I try to bridge the two: Oct 31-Nov 8 is usually enough to get both Halloween and the first MVMCP. Not to mention the end of F&W! Perfect.

Ask for 361... It's a breeze (there will be video, right?)
That's not nice, Santa. Can you put yourself on the naughty list? The angle of that site, along with the fence right along the road makes it a bear to back into.
I think the easiest sites to back into are the ones where the curves in the loop road would allow you to have your trailer and tow vehicle aligned, and then you just need to back straight in. Some sites where this would work: 402, 424, 432, 540, 730, 801, 914, 1106, and 1307.

I know, I couldn't resist. 361 is probably the HARDEST site on property to back in. My honest advice, pick a site on the left (usually an inside site) because it's much easier to back to the driver's side. If the road curves to the right, all the better. I love 360 for this very reason... plus it's a great site to be seen from the road (I like to decorate). Plus it gives me a great view of the trouble in 361!!!

600 and 700 share a problem that is unique to them, they are not "loops" per se, they run parallel to the road, so half of the sites have the main road behind them and the loop road in the front. That does not lend to private sites. Both have some reasonably private sites, but I don't think it's a good percentage. The only thing that you've shared that makes 600 (and 700, for that matter) is that you don't care about convenient access to a comfort station, and neither loop has one. If privacy is a key factor I'd go for 800-1200.

As has been hinted at before, the key to blanket wifi coverage is not a powerful transmitter in a half dozen locations, but rather many dozen weak transmitters spread over the whole coverage area. We were at a major regional hospital recently and I was surprised to see these little $40 Netgear wifi repeaters plugged in everywhere. But that old, sprawling hospital had good wifi EVERYWHERE!

I still suggest that these drainage basins MATCH phases of development: DHS1 is currently developed, DHS2 appears to match the concept drawings we have seen for Pixar expansion, and DHS3 contains several existing areas that we know will be demolished to be included in the new Star Wars Land... Echo Lake being the one that really stands out to me. I can't imagine how Echo Lake can be themed to Star Wars and have '50s Prime Time still make any sense, it is not very close to Hollywood Blvd., it is way around the lake. SciFi is WAY into the area of the new development, too. I can only assume that the alley in front of ABC Commissary will become a themed area instead of a, well, alley. But what do I know? Frankly, I don't have a dog in the fight since I spend the least amount of time in DHS of all the parks. They can level the whole thing as far as I'm concerned, so long as they leave RnRC. I liked Mama Melrose, and Osborne was the best thing to ever happen to the place, now that they're toast they can burn the rest.
(sorry, feeling a little melancholy that I'll miss the final Osborne!)

I think we have pretty much decided to always stay our first night in Orlando at Sherwood Forrest... why pay a full day's price for a half a Fort day? Anyway, they are very close to Disney property and pretty reasonable by comparison. I don't think you'll find anywhere remotely close to boondock at. Tropical Palms is even closer (by about a block) but I've never been there so I can't really comment.

The part that concerns me is that in photo 3:
They divvy up DHS into three parts, which I assume are attraction areas: DHS1 is the current Studios, DHS2 is the Pixar expansion, and DHS3 is Star Wars? There are some things in each zone that cause some concern. Muppets could, conceivably coexist in a Pixar world. But Sci-Fi Drive-In and '50s Prime Time in Star Wars Land? Certainly I've heard the rumors that Echo Lake is getting re-themed to Star Wars, and that Indy is going, but SFDI, 50s, Writer's Stop? I hate the idea of losing Mama Melrose, OFSoDL and It's a Wonderful Shop, too, but I've kinda made my peace with those. Then again, maybe I'm ready too much into the "zones" in the map.

We drove the wrong way through the 700 loop one time (there were 5 sites occupied in the whole loop at the time us being one), boy did we get yelled out by a "ranger".
This last trip we were in 700 again and lots of people driving the wrong way. Oh well

700 is the only clockwise turning loop, so it's an odd bird to begin with.

