My mother would be so proud! :shh:

I just wrote out a long update from yesterday, and something froze and it's gone! I'm lying in my hammock. It's my last night of my 23 day camping trip.  I'm pretty much out of food, except for some p

This will be my last post before I hit the FORT tomorrow! I'm going to start breaking camp this evening so I can get an early start. FF has given me so many good ideas, I'm not sure where to start! I have HDDR tomorrow night which gives me the afternoon free. I can't wait.

I spent the day in the library. Came back to camp and made a late lunch/early dinner. Had to use up the rest of my crockette chili, and who doesn't love tacos in a bag when camping.

I know it's wrong on so many levels, yet...strangely satisfying. :D

I didn't fax my loop request in 'cause I was camping. But, since I'm a full hook-up, kind of narrows it down. I was just there in June, but didn't camp. It's just fun being at the FORT!

Good for you Kelly! The worst part of the dissertation is the solo bit - EVERYTHING, including cleaning the toilet, is preferable to working on the big D. I'll be your cheerleader if you need one. It took me a couple of years and was paying tuition the whole time. That was a motivator!

I'm paying tuition too. Ugh. Must. Finish.

Too bad that squirrel bit didn't happen at the Poly. They take squirrels there very seriously.

I'm wondering if you're at the Fort right now!!!!

Notes from the FORT!

Yesterday (Friday):

Next time I camp at Anastasia I will be able to enjoy the beach. But work is work, so...just saying....

But I was up fairly early and broke camp in lightening speed. On my way into town I saw this car - I just can't explain it. I could, however, diagnose it. Bless his heart. It was COVERED with figurines.

After stopping for a mid-morning breakfast,  I arrived at the Fort a little after noon and my site was ready! Score one for me! Site 1808 - beautiful. My site backs up to pine and cypress trees, and since it's been raining a lot, lots of swamp. I like it!

The only site negative is that it is pretty much full sun all day. I don't move real fast setting update camp in full sun so I puttered. Not a bad thing. By the time I finished I was drenched - so took a shower and headed to the Settlement (well, I got dress first - thought maybe all those parents may not have a sense of humor). I was too early for the HDDR - so I bellied up to the bar at Crockette's tavern and got me one of these.

Then time to do HDDR! I've not seen this show in about 15 years so I don't grieve the changes like many do. In fact,  I couldn't tell you what the difference was. I am also a very appreciative audience - I can watch the same movies over and over and re-read the same books and often forget that I had seen/read them before. I really love Dori!

Being a solo traveler has many perks, but not always. Tonight was a perk night. I was seated at a little table right near the front.

See how close I am!

And why are these frames above the stage empty? I mean, this is Disney for cryin' out loud. An EMPTY frame? This bothered me. They are darn lucky I can't draw (you will see prove of this in my HS report).

This is what I had to drink - bottomless sangria in a Mason jar - I'm in! I don't think it was watered down either, because by the end of the show I was swinging my napkin around my head and singing along. There were even times when others were too :wine:

They brought enough food for 2 people - that seemed like such a waste. It was all really yummy! I really liked the chicken and cornbread the best. But a girl can only do so much about starving children in Africa.

I really enjoyed the show - corny as it was - that was part of the fun!

And when the strawberry shortcake came out, I think I was able to eat about 1/4th of it. Very yummy.

By the end of the show, we got to join in. I'm no "Lou" with my musical talents, but baby, I can play a mean washboard!

Long day, so back to my :camp1: for zzzzzs.

First, I see the Tag Fiend has been up to his/her tricks again.

Today (Saturday) was EMHs at Hollywood Studios, but somehow, I didn't get up that early. (It had nothing to do with the bottomless sangrias the night before). I made it to HS by a little after 9:00 and headed to TSM to get a fast pass. I'd never seen it before because the FP were usually gone by the time I got over there - so today...I had a plan! Got my FP at 9:20 with a return time of 3:15! Oh well, I promised to do a lot of "firsts" today, so no worries.

