AuburnJen 777
I just don't understand WHY a drug of THIS type would be in food. Just WHY????

Just WHY???? Because these companies source their "meat" as cheaply as possible -- including animals euthanized at vet offices, farm animals that are put down, etc. The drug is in the animals and if they use enough of them, it turns up in the food. BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Just now, DaveInTN said: Yep. Rule of thumb is that if the food doesn't clearly specify a meat - i.e., it says "animal fat" or "[insert protein here] meal" instead of "chicken fat" or "beef" there's a really good chance that "meat" is sourced this way. These days good dog food isn't hard to find - and you don't even need to pay a fortune for it. The ingredients are the key (not a big surprise). Make sure the first 5-10 are real food ...that you recognize. If it's not, well... people can live on processed junk food too, but that doesn't usually go really well in the long term.
