Does anyone have any comments, on the 2011 Ram 2500? We had been looking at 2013, but found a 2011 that's interesting....
Google "Death Wobble" on youtube. Watch it and then ask that question again. I had a 2007 that we loved, but got the Death Wobble about 100k miles and dropped $1500 into it to no avail - read where they updated the geometry of the new (2013 and up) Ram's and traded my 07 in for a 13. Absolutely loved the truck - got the first wobble at 21K miles. Had it lined up hoping it was just the caster - nope. Had to cancel a beach trip with our Camper and scramble last minute to find a beach house for a LOT more $$$ so the week not wasted.
I am in the process of looking for another truck. I will never again buy a Dodge. In the spirit of complete disclosure, I have owned all three (Ford, Dodge, Chevy) and have read reports of Ford's doing this also but it is rare. Chevrolet's don't.
I can stand the thought of an engine that blows up - can't stand the thought of losing steering and control going 65 miles and hour down the road pulling 13K. Not worth my life nor anyone else's...

We liked the 500 when we were under 30 feet. Now not so sure since we are close to 40ft. It was a bit tight in spots before. We stayed in 525and 528

TN22 and our gang recently stayed in Rodanthe on the OBX - definitely something to see at least once!

I always used a WDH - I've seen some without, but can't imagine how it might wag as a big truck goes by. FWIW

One thing to check on - what size is the fuel tank on the Ford? The Dodge is typically 32 gallon, but I have a friend who was not happy with this ford with a 25 or so gallon tank - it may not sound like much but even a 10 miles per gallon - that could mean the difference between stopping every hour and a half more often for fuel.

When I hooked up my 10K lb toy hauler (old one) in a muddy field and never touched the accelerator - but slowly idled my way out of the field. That's Torque...
Throwing mud 20 feet in the air and covering everything behind you and getting stuck in the process is horsepower...

Look Dave, this is great and all, but now my wife is going to read this and since our NEXT anniversary is our 20th, it's going to be a bit hard to live up to this....

We prefer to stay on the Cosby side of Gatlinburg. Less traffic and easy in/out via Newport
Not fun sitting in bumper to bumper traffic..
Check out Anchor Down campground on Douglas lake nearby on web too.

I use the Smart Truck Route app- it's for truckers and shows all truck stops as well as scales etc. You can tell it how long you are to get more routes than just what the big rigs get
