopped at the restroom near the railroad station.  And my scooter stopped again.  And more guests came to my assistance.  Once it limped me onto the boat, I was very relieved!


I was home!
I had ridden that scooter hard all over EPCOT that morning and didn't charge it in the afternoon.  I learned my lesson.

Thank you all for your well wishes.  Xrays didn't show any obvious fractures, but my doctor suspects a stress fracture.  I have to see an orthopedist tomorrow.

We are on 75 heading toward Atlanta.  Will  be a long day.

Take your time. The only "no traffic" time through Atlanta on 75 is around 1:58am. Lol

We are  on 75 headed to Atlanta.  Will add 100 miles to our trip,  but we don't  have  to  deal with the craziness on 95.

Our last night ... cleaning the kitchen, washing/drying towels, cleaning the shower, etc.  In the morning I only have to clean the bathroom and pack the computer.  David thinks we may have time to eat at TE before we go!

Monday, 10/3 -- the Best Day!
Woke up, looked out, and were disappointed that we didn't see those two little smiling faces across the street waving at us!
This morning we went to EPCOT early.  Had breakfast at Sunshine Seasons  One last fling on Test Track, then rode The Land.  Went out to the entrance of WS to look around one last time, shopped at MouseGears one last time.  Didn't buy anything  We went there to purchase Mickey watches for each of us, but they were out of the ladies' version, and the CM couldn't answer our questions about resizing the band for David.  
Came back to the Fort for a few hours.  David put the "hairnet" on DeeDee, removed our tire covers, dried out our rugs, rolled them up, and put them away.  I spent the time cleaning up inside.  So much to do before we leave Wednesday!  I can't believe we only have one more day here..  So much to do, so little time.
Meanwhile our noisy neighbors all left this morning.   Ya'ay!  Life is now so much better in the 700 loop.
We had an early dinner at Trail's End, then went to MK.  Got to see MSEP one last time.  We are both so sad to see this parade leave again.  
After the parade, David went back to the Fort.  I stayed in MK for a few more hours.  Watched the fireworks from behind the castle.  It was weird.  Fireworks were going off in front of me and also behind me.  Not a great spot.
I continued on and went all around MK.  Took over 300 pictures today.  It's after 1am, and I don't want to go to sleep.  Today was a wonderful day.  I don't want it to end.

Today was supposed to be our last DHS day.  Then suddenly David decided he'd rather have lunch on Tuesday at '50s Prime Time instead of Liberty Tree Tavern.  So we'll do two parks the last day.
This morning NaCole and her family left.  We were really sad to see them go.  Her family is so much fun!  And we share the same values, which makes our friendship so much sweeter.
And today Cheryl, Jeff, Lynn, and George arrived.  They are just across the main road from us.  We look forward to visiting with them a few days before the Fort kicks us out.
Last night's rain has turned the Fort into a swampland.  24 hours later some of the sidewalks are still under water.

I'm sitting here quietly watching the Food Network on TV.  I'd rather be in MK, but not in this weather.
 

Had the same plan for MK...now sitting quietly, browsing the web, and listening to Must Do Disney. I know something must be seriously wrong with me, 'cause I never get tired of listening to Stacey!

Tuesday, 9/27:
I have given up on posting pictures while we're here.  The last few days, I can only get Photobucket to cooperate around 5am.  Too early while I'm on vacation!
Today we went to EPCOT to have lunch at Biergarten.  I really like it there, David not as much.  He thinks it's too expensive for what they serve.  What can I say?  It's Disney.
We watched a performance by Voices of Liberty.  They have quite a few new people in their group but were as good as always.  Then when we left a thunderstorm started.  We waited for quite awhile for the rain to slack up.
Then we did something we haven't done in 30+ years.  We watched Impressions de France.  It was really good.  Don't know if it's the original film or whether it's been updated.
Got back to the Fort in time for David to blow off the top of the motorhome before dark.  He has to do it about once a week because of all the droppings from the trees.
Am getting sad.  One week from now we'll be packing to go home.  It seems like we just got here.  I know we are incredibly blessed to spend a month at the Fort.   But it's never enough time.  In the next week we'll be trying to cram in everything on our to do list that we haven't had time for yet.  I big wish is that one day we can stay at the Fort long enough to get tired of it.  Maybe winter here.

A side note here.  We are driving to all parks except MK.  This is a first for us.  If I didn't have to use an ECV, I wouldn't do it.  Parking and walking to the tram stop and having to ride it in isn't fun.
But last year we had a hard time finding space on the buses for me.  One day we waited 1.5 hours for an EPCOT bus.
I got a disability tag from my doctor for this trip.  We are able to park in the disability lot which is just a few rows from the entrance.  
Every morning I take a pain pill and apply a lidocaine patch to my lower back.  I'm able to make it through the day, but by dinnertime I'm in a lot of pain and can barely walk.  And I crash shortly after because I'm just not up to evening activities.

We have a generator, but we have to go out in the dark to unplug our power cord in order to run it.  May have to do it soon.  It's getting stuffy in here!

NaCole arrived this morning, and she is right across the street from us!  Ya'ay!  David helped her out with a few things.  He had designated today as his driving day.  So he got in the car and ended up driving to Melbourne.  Then when he got there he turned around and came back.  Didn't even get out of the car until he got back and went to Walmart.
Meanwhile I had a great time at Disney Springs.  It's been a few years since we've been there, and I was blown away by the changes.  I took lots of pictures, but since TCD has posted such great pictures I won't bore you with mine.
This afternoon we dogsat Simon for awhile.  He's a sweetheart.

Then we went looping with NaCole, Simon, and the kids.  When we got back, Mikeypro came over to visit.  It was great to meet him.
We have no FP+s for the next several days and will be winging it.
