Nicki aka Rebelstand replied to Just Whipperwhirl's topic in Camping for Kids
We have one 19 inch tv in the TT. We took the Wii and DVD player. Apparently our kids prefer to watch Disney Cable if they watched any at all. However, the 5 year old dual screen portable dvd player for the truck was a life saver!! For music, I just open up the laptop and itunes. -
Limited experience here but we went this past June and then for Christmas. Early Morning Magic Hours!! That would be my biggest tip. I heard somewhere that late magic hours should be avoided as everyone wants to go to that park. My strategy is to hit everything we really want to do then relax for the rest of the day. Meander around and pick up the rest of the rides/attractions as we come across them..... only planning to ensure to be near the area of our ADR near time. Waiting for parades (if you plan on watching them) is a great time for one adult to skip off for shopping while the othe

If you have food allergies they will need to know. They were very helpful in finding things my son could eat (egg, tree nuts, peanuts). -

My favorite restaurant so far is the Yak & The Yeti in Animal Kingdom. The fried wantons were heavenly...heavenly... heavenly. Every trip we eat at El Pirata y el Perico Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. It's directly across from Pirates and somehow we are always at Pirates around hungry time. The vegetarian burritos is great. We also ate at The Plaza Restaurant. They had good American food. The Sci-fi Dine In Theater at Disney Holllywood Studios was a pretty fun place to dine. The food was typical american diner fare (hamburgers, etc) and the videos were really funny (old hollywood -
Were you there over Christmas? Seems like someone had a light post outside,a sign with a name on it, and the site backed up directly to the canal.... was that you? Preferred Pet. Although, our first trip to FW I think I'll stay there next time. It was really nice to be in quick walking distance to both a kidpark, dog park, and the settlement. As a matter of fact, you can drop your kids off at the playground, take the dog into the dog park, and watch both at the same time.

Our Disney Christmas 2010
Nicki aka Rebelstand replied to Nicki aka Rebelstand's topic in Trip Reports
We have obviously detected a deficiency in my photography skills. :D I promise to try to fix this problem next trip. In the meantime, here is what my missing girl looks like: (sorry about the size...pulled it off my blog) She was the baby before the babies came(rotten). Now she's a somewhat middle aged girl who forgets she not a pup anymore...and she belongs only to me! And has no problem letting the rest of the family know it  -
How many times do you..
Nicki aka Rebelstand replied to disney92's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Twice last year, our Disney introductory year, but only once to the FW. First was at ASM. However, DH hubby is making noises about a trip west this year... wonder if I can talk him into DisneyLand..... -

One problem though, I had about 50 pics I couldn't use... like one of the other dog. The kids were in every picture of her. -
He was kinda quiet but his wife was outgoing and very sweet. She got several of the kids in our loop Christmas gifts and offered me a ride to a working comfort station when our water was off.

Amazing job! Love your TT!

Ok... going back to the guy with the leaf blower & the car. he was our neighbor over Christmas. Him, his wife, and their 6 dogs. He would blow the leaves off so the yorkies wouldn't get leaves in their hair(we think). She told us they had come in Sept to escape the oil spill mess.

I wish I'd recognized you at the stop. It wasn't until I got on voldemort (that other place) later in the day and was reading some posts that I realized it. However, I enjoyed your DD's laughter as the bus drove. We were in 300. 328 (great site if you have dogs). I am glad you enjoyed the TR. It was our first trip to FW (second to WDW) so we took pictures of a lot of things. -

Large dogs in the heat at Fort Wilderness
Nicki aka Rebelstand replied to Ram101's topic in Camping for Pets
We travel with a Great Dane(145lbs) and a ACD Blue Heeler, so we have one big one and one hairy one. We leave our dogs in the TT for park days. We go for rope drop and at least one of us comes back at lunch to walk & feed the dogs. That person also waits an hour before returning to the bark (Dane's can bloat after feeding). We leave the furnace, the fan or the A/C going depending on the temps outside. Keeping in mind our heeler is almost 11 years and the dane doesn't have much energy at all.... so they mostly sleep until we come back and take them to the dog park.... -
We did the DDP when we stayed at All star Music in June and did not for Christmas at FW. After experiencing both ways of eating at WDW, I think we decided that it depends on the link of the stay and if we are planning a Character meal. My husband likes to cook but also likes to be free some of the time while on vacation from cooking. We also really liked the food we had at WDW... I guess it will depend on how he feels when I book the trip. The only real negative is ADR's. Both trips we booked with only a few weeks or a few months before the trip. I had problems getting some of my ADR's

Socializing a puppy for Disney Interaction
Nicki aka Rebelstand replied to Just Whipperwhirl's topic in Camping for Pets
The most important thing about doggie socialization is for you to be relaxed when out with your dog. I am a perfect example of how not to do it. My husband commands the lease when we are in a new area. I get worried/stressed and that worry/stress heads down the leash. After that first trip, I am fine and the dogs are fine. -
Tips for Camping with Dogs
Nicki aka Rebelstand replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in Camping for Pets
We find in closing the curtains in our TT to help stop unfortunate barking. Tv, radio, and the A/C also help to mask outside sounds from setting off barking. We found that 30 minutes of playing at the dog park on arrival/everyday can also help exercise the nervous/excitable energy of travel out of them. -
