Dutch Oven...?

I don't own a dutch oven and I don't remember my mother using one however...I'm open to getting one, if they are a good investment.

I've got one but prefer the convenience of the slow cooker over the heat from a dutch oven.

Dutch ovens are awesome for creating meals when you are camping without electricity. 

 

FYI, at the Fort, you would have to use the dutch oven in the grill provided, cant' do it with coals in a pan on the ground.

Lots of good recipes out there for them, but a crock pot is simpler if you have electricity.

I like the ability to start the meal, outside on a table for safety sake, then go where ever and come home to a good meal. :mh1:

I prefer a deep stock pot over a dutch oven.  Less splatters, easier and safer to stir contents.

I do have a crock pot...so I'll stick with that for now. Even that I only use about once a month, but I did come across some new crock pot recipes so, I may find that I'll start using it more often :)

The Dutch oven might be something that I ask Santa for as the idea appeals to me...with the little cooking that I do do, haha :)
