‘Limited Time Magic’ Disney Character ‘Egg’ Hunt Begins Next Week at Disney Parks

posted on March 15th, 2013 by Thomas Smith, Social Media Director, Disney Parks

If you have an eagle eye, next week’s “Limited Time Magic” surprise at Disney Parks is especially for you. We’re launching a special “egg” hunt at both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.

For one week only, from March 18-24, you’ll be able to search for special hidden “eggs” themed to Disney characters at Epcot and at Disney California Adventure park and then record your discoveries on specially themed Eggs-perience park maps.

At Epcot, maps can be purchased at the Heritage Manor in the American Adventure Pavilion, International Gateway, Pin Central and Port of Entry.

And at Disney California Adventure park, you can purchase the map at Elias & Co., Oswald’s, Radiator Springs Curios, Tower Hotel Gifts and Treasures in Paradise.

Each map and set of stickers will cost $4.95, plus tax at select locations. And whether you choose to hunt for eggs or not, return your map to a Port of Entry at Epcot or Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure park for a surprise.

Maps will be available while supplies last and no discounts apply. You should also know that separate admission is required to enter Disney Theme Parks and the experience is subject to restrictions and change without notice.

If you go here:

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/let-the-memories-begin/limited-time-magic/vinylmation-easter-egg-hunt-epcot/?CMP=SOC-WDWFY12Q2FBDM0510

It explains more than the blog does.

You get a 2 pack of vinylmation keychains ($12.95 value) when you turn in your completed map.

(Hope the link worked OK, I'm usually no good at these kinds of things.....)

Leave it to Disney to charge you for a map ...

The $4.95 pays for the experience and the map is what enables people to participate. Without the map, it's futile.

There are operational costs for anything Disney puts on, and like any well run business, they must recoup their costs.

In this case, playing is optional and whoever wants to play will have to pay.

OK, They put in the Kim Possible/Agent Perry all throughout Epcot with annimateted items and don't charge for it. But a map, few stickers, and some "hidden eggs" cost $4.95 for a few days and you get a keychain at the end. Are you really expecting us swallow the " recouping their cost" explanation?? I'm calling BS!

The stuff you mentioned is an ongoing experience and is included in the price of a park ticket. You are paying for it.

The Easter thing is a once a year thing and is not already included in the Epcot ticket price.

So yes, I am asking you to swallow it.

Also how much do they charge for a silly key chain at the parks? Could it be close to $4.95?
