1. I can help. If you would like.

I can help if needed. Let me know.

Are you offering to help me with my project or Lou with this ping-pong balls? :rofl2:

And don't hesitate to use markers instead of paint for certain elements. You can get them in very large flat tip widths.

I fill in the character and other items, then out line it with a black marker rather than try to paint the outline. The marker outline gives you a fool proof line width.

I have been using a black paint pen to do the outline over the pencil lines I make with the projector. Are there other marker types you'd recommend? To fill them in, I'm just using basic $.69 acrylic paint from Michael's because I am cheap.

  2. Ya know, my other dilemma with the whole project is that all my characters MUST be standing on something. For example, the bottom of Mickey's shoes are on top of the baseboard. I can't have random characters floating around (I am illustrating my OCD tendancies). I am doing Fairy Minnie Mouse, so she'll be flying around above the TV niche. They all have to be the same size-ish too. The front wall has a TV niche and these two weirdo niches on either side that quite frankly make no sense. They might get shelves eventually, which would give the characters something to stand on. :1sm056pullhair:

I am happy to have the fiends however. Most of my friends think I am a lunatic for doing this in the first place. Given that we have no really young children. :smug:

  3. Don't know, the page changes often. Here's todays' info. Notice the upper limit of the adult price.

I wonder how far in advance I would know the price...I'm not sure I can stomach (pun intended) $90 for breakfast if it does hit the upper limit for adults. I mean, holy crap! My daughter wants those damn mickey waffles, but these bad boys better come with more than candy on top. An 18K gold souvenir fork perhaps? Will Mickey actually feed me the waffles personally?

  4. I think that even in Florida, they play volleyball, so there goes that excuse.

But I'd encourage her to be a street mime. How many people can say that they have a street mime in the family?

If she goes in the street mime direction, I fear she will be living in my garage for eternity...cuz mimes are creepy and she can't come in the house dressed like that. And as far as that volleyball in florida thing, I'm pretty scared of out-o-state tuition. At this point, she thinks she's going to Baylor like her Dad. I'm thinking a lovely state school is in order. Perhaps street miming IS the way to go.

  5. SO, I am painting a bunch of disney characters on the walls of our upstairs livingroom. I wanted some of them to be doing my daughters favorite things. For example, she likes stories about magic - - - thus Sorcerer Mickey. I also have tigger playing the violin because she plays the violin.

My question is, I found a picture of goofy playing basketball that I can project it on the wall and trace it, but she doesn't play basketball. I removed the basketball and replaced it with a volleyball in photoshop. The question is...does it look weird???? I mean, in the strictest sense...he's not dressed for volleyball...but changing his outfit is beyond my skill level.

  6. The internal announcement which is the one I read, worded it as shown below.

"and that adult supervision is required for children under the age of 14."

And later in the same announcement:

"adult supervision for children younger than 14 at the theme parks."

Based on the wording of the posted version, a 14 year old is considered an adult in this instance

So, my 10 year old daughter is considered an "adult" when it comes to paying an entrance fee and for meals, but is NOT an adult when it comes time to ride a ride. Not that she would ever ride anything alone...because (a. she is a scaredy cat and (b. I won't let her. BUT it does seem that the definition of "adult" is a moving target.

  7. If nothing else, it got you to post.

    It's not, it's $24.49

You don't have to sneak in. All you have to do is give up your life in Texas, move to central Florida, start a whole new life, and become a WDW CM, simple.

Don't think the hubs and I have not discussed chunking it all and getting jobs at Disney corporate in Florida. It is on the table for after daughter graduates high school and goes off to college. Unless she gets a volleyball scholarship, in which case we have to be close enough to go to games. She's only 10, so there is lots of time for her to decide to quit volleyball in favor of become a street mime. Oh, but some day, we shall live by disneyworld.

  8. Gary, Gary, Gary, there is this website that only CMs have access to, you may be familiar with it. It's called "The HUB". Does that ring a bell. Have Marilyn do it for you.

If it has a price or a description, it's on there.

Anyway, the HUB is showing that the adult price is $24.49, and the child price is $14.90.

I feel like we have personal spies...I must one day visit this "HUB" of Disney wonder...can someone sneak me on?? :rofl2:

I have made a reservation at Trail's End...told Husband that is was $20 a person. We have tables in wonderland, so I won't be too far off. Of course my daughter is 10 and considered an "adult".

  9. Eggos and scissors?

    :rofl2: yes. this.

When are you visiting? We usually have decent luck with walking-in (no reservations). Sometimes we wait 30-45 minutes to be seated, but there's a cute gift shop right there so...that's not a problem ;)

Oh...and we typically go in the fall (Oct - Nov...before Thanksgiving).

We arrive on the 20th and depart the 26th. So maybe we'll try Friday morning. Or, perhaps just make a reservation for Spring Break now and let her pick another place this time.

  10. So, like a big dumb, dummy I failed to make an ADR for Chef Mickey's soon enough...and DD has saved her money because she wanted to go have some mickey shaped waffles with candy on top. Is there anywhere else in all of WDW to have mickey shaped waffles with candy on top?? (other than places like Ohana, which are also completely booked).
