After purchasing Lucasfilms and doing a cost cutting review, Disney has shut down the interactive games division LucasArts. Reportedly the studio has been underperforming and has struggled in recent years to produce a hit.

I guess that means no more updates to Angry Birds Star Wars!

With so much animation now being done with a computer they probably had an overload of animators.

Hand drawn animation has been almost non-existent for a long time at Disney, as well as the people that didn't make the transition to computer animation.

Even some of the new Disney stuff that looks hand drawn is done using a computer.

Only a handful of people of the 150 were in the animation dept.
