I have to brag a little again.  Friday they held Special Olympics Events and Shawnee won 1st place in the wheel chair races.   Way to go Shawnee.  In the past he has won on occasion but he usually got a late start as he does not like the whistle and he would put his hands over his ears.  Then he would take off...sometimes managing to win but usually in 2nd.  Maybe he has now realized the whistle is only for a second so get ready to move.   Or they may have had cupcakes at the finish line.  :jumpforjoy

We are so proud of our 21 ounce, 23 week micro preemie.   Now about 170 lbs. and recently was chosen the Director's Choice in a preemie hero picture/story contest.  He has a t shirt (which he won along with other things) that reads: " Heroes come in all sizes".   They truly do.

We are so glad God chose us to go along for the ride with our outstanding son.  And also with our former 2 1/2 lb preemie Kimberly.

God is so good.

Note that the cupcakes referred to above are the actual edible kind with lots of icing.  :partythree:    And we find it just as rewarding to watch one of our new little ones do something...find his/her feet, hold a finger. smile, etc.  We get lots of rewards.  :pope:

Time line below does not reflect our actual travel plans as we will also be at the Fort next Saturday for a week.
