1) I just hate the kids, teenagers and yes even adults who cut through your camp site as a short cut to where they are going.

2)While your neighbors are getting up and ready for early EM hours, you are in your tent after  EM hours evening trying to sleep. Kids yelling and doors to campers shutting over and over again. Sewer connections:   

Do them right. Make them secure. No torn hoses. In most places, your sewer connection faces the side where you neighbor has their ?patio? area. Another time where being discreet and careful is part of good campground etiquette. Lord knows we don't need as scene like in the movie RV with Robin Williams!

2) I love the silence in the morning.  The hush that hangs over a campground first thing...

Don't throw your dishwater on the ground!!!  It attracts critters and is just not cool!!!  Carry your dishwater to the bath house and dump it if you don't have a sewer connection.

Be respectful of others when you play your music.  Just because it is your favorite song, it doesn't mean that everyone else wants to hear it.

We were camped two sites down from some people on the 4th of July last year.  It was obvious that they weren't seasoned campers because their RV had the dealer tags and everything that they brought with them came out of a box brand new.  Obviously a radio was not on their list when they went shopping, so they decided to crank up the car stereo and open the doors and trunk.  Not a good idea...  There were a lot of unhappy campers around them that weekend.

My co-workers and I patrol the State Park campgrounds while they are open during the summer. I have seen many people do the same thing w/ the car stereo and doors open.

Our rule of thumb is that if its daytime and while standing or driving on the road going past the campsite, I can understand the words of the song playing, it is too loud.

If its nightime and the music / news / TV etc can be heard at all outside the site, then it is too loud.

It's always amazing to me how many people are surprised that others might be bothered by their choice in entertainment.......    of course those are the sites that also have too many cars, alcohol out in plain sight (not allowed in Mass parks), fires 5 times too big, etc etc.  :argh:

And those are also almost always the sites we get called back to at 1 or 2 in the AM....  :bravo: :popo:

Two horror stories come to mind that I had at the Fort. Both were some years back.

1) I normally stay in the 100 loop. A group came in & set up 4 large tents, adults & children on one campsite. I counted 18 people in all. First, they all were trying to plug into the 2 110 VAC outlets to run multiple lights, electric skillets, microwaves, hair dryers etc.. Needless to say they kept blowing their breakers and started complaining to the front desk about the electrical problems. The front desk sent out maintenance who tried to explain they could not run all the stuff they had (these people were real morons), so maintenance rigged up a 110 breaker strip off the 30 amp to help, which did but they still were trying to run too much. With all this going on, I was getting pretty amused watching these idiots. The next thing that happened, was some of their kids were running around naked and I am not talking about an escaping 2 year old who was getting dressed, there were 4 of them & I guessed they were between the ages of 5 & 9 (boys & girls). They had grabbed one of the campsite hoses & were having a water fight, with the parents looking on. I went inside my MH because I was uncomfortable with all that going on. While I was looking up the front desk number, the Disney PoPo showed up with Orange County shortly after. They had to break camp & leave.

Horror story number 2 - I was in my favorite site 116. I have had problems with people parking in my site, when my truck was gone, to go to the store, TE, etc.. One time I had a Fort cabin guest, who parked his car in my drive & went to MK for the day (later found out). I put my vehicle in the overflow lot, hoping he would return soon. When we came back for our after lunch break, the car was still there. I called the front desk, the Disney PoPo came out, I advised them the car had been there since 7:30 that morning. They attempted to track down the owner with the FW dashboard card, but no luck. They then called a tow truck & had it moved. I moved my truck back & we returned to the park. We returned from MK about 11:00 PM and went to bed. After midnight, the owner of the car began banging on the door. As expected, he & his wife, were rude, loud, cursing me for calling the Disney police, etc. I shut the door, called the front desk, & several Disney police & Orange County showed up. The man continued to show his behind, so he got a one way trip downtown, while the wife was escorted back to the cabin and they stood by while she packed to leave.

We had a  lady continually park her GC on our site when going to the comfort station one year but nothing like this!  At least not at the Fort. Wow! 

