And I hate how those machines are always dripping when you are trying to get ice for the tea. Makes it hard to get clean ice without the drippings from the previous person's soda.

I hate how all the soda comes through the same spout.  I have an allergy to Red 40 which would be in any red, orange, or purple drink in there.  I have to run water through the spout to clean it before I get my Diet Coke.  After waiting in line forever for people to decide what they want.  My kids included.

  2. Hate we missed seeing everyone.  It was such a short trip!  We did get to taste lots of stuff at Food and Wine, got in a little time at MK, and finally got to ride the new Frozen ride.  I haven't stood in line an hour and a half for anything in a VERY long time.  I really liked the ride but the next ride on it can wait for a Fastpass!  Just before we left for the trip we found out some family members would be meeting us for part of the trip. Right after they left us Saturday evening they had a car accident so, although no one was hurt (so thankful!!!), we were a bit shaken and worried for them.  Thrill was able to get to them and help with support while waiting for the tow truck and to get them back to their hotel.  Even though it was a short trip, it was great to squeeze in one more trip before our passes run out.  AND, we got our passholder glasses!

  3. More info please!  Thrill Shakespeare, the Shakespearlets, and myself will be driving in Saturday morning the 29th and staying at POP til Monday morning the 31st.  Sadly, we could not get ressies at the Fort.  Our plan is to do Epcot and MK; enjoying Food and Wine and hopefully getting on the new Frozen ride.  Any details on when the GG will be and where?  We would love to pop by for a quick visit and meet more Fiends face to face.

Do pop ups have cooking space or are they pretty much glorified tents? How do you like having a pop up? I don't know anyone with a pop up- only rvs.

Here are a few pics of our pop up.  The outside pics are of our pup; the interior ones are from the one in the dealership.  This is on the thread from when we bought it.  We love it!  We have AC, a really usable sink and gas stove, and even have space in there for a small microwave.  We always take our panini too.

If it is glamping, then so be it.  We did our time in a tent so we REALLY appreciate this baby.

  5. Once you earn a couple of emojis you can click on settings on your phone, then general, then keyboard, keyboards, add new keyboard, select Disney Emoji Blitz, and Allow full access (still not sure how I feel about that one).  It guides you through using them.  They don't appear beside your other emojis; you have to click that icon that looks similar to the old Epcot logo.  If you don't get it the first time click ABC and then click the world thingy again and they should appear.  In texts you choose the emojis you want to use and then paste it in.

Even a big boat can get moving pretty good when the Gulf Stream is rough.  And all cruises out of Port Canaveral have to cross it coming and going.  This cruise was amazingly smooth.  But, we have been on some really rough ones.  Back in 2005, we sailed on the Magic the week of Thanksgiving. That first night, when we crossed the Gulf Stream, more than half the dining room did not make it through dinner, and guests were literally puking in the hallways on the way out.  That was our second DCL cruise, and I remember how badly the ship was groaning and creaking that night through the rough seas. It sounded like the ship was going to break apart.  But, it didn't.

    TCD

You're not making me want to book a cruise, man.

  7. I need a better Dole whip recipe.  The last one I tried didn't work out.  As for allergies, I can't do red dye 40.  You wouldn't believe what all includes it!  This past week i found it in salted caramel icing.  I thought I had read the ingredient list.  Oh well.  Glad I had Benadryl (strike that - Waldryl.  I have a hard time finding dye free Benadryl so I shop at Walgreens a lot.)  Kudos to Disney for working with families with allergies.  Our last trip we went to one of the Japanese pavilion restaurants.  I had no idea about what it might be in there.  They talked to me about my allergy, how severe (or not in my case - really unpleasant but not life threatening so far) and then brought me an ingredient list for everything on their menu.  The two managers even came by several times and asked how I was doing.

  8. Finally caught up!  Beautiful ladies, loads of fun, great family memories.  Keep it up!

My cruising experience is a one day cruise to the Bahamas from Ft. Lauderdale.  I puked all the way there, survived a crowded wild taxi-van ride to Port Lucaya, froze while we shopped, and headed back to lie down flat for the cruise back.   Go figure - the day after Christmas - right through the jet stream.  It explained the cooler temps and the boiling water sloshing out of the buffet tables.  The boat held about 2000 guests.  I know, it was a "small" boat.  Still, I just can't say "yes" to a cruise yet.

And please, when you interact with these young people, remember that most of them are college kids who are earnestly trying to do the best job that they can.  If you have a problem, I would bet that 99.9% of the time, it isn't something that young person is to blame for.  They work the front lines while the managers who make the unpopular decisions that may negatively impact your vacation are hiding in their offices.

Well said, sir.  I feel bad for what some of these kids have to endure from guests.

Great TR!  I loved reading along.

From what I could see in the various FEA ride videos that have popped up, it looks like they took the old ride exit and now have guests board there as well.  I loved that seaside village area.  Did it look like they just added to it?  Seems like a great use for the old movie theater to be indoor queue.

  10. We don't smoke, nor do currently any of our immediate family members. Some family members can't be around cigarette smoke for health reasons.  Being around it makes my head hurt and my throat feel like it is closing in.  That being said, I understand that it is some peoples' choice and those that do want to quit can have a very hard time doing so.  Banning it from restaurants and stores is fine with me - close quarters and hard to get away from.  In those instances, smoking patrons will not be there that long and can step outside to smoke it they choose.  At Disney, however, that is a full day's commitment for most people.  There needs to be several areas for smokers to use, but I would like to see them located in areas off by themselves - NOT pathways.  That way the smoke/smell does not bother others. They have some privacy as well.

Some random ballerina was having a photo shoot in front of the castle.  OK:

Ok.  Weird!  I had to zoom in a little on the pics to see for sure.  One of Thrill's just graduated seniors had pics made at GF and on the monorail around that weekend. She is a beautiful and an incredible dancer and had her pics made wearing pink and holding a pink Mickey balloon.  The photos were absolutely gorgeous!

This, however, was not "our" ballerina.  Not even close.

  12. I have a feeling it is just in the way.  When we were there these last few weeks no one was using it.  It just sat there taking up space.  Granted, it seems like more trouble to dig it out/fill it in.  Should have been done before the super busy summer season.
