  1. Here is a tip I learned the hard way. When checking tire pressure, always make sure the valve stem did in fact shut off completely. I just put some spit on the end and look for bubbles. If I see bubbles it is leaking. Tiny bits of dirt or rubber debris inside the tire can become trapped in the valve stem seal preventing it from sealing completely. This did happen on one of my motorhome tires during a gas stop. I checked my tires and all was good. The problem was when I checked one of the tires the valve did fail to seal , just left as light leak. I did not do the bubble test back then so had
  2. Hi Shawn. We bought our motorhome 4 yrs ago, after having 2 travel trailers. I studied the options for months, comparing the pros and cons of class C and class A, gas and diesel. Only you can decide what is best for your family, we all have different needs and priorities. We decided that a class A gas RV made the most scense for us. We are 4 adults and 2 small children traveling 1020 miles each way to the Fort. We bought a 2002 Winnebego Brave 34D. It is 35 feet long and has a large slide out in the front living area and a small slide in the rear bedroom. It is a Workhorse chassis with a GM 8
  3. Thanks Carol for the link. I have been looking at many campsites for the last couple of days on my pc. I love how fast I can go from one site to the next by just hitting backspace twice and then type in the next number and enter to go all around a loop. You don't have to use the mouse. This app is way cool and will be so helpful, especially to Fort rookies. I was happy to see lots of site pics in the 1800 loop, our fav. We are going for 10 days in early June. We will have the Winne, the GC, and probably a car this time so we may need to request a longer site pad. Seeing the length and width of
  4. I know a site app which would have info and pics of all the sites was being developed. Where do I find it. Also can it be used on a PC or just on a phone? Thanks very much, this is very exciting.
  5. Oh my gosh! I have learned a lot by reading this story. Thank you for posting it Monique! We enjoy the Dessert Party. We have 2 small granddaughters and the party is a perfect way to relax at the end of the day. You don't have to fight the crowds. Plus for about $23 per adult, its a great value. All that being said, I do know that the viewing is not the best. I have some good video from here but I want to get the ultimate video for our enjoyment at home. I used to think that maybe someday I would try to record from the train station upper deck. After reading this post I am not going to camp ou
  6. The 1600, 1700, and 1800 loops are all about the same. We have stayed in the 1800 many times . We like how its a little more quiet and maybe a little less open between the sites. No 1809 is easiest to back in to. No 1809, 1812, 1813 all back up to the canal area which enhances the secluded feel. I rank them first 1809, 1812, 1813. Also, 1825 is very easy to back in to as its in a curve. Its also close to the CS. We always have a GC so the fact that the 1800 is further from the bus stop is not a factor for us. Enjoy that Fiver!
  7. Site 1812, backs up to the canal, has no neighbor on one side, very secluded. We loved it.
  8. Thanks to everyone for the great welcome! Yes, someone did put a card on the steering wheel clip one day while we had it parked in the outpost bus stop area. I was so excited to learn about this board. I was on the Dis boreing board a lot in the weeks leading up tp our trip and I seriously missed all the great characters that I had loved reading in the last few years. That bored is not the same since everyone left. It is still a good place for info but its like the entertainment value is GONE! So sad. I hope this new board continues to grow and flourish. Yes I am a dedicated fiend. I have neve
