disneylitch......Debbie 61
Is there a bus that goes from WDW to Walmart? If so, where do you get it, cost, stops, etc? We are coming to the fort in September for 2 weeks and will probably need to restock. Thanks
Lou... 3,118
Yes there is, but it will take you forever by the Lynx bus.As far as I know and I could be wrong, I don't think there is a direct bus from the Fort to a Walmart, you'll have to transfer.Between waits and travel time, it could be a 3 hour round trip.I wouldn't do it. I'd opt for a taxi.
disneylitch......Debbie 61
Thanks, I think I might just rent a car from Alamo.
Judy in Texas 150
I know the Hess station across from Downtown has pizza to go. Any one know if they have a wider variety of "stuff" any cheaper than The Fort stores?

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
If you go the taxi route and are trying to keep the fare down, I think the closest food market might be the Winn Dixie that's about 1/2 a mile from the entrance to DTD on Apopka-Vineland.It's a good store with decent prices, and there's also a big ABC liquor store in the same plaza.Whatever you do, steer clear of the Goodings at crossroads. It's close but their selection isn't great and their prices tend to be ridiculously high.
Lou... 3,118
If you go the taxi route and are trying to keep the fare down,I'm assuming Judy has a car because otherwise she was planning to go to the DTD Hess station by WDW bus, and I know she would never think of doing that.Potentially, that could be at least a 2-14 hour experience from your site/cabin, back to your site/cabin.A long time just for cheaper toothpaste. BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Unless you work it into a planned trip to DTD anyway, but yeah... that's a trek.Hmmm.... new retirement business idea... grocery/Walmart shuttle from your campsite/cabin.Heck our Excursion could fit 6 people in the 2 back seats with still plenty of room for stuff. Lou... 3,118
I think they have those already. They call them taxicabs.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Do they let taxis pick you up at your site/cabin or do you have to meet them out front?(not being argumentative, I actually don't know the answer to that)And I've taken a taxi at WDW... unless you need a lot of stuff it might be cheaper to shop at the trading posts. SCTigerCock 171
Mo, GREAT Idea. Will you charge extra for the Brady package? :rofl2: :rofl2:OK, so how much for a taxi to the W/D? And how much to DTD?
DaveInTN 3,247
Thanks, I think I might just rent a car from Alamo. You may already know this, but if you do rent a car from the facility on property near the MK tollbooths, they will pick you up from the Outpost for free and drop you back off. Judy in Texas 150
I'm staying at the cabins in October, flying down and getting Magic Express to The Fort. I will not have a car.
Retired and Happy (Ken) 101
We usually rent from Enterprise. They have always come to the campsite. Alamo required us to meet at the Outpost.
