We were right!The lines were nonexistant.We had a small breakfast over at TJs. Rick decided to go to Tampa with Rich to pick up some stuff from the Golf Cart Shop and just generally hang together.We decided to take Rick's scooter with us to Epcot since he wasn't using it. We all took turns depending on who was aching at the moment :)So off we go! The partners in crime are Tim, Sheila, TJ, Missy, Mike, Pam, Mikes son (Mike), Josh, Julia, and myself.Mike and Pam and Mike decided to dress for HalloweenMike junior didn't last long with the wig and clownfaceOur first stop I believe was Meade wine and the lobster cheesy thing from IrelandThere is our newlyweds Josh and juliaMy attempt at a hidden jokerThe entire motley crue....Next stop France....Grand Marnier Slushy and Escargot, Yum!!!Not sure what that was, but it was yummyFun with hatsMike is enjoying the "I" in BATWITdebating over food/drink selectionsThat was some kind of raw fish something or other, no thanksMore fish stuffand that is my picture limitmore soon! mouseketab.....Carol 1,261 Posted November 15, 2012 Author Report Share Posted November 15, 2012 OK, time for a brief intermission on this trip report.Did you know that there is a drawbridge in Epcot?Also did you know they raised that drawbridge twice ever 24 hours in Epcot.I'm sure one of the times they raise it is after hours, but every afternoon, the drawbridge is raised during park hours for guests to see.It is pretty cool.As we were wandering World showcase we come up to the drawbridge and they close the gates on us.And up goes the drawbridge!!I have seen this quite a few times actually, but never with fancy schmancy camera on this side of the bridge, so I pop it in Sports mode and start snappinNow, I guess you are wondering why they would raise the drawbridge during the middle of the day to block off guests from continuing to spend money in World Showcase, well this is why....They have to pull the fireworks barges out from backstage every day, all loaded up ready for Illuminations!For Stef, Cute Push the Button and Raise the Bridge GuyAfter the globe goes through about five barges like this go through, so I'll only bore you with a few pics from one of them.And the bridge comes downYour regular scheduled trip report will resume soon!