At least it'll be open by our next visit... whew!

I feel I need to confess. Our last couple of trips we have been in the last couple of sites in the loop and I would spy out if there was any traffic coming out of the loop and, if not, I would dash in the exit and into my parking spot before anyone came around the right way. I know, lawless visigoth! I feel better having got that off my chest, though. But yes, none of y'all should do that!

We have Oct 28-Nov 15, but will probably drop a few days once the holiday schedules are released. We certainly want to be there for Halloween at the Fort, and 2-3 days of F&W, one (if not both) parties, and Osbor... oops, never mind. Anyhow, you get the idea: as much Halloween and Christmas as we can get in 2 weeks! Just before I start my busy season, which starts on 11/14 this year.

I know you book your site WAY in advance, so why not do the same with BOG?
I tried last year and never got anything. Crossed a personal ethical line and went to the hostess stand while we were there and turned on the ol' Santa charm and tried to schmooze my way into a table. Nope, even Santa doesn't get a walk up at BOG. IIRC, the problem was party dates were not announced until we were within the ADR window... the party is the only time we go to MK.

and it looks different on the site vs taptalk.... never mind....☺☕✨❤⛄⚽⚾⛳⛽⚓✈⛵⛲⛪ is that enough? Sent from my iPad using TapatalkYeah, not THOSE smileys, the forum-specific smileys. You know, these little beauties right here...
 :bravo: :bighug: :beathorse: :mh1:
And other forums have their own unique smileys, like these:

I've been using it for a number of forums for years, on iPhone and iPad. I love it. I miss the signatures and smileys, but the convenience outweighs those quibbles. And the picture hosting makes it easier to use on portable than any combination on desktop that I've tried.

Radio Disney... next to the old Sounds Dangerous set?
-
Zombie apocalypse? I'm heading to the Mexico pavilion. Steep steps, clear view of the field, tight choke point into the main building = easy defense. Plus, plenty of tequila and tacos! Worst case, retreat to Del Rio el Tiempo and fear not, everybody coming after will surely fall asleep!
-
Glad to hear it. Maybe one of these years we'll get to try BOG!
-
Are they going to be renting golf carts? How are you supposed to get around in that monstrosity? Way bigger than I expected!

I hear the new trash receptacles are installed in 1800 & 1900 now, wonder if they are putting them in non-Full loops?
-
Has anyone else seen this: there are new stripes at the front of pads in the 300 loop that, presumably, mean that you cannot park in the first two feet of your site. Saw the photo on FB, and would re-post the pic but don't know if that's kosher. Anyway, I'm wondering if this is coming to other loops, too?

My inordinately shy wife jamming out with the jingle bells.
In front of people.
Lots of people!
Good times.
First Permits Show Possible Expansion Changes For Disney’s Hollywood Studios
in Disney and Fort Construction

But TCD, certainly Idol & Sounds Dangerous will be re-themed, don't you think? I would expect ABC Commissary to go, too, or at least get a re-theme since there is no attempt to portray this as a working studio anymore, so this backstage, production-facility theme makes no sense. Sci-Fi barely made sense on the fringe of the backstage and the street scene, once those are gone, I can't imagine how they can make it work. Writer's doesn't make sense without the production-facility theme, either.
The only way I can see keeping '50s is to open up Prospect Ave and carry the Hollywood theme down that street (basically flip the front for the back).
Also, pretty sure the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Play Set is destined for the wrecking ball... probably half for each land, which makes the proximity of Sci-Fi even more difficult to justify.
And Starbuc71, they do show that they are going to fill and grade areas behind the current developed areas, so it's possible the park will expand a bit. What I'm concerned about is the "Future Osceola Parkway/Victory Way Interchange" which seems to be aimed to take out half of the existing parking. Perhaps they are planning for that to be a "fly over" above the parking lot?
But again, what do I know... I expected us to have a DVC at FW, a moved BYBBQ pavilion, and a relocated TCD Ranch by now.