Walked past Capt.Jack Sparrow (another first) no line, so just walked in - it was a diverting 8 minutes. Great special effects. I wouldn't stand in line for it unless I had a child with me. The good news is - I am now a pirate and can rob each of you blind.

Another first - trip to Starring Rolls. Hmmm, let's just call that an "experience." Iced latte good. Fruit tart ok. Grabbed a bench by the Brown Derby and listened to music score and people watched.

I just have to say at this point, that HS is not my favorite park for pood forn. In fact, today, at best, would be considered PG pood forn - not even PG-13. Just sayin...

After my tart, I did the Animation thing (another first) - I enjoyed the galleries more than I thought I would. It made want to go back and re-watch some of those old cartoons. This sketch of the 100 acre woods. reminds me of when my children were young and loved Pooh.

I think I'll keep my day job.

After determining that the Imagineers have no job security worries related to my talent, I headed to get a FP from the ToT.

Then, I did the single rider thing on the Rockin' Roller Coaster. This usually works pretty well for me, but they had several breakdowns. I got in line at 11:51 but didn't get on the ride until 12:45. I RARELY will stand in line for anything that long (I'm a brat and have an annual pass and live 3-hours away). But it's always fun so I stuck it out.

After all of that adreneline, I was hungry. I keep forgetting the days are pretty much done when you can still find a sit-down place to eat without an ADR - bad move on my part. I think CS at HS lacks...well everything.  But I'd never tried the ABC Commissary so...here's what I had. That's all I'll say about that.

Now time for my FP return to the ToT.  I always laugh through the whole thing. Very good for the soul. It just cracks me up! When we hobbled off,  It had started to rain so I found a spot at the bar in the Tune In lounge connected to the 50s Prime Diner. I had forgotten that you can order off their full menu at the bar. Grrrr. I ordered a bloody Mary (wonder what this Bloody Mary theme is?) and crab cake appetizer. Great way to kill time during the rain. Just sayin...

Nearly time for my FP to TSM. I watched One Man's Dream on the way (another first). I have loved Disney since watching Disney's World of Color as a child, so I enjoyed the film and exhibits.

I also love these guys. For some reason, I thought they were hilarious in Toy Story - I think it's because their plastic feet are fused and that's the way my brother's green army men looked like.

Then I hit TSM. Can I just say, I know why the lines are so insane for this thing. It was a hoot! I rode with a boy who was about 10 and his score was triple to mine!!! I thought I was doing amazing too. He confessed that he had ridden it twice already just today. I felt a little less deflated.

By then, I was poohped, so back to camp. I had ridden my bike to the Outpost - such a beautiful bike path along there. And I am writing this post with this view - not too shabby. Just sayin....

I was going to get my first GAG tonight (especially since I loved the chicken so much last night) only to discover, that nooooo, a GAG is a family-sized order! I am a "Lone Ranger."  Where is GaDawgFan...Kelly when you need her? ??? So unless I rustle up a few new friends between now, and when I get some motivation, no GAG for me. :soapbox:
I just like the name of it!

No idea what I am doing tomorrow - other than the Encore Performance tomorrow night. Will have to ponder while I'm eating my Lone Ranger....

Enjoying your report. You are funny.

The chicken nuggets? If that's what they are look awful. Crab cake however, yum.

So are you tent camping in the heat?!?

Shrimp. What was I thinking? Yep tent camping in the heat. Pretty much the only chunks of time I get off. I manage. Have a little 6" clip on fan I move around and use at night. :D

Sounds like a good day!  That fruit tart does look a little poopy, and what WAS that fried stuff with the fries??  But the crab cake app at 50's looks like it made up for it.  I would SO love a PB&J milkshake from there right now.

The fried stuff was shrimp. I think I lost my mind. Never tried PB&J milkshake! Sounds good!!
