  1. I have no intention of every seeing it, so I'd like to hear what was so bad about it.

    TCD

I wouldn't say it was BAD. I actually quite enjoyed the movie - - - and music. The ending was unexpected...and gut wrenching. Combine that will the music they tied in and I was boo-hooing like a baby...I don't think my daughter will ever be the same.

    That said - - - it was a very sweet movie - - - despite being traumatized.

  2. March...I'm jealous!  That will be here before you know it :)

Most restaurants let you cancel without penalty... but I'm not sure about the dinner shows.  Here is what Disney's website says:

You can cancel your dining reservation online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 up to 11:59 PM Eastern Time on the day before your arrival. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

Some restaurants may charge a fee for cancellations or no shows. Each restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort maintains its own cancellation policy, so be sure to check the policy when you are making your reservation.

For more information, please refer to the cancellation policy provided in your email confirmation.

Drives me crazy that the policy is so ambiguous and varies from place to place! I don't want to plunk down the $$ without being sure. My daughter turns 11 at the end of March and wanted to celebrate her birthday while we were there  - - so we thought we'd let her pick the show.  If she had her way, we'd be at the Luau at the Poly everytime. I did tell her we'd try something new, which at the moment seems to be the HDDR...BUT she's 10 - this is a moving target...and rezies go fast!!! :gaah:

  3. We had a great time too!  Thanks for hosting and the beer!

Oh and for letting the little guy run all over your site and trailer.  It was great meeting everyone and of course seeing Lou again.

Same here, we got home at 10:30pm last night and now I'm back at work, I think I'm still in shock.

I-10 was a mess last night, lots of traffic and accidents luckily none of them looked too serious but they did cause lots of delays getting home.

    Well back to work.

BOOOO! Sorry you guys go home so late, but glad you made it home safe and sound...I feel your pain. After our flat tire drama, we didn't make it to Thanksgiving at my inlaws until almost 8pm.

My remedy for Disney vacation withdrawls is to start planning the next...Spring Break can't get here fast enough!!!! Next time we are all going at the same time, we can caravan from Lake Charles :)

  4. In order to avoid depression and withdrawls from my just completed Disney vacation, I must begin planning my Spring Break trip in March.  First up - - - dining reservations!

We are between a couple of choices and was considering booking several and dumping the ones we opt out of. My question relates to cancellation policies. I know with the credit card guarentee, most you can cancel a couple days before without being charge...buy what about dinner shows? Like HDDR? If I pre-pay for seats, and we decide to do something else instead...how long do I have to cancel???

  5. Thanks y'all.

I think I've narrowed it down to kona or WC.

Any Fiends on the scene to give us a construction update for the Poly?

We are here now and were at the poly just the other day. There is still some construction walls up, but captain cooks seems to be opened up and the new dole whip stand is open outside. We walked around the grounds a little and there are still temporary fences up in places. My best assessment is that there has been some progress since we were here in July, but it is still "construction-y" over there.

    Don't know how helpful this is....but it's what I've got! :)

Everything was terrific and it was great to meet you all! . :D

We had a great time meeting you all...lots of laughs...as expected!

Also thrilled to meet Nick, Lisa, adorable little William...and of course THE Lou!

  7. Hello Thankgiving Fiends!

We are heading out next week and I wanted to extend a dinner invitation to any or all of you folks that might be around and "plan free" for the eveing for November 24th. We will be cooking out at our camper (site number will be posted when we arrive) about 7pm. We'll have pulled pork and hot dogs to share and would love for you all to join us (or even just pop by for a snack before you head out to your next event!)

Look forward to meeting you all!

    Cindy

    Hey Cindy, count us in!

I'll whip up a mac and cheese and we'll bring a couple of chairs (see Bob, I do listen)

Let me know if you need anything else. We're just "across the way" in 341. (can't remember which thread I posted that on)

Hope some other Fiends can make it by too! :)

Great! We'll be at the site by 7pm. We have pork, hot dogs, and watermelon...and an apple pie, of course! Looking forward to meeting you all :)

  8. Looking at the weather forecast for the weekend/next week and it looks ok but warm for the weekend up to Tuesday then turning colder after a front moves through. I can deal with the temp difference, but I hope the rain stays away. Anyone at The Fort already and seen a local forecast? Does it match the weather channel forecast?

Just trying to plan which days to hit the parks.

We arrived last night (yes! We drove through Lake Charles!) and the weather channel was mostly accurate give or take a couple degrees. But hoping there forecast is wrong for next week. Too much rain!!

Being a Floridian for almost 40 years, I dread having to pack when we travel to colder climates.  I hate how everything is bulky and fills your suitcase up so quickly... and heavy shoes are a burden.  Both to wear and pack!

    ^^^^^^^

This is me . . . on I've been in south (well south central) Texas for 40 years. I hate carrying jackets around, or the layers I have peeled off.  But for reals - - first world problems, eh??  Can't be too bad...if I have to be chilly, at least I'm at Disney!!!
