Starting June 22nd, service hours for the monorail will be changed to accommodate a new "state-of-the-art" control system. This schedule will run through the summer.  Watercraft and additional buses will be available during this time.

 

New service hours are:

 

Magic Kingdom Resort beam

8:30am - midnight

 

Magic Kingdom Park Express beam

9:30am - 11:30pm

 

Epcot beam

9am - 11pm

 

Guest with breakfast reservations at MK or any of the MK resorts on the monorail, should use bus or water transportation before 8:30am.

It's only a difference of 60 or 90 minutes on both ends, and during those times, ridership is lower.

This will have zero impact on overall transportation at WDW.

 

Even if all 12 monorails were operating, which they wouldn't be at that time of the day anyway, they can only carry an equivalent of 60 buses if completely full, and the 3 ferry boats are equivalent to 5 monorails.

 

The new bus depot at MK is designed to take over the monorail runs. They already have bus stops assigned to all the MK resorts and TTC for when they take over.

 

So they'll just put buses in those load zones, and use the 3rd ferry to make up the difference, done.

It won't be cool looking, but it will be more efficient and dependable.

Do the 60 completely full busses include several large folded dual strollers with big wheels?

 

Yes, plus 3 scooters, all with 400 lb. women that have no clue how to maneuver them.

 

And how do do the get the three ferry boats up on the monorail tracks?  

 

Very carefully.