We did have a similar  incident with people parking on our site and blocking us in at another CG where we had to call the Park Ranger...and other neighbors on the same trip that kept trying to peek into our camper while cutting through our site to go to the bathroom. It was actually more out of their way to cut through our site as I had set up our screen house in such a way as to PREVENT them from doing so.  Those neighbors were a nightmare!  We also had other neighbors set up neon purple and green rope lights all over their site and it glared through the windows all night.  Yes, all of this was on the same trip.  Plus we all got a stomach virus and well... I'll just leave the rest for the imagination. :argh:

I can imagine more of that happening now that they have opened up the parking lot....  All it takes is "I'm going to Trails End" and they are in.  There is nothing from stopping them from parking anywhere they darn please!!

1.  I know this has been said before but......DO NOT CUT THROUGH SITES BECAUSE YOU ARE TO LAZY TO WALK ON THE ROAD.... I don't know how many times people have tripped and broken the tie down ropes to my blow up Mickey screen at the Fort.

2.  I know we all have a lot of decorations we bring and I am one of them and If you bring a vehicle with you... but keep it out of the road and in your site.  I'm sure we all have tried to back into a site and to have someones stuff out in the road to where you can't get enough room to back in.... That's when I send the DW to the site to ask them to move because at that point you really don't want me to come and ask you to move....

What IDIOTS!! This would be like me coming home and parking in my neighbor's yard and walking over to my house. We were told when we checked in that there was a 10 minute limit (I think) for parking at the store and that we couldn't ride around in our vehicle. Isn't everyone? At the very least, it's in the information that you get when you register. People need to READ! They don't give it to you just to have something to do. What kind of moron would think it's ok to park in someone else's parking area? You were too kind. I would have called the Disney PoPo right away.  :rofl2:

Last trip I saw a woman park her truck at the 900 loop CS blocking the cart parking, then when done drive back to her site on the 600 loop.... Some people think the world revolves around them and them only.

Late arrivals:   

If you are arriving at a park after normal quiet hours, attempt some degree of stealth behavior. Not that it is easy to be unobtrusive pulling in an RV. But keep the set-up to the minimum required for the night. Your neighbors will understand that you need to pull in and hook up. They have probably been in the same situation. But they will lose patience if they spend an hour listening to loud conversation, slamming doors and arguments over how to level the rig. Do what is essential and remember that tomorrow is another day. The same sort of courtesy should be used if you are making an early morning departure. Don?t keep the engine idling for an hour before you leave. Tidy up your campsite the night before.

Last November I ended up yelling a guy driving the wrong way on one of the cabin loops.  He was going way to fast & was within inches on hitting our GC which I had the kids on at the time.  I rarely get angry but I wanted to hang him up by his toes & let the critters get him.

My issues are usually around the pool. I know kids will be kids but when parents sit back and watch their kids do something wrong and laugh, that pisses me off.  Last year my son was 1yo.  He loves the water and we would put him in a little tube for infants and I would never let go of the tube while I stood next to him in the water.  These redneck kids in the age groups of probably 8-10 consistantly kept cannonballing right next to my son.  This happened about 3 times til I said something.  The kids ignored me and thier 400# father sat there and laughed and kinda kept encouraging them.  I know I could have kicked his a$$ but being a family place and my luck I would have been the one being asked to leave (Disney po-po) We just left.  I teach my kids respect for others so I do agree about the multi-campsite game of tag, kids cutting through your site, and unsupervised children being an issue.  I guess everything can't be perfect.

I would have lost it.  Who do these people think they are.  I'm glad he spent the night downtown.  We had kinda the same thing happen at a car show at the Daytona speedway last year.  People park wherever they want and some dumb a$$ decided to park infront of us and boxed us in.  Not good on a hot day with little kids.  We got lucky a tow truck was making money towing cars to an empty spot in the lot for $5 bucks.  he said he got more satisfaction in watching people get mad looking for thiers cars than making the 5 bucks.  There really are stupid people in the world.

One of my pet peeves is when you fit time in your trip to get some laundry done and some other camper will have used one or more washers/dryers and just leave their clothes lying in the machines long after the cycles have finished.
