  1. That's nicer than my house. If I had that, I could convince FWGirl to go fulltime.
  2. Just when I think Disney has come up with every marketing scheme around, they fool me. A whole program designed to brainwash foreign children with Disney products under the disguise of providing an educational service! These people are brilliant! I really want to be part of this! They're better than the freakin' CIA! So Lou - what's the gift? I want to know if it's worth my while to compromise my values.
  3. I will admit the crates fooled me at first, but I have figured this trick out.
  4. I encourage you to keep your crockpot on a picnic table out of the trailer. This not only keeps unpleasant cooking odors out of the camper, but allows me to sample it while you are at the parks. This is a free service I provide at the Fort. Don't worry about untensils, I carry my own spoon.
  5. We want to do January and February in Florida after I retire. I still have 6 or 7 years left. We bought our retirement home 16 years ago and should have that paid off by then here in PA. I like the spring, summer and fall here. But winters - not so much. I could live in our little trailer, but FWGirl couldn't. She has said she could probably do it for 2 months as long as it was a warm place in the winter.
  6. Yep, soak it in the husks for a couple hours and lay it on the grill. It's done when the husks are dry and starting to char. Watch it when you peel it, though, it will release some really hot steam.
  7. My first TT was an old Coleman popup that weighed in at about 1200lbs. I used to push it into its parking spot at my house all the time. My driveway was on a curve and it was kind of a pain to back it in the driveway, so one day I got the bright idea I would just back in part way, unhitch and push it the rest. So I backed in, unhitched and started moving it down the driveway. Did I mention my driveway was a downward slope to the house? That trailer started picking up speed and there was me, all 170lbs holding onto the tongue, digging my feet in trying in vain to stop that 1200lb trailer.
  8. I second the use of a surge protector. The initial outlay is a bit much, but it sure beats frying out your camper's electrical system.
  9. I had some problems pushing the Outback around until I filled the tires with helium. Now I can move it with just one finger.
  10. Its so cute though. My wife said that about me, and look what she ended up with.
  11. Went past it and it didn't seem really busy. We ate at POFQ instead and had a great meal.
  12. That's cause you are dealing with a higher class of people in Tennessee. In Pennsylvania, all the farmers come into the trailers and kick the cow shit off their boots.
  13. The reality at RV shows is that the units shown have factory incentives attached. You may not have much wiggle room with the dealers, and if you go to the dealership afterwards you may not be able to get the same price - factory incentives are gone. Poof. I have found the prices at show are pretty low. The drawback is you are buying the unit there which 500 people and their dirty kids have run through, jumping on the beds and dripping ice cream on the sofa. I have heard some real horror stories from people who picked up their units after buying at a show. That being said, I have heard man
  14. The only time it got to me was when FWGirl and I got fastpasses before we got in the regular line. Riding twice in a row was a little much for us. Had to sit on a bench for a while.
  15. This topic is what started the ball rolling for me getting banned on some other site - somebody asked if staying at the fort was worth it, and I said no. I believe the mouse is approaching that price where it just isn't going to be worth it to stay at FW anymore. If neighboring camgrounds are smart, instead of raising their fees to that level, they will keep the prices down and offer more activities to attract campers. If the mouse sees revenues falling and empty campsites during "peak" season, maybe they will rethink things. Either that or Bobby will use it as an excuse to shut it down an
  16. Epcot does have the best beer selection on property.
  17. The hospital I work for gave us a card for 25 bucks at Christmas. At first, I was excited - hey, I can take the wife out on the hospital. Then I went online and tried to redeem it and found out it was a discount off your tab at restaurants we never go to. So to save 25 bucks, I had to spend 50 bucks at a restaurant I didn't like. I guess if you can find a discount someplace you normally go to, it is worthwhile.
  18. I believe Keystone discontinued the Loft model. I, too, remember the guy at Voldemort with the loft. It was an interesting concept, but as I recall he said the loft area got really hot, and was a bit of a pain to open and close.
  19. The all white interiors were discontinued in 2009. They did keep the white upper cabinets in the the Kitchen, but all other cabinets and the cover on the refrigerator is a darker brown.
  20. I have a Keystone Outback 210rs and Dave just bought an Outback. Personally, I like the overall quality of construction and the materials used. We have been very pleased overall. When we bought, I couldn't come close with any other trailer in quality for the price.
  21. I always sit in the back of the bus so the driver can't see me and my friends getting into trouble.
