Roller ... aka Ed 351
Last year, Rita and I were trying to decide what to do for a stay at Disney World during the Christmas Season. We both agreed that Christmas was the best time to go, because of crowd levels, decorations, etc. We wanted something REALLY special for OldeKoot, so ...We decided to stay a week, and Rita said it was up to me from there ... and then I began getting daily (and in some cases hourly) calls about what we should do. :argh: Along the way, one of our nieces ask if she could come too ... so now I need to get FIVE adults to agree on a plan :argh:I finally have everything planed and ADRs made ... and just a few days before the trip, Rita decides she wants to go down a day early, stay off site and move to Disney bright and early on our "starting day". :argh:It's a good thing I'm well experienced at juggling vacation plans (don't ask about the 12 party Grand Gathering that started with just 5 of us)!The "final" plan:12/4 - 8 am - depart Bristol - yeah right.9 am - Breakfast at Hardee's in Quincy, FL - better a little late than never. Hardees has become sort of a tradition with us ... but isn't going to happen with the 'new to us' rv. In and out of parking there would be a total nightmare.2 pm - Arrive at the Parc Royale. Still a little behind schedule, but ... the room wasn't ready o/O This is a nice place to stay for the price. Get one of the Ground Floor 2 BR Suites!3 pm - Joe's Crab Shack. We got here at Dinner Time (an earlyish Dinner). It SUCKED. I posted about it on FaceBook. NEVER go here! OMG it :barf: . I would tell you what I posted on FaceBook, but the censor would die. It was WELL beyond Snarky! Before photos: That would be me. Can't you tell I'm excited  The Niece OldeKootThis is the after. Think about those Joe's Crab Shack ads you see - the ones with the "SteamPots"That's what's REALLY in the SteamPot. This is mine ... That's 'supposed to be the Samuel Adams SteamPot. If it had any Samuel Adams in there, it couldn't have been much - because you couldn't taste any.Speaking of taste, Basically there wasn't any - and what there was tasted like . By then, I had been texted from Parc Royale that our room was ready, so back around the corner. Yes, it's almost that close.Move in just what we need for overnight ... and we're off to Magic Kingdom.Three of us have to pick up their Annual Passes, so we're going to TTC. OMG - who was that RUDE CM at the TTC. Worst one I've ever encountered. Rita is flaming :blowup:On to the Fairy Boat. Almost no one on board, and we have a nice trip over. Bag Check is a breeze, and we're there for the 'new' Castle Lights, MSEP and Wishes ... Look, there's some lighted windows ...So much for the first day - a nasty dinner; a rude CM; Magic Kingdom not very crowded at all, the parades and fireworks ... Roller ... aka Ed 351
Day 2 - 12/5 (the day we supposed to head down to Orlando on ...)8 am ish - Eat the Free Breakfast Buffet at Parc Royale. It isn't anything to brag about, but it's free and fills the gut.9am ish - Check into Wilderness Lodge ... in a Jr Suite ... which means Concierge Level! Hmm - no Free Valet Parking for Handicapped. They said it was a recent change. No thanks to paying - it's right there.Inside the lobby - WOW! Wilderness Lodge at Christmas is really something you need to see!Escorted up to Club Level Check-In. Surprise, Surprise - the room isn't ready yet. No problem - hit the club level snacks, and rest a bit until the rooms ready. The room - NOT something I would EVER try with 5 adults again! Even two adults with some kids would NOT be fun. Two balconies - looking right into the trees between the end of the Lodge and the Boat Dock. We did get to see the Bald Eagle nest in there, though. A couple of us hit Roaring Forks for more than just a snack from Club LevelDrive over to The Studios and onto the Boat heading to EPCOT because -That evening for Dinner ... Yachtsman Steakhouse! Sorry, no food pictures of kitties here - we ate it!OMG, we're stuffed. It was delicious; we might do it again for something special ...Back to the Boat headed to The Studios - It's time for The Osbourne Lights!By then Day 2 was about over - back to the off to Wilderness Lodge. Roller ... aka Ed 351
OK - You posted BEFORE I even joined. I didn't dig that far back into the posts. Your report still left out a lot because there weren't two of us ganging up on the other fiends. No reason you can't comment on this one ... and I'll even post a lot of photos you didn't. The "Crazy as Hell" part for the casual observer is going to start soon ...
