I’m done booking a year out for reservations only to pay close to $180 a night for a premium site at prime times.  We gave up camping at the fort about a year ago and the family talked me into buying another camper.  This was a mistake and they now agree. The next reservation we have is for spring break and I had to pull the trip down to 4 days vs our normal 7 day stay due to the cost.  The last time we were at the fort was Memorial Day weekend and had a crappy time due to overcrowding at the fort and the parks.  The camper is now for sale and will probably be the last one for a while.  It’s a shame that the CEO’s have pushed people out of the parks due to pricing and now it’s pushing people out of the fort.  They could build more sites but never will due to Them not being full 24/7 yet you cant get a reservation.  They let people book ghost sites and the rules are not enforced more and more.  Then they try to look like good guys by adding some sort of mining for gem stone activity but charge up to $30 a bag for tiny rocks.   I’m done.

Friends of our were in a similar situation a few years ago. They now rent an airbnb just off property for much cheaper than any Disney resort. 5 themed  bedrooms, pool and hot tub. They miss being on property but couldn't afford it anymore. This was their solution.

  2. My friends family just ate at Garden Grill and there son got sick as well. They mentioned the problem to a CM and apparently this is a very common problem. Because the room spins as you eat it causes guest to get motion sick. The CM said they are constantly cleaning up puke. Uhhhh nice 🤢

Every cover charge I’ve ever encountered was paid at the door. Not put on my bill.   It was 4:00 pm and they charged them. The cover charge doesn’t start till 10:00 pm.

How many restaurants have free entertainment at WDW?

Thats part of the draw at several venues.

If they are going to charge a “cover charge” you should be made aware of it before you enter or sit down. Not a surprise charge on your bill.

No I fully agree with all you said.

I get the impression from various reviews I have read and seen that this restaurant is trying to figure it's stuff out. If you look at early reviews people are going in with ball caps and hoodies, there is not an entertainer fee and the food stinks. Then they start charging the fee, not clearly stated and certainly something I would make a fuss about, whenever you go but still no dress code. Now the fee is per person only after 10, and the dress code and food reviews are getting more positive. Sites say a $15 cover charge, I wonder if it is paid at the door?  All of these changes took place very quickly and are now stated clearly on all reservation sites. My guess is things will continue to evolve as they grow in popularity.

Going back to the hidden charge at 4:00pm. I would have argued the bill and complained to management about making such fees known from the start.

The only thing I knew about was what was posted above. Since we were there at 4pm it shouldnt have applied as mentioned. It really is not well presented that the charge is there from anything I could find.

I would call a request a refund or atleast challenge the added fee.

No.  I want there. But I will be

    WTF!

    entertainment fee???

    are your freaking kidding me?

Does it say any where they add a “entertainment fee”?

I would look at it as a cover charge. They don't want people coming in just for free entertainment.

  6. My husband was on his way home tonight when he passed a Class A on our country road. He stopped to see if they needed help. Apparently they were towing a box cart behind them and the ball of the hutch snapped. We had an extra ball, so my husband got them all fixed up and back on the road. Curious, he asked them why they were way out here. Stupid Google lol. However in this case, thank you Google.

I get it, Disney needs to make a profit, that is what they are in business for.  But, they are pricing themselves out of the market.

We find that we take more trips to Sandals Resorts than we take to Disney now.   I'm sure our age and things we like to do factor in, but I just priced a 7 day Disney trip and compared it to a 7 day Sandals trip

    So, here goes-

    October 30 – November 6, 2019  2 Adults
    Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
5-Day Ticket with Park Hopper Option
    Disney Deluxe Dining Plan
    $4,839.70

    October 30 – November 6, 2019  2 Adults
    Sandals Montego Bay
    Caribbean Seaside Oceanview Luxury Room
    Beer/Wine/Soda in your room
    All drinks/meals all day long
SCUBA Diving, Tennis, Basketball, Racquetball & Squash, Fitness centers, Indoor & pub games, Billiards, Table Tennis, Shuffleboards Beach volleyball, Water volleyball,Lawn games
Did I mention all drinks and meals?
    $3,800

Are you flying down on both trips? What is the travel price break down for both trips? I love Disney but I love exploring other options.

What is a flex ticket? Is this new?

    Just read this from chip&co.

"It appears that in order to price and purchase your tickets, you must select the exact date which you will first be visiting the parks. There is a calendar which will show you per-day pricing allowing you to select the most affordable day to begin your visit. For those who are not planning on selecting their park days, for an additional fee, you can select a “flexible” park ticket which allows you to visit on any day. At this time the flexible park ticket option appears to be $50 per person."

Yeah they added an extra $15. We didnt have him come over he just stopped and sat down and started his act. We didnt question the extra charge as the tables in wonderland card discount pretty much covered it in discounts but it was still an annoyance.

What I heard was that it was standard for them to add an entertainment fee as there are multiple acts that can come through. Emphasis on the can. There was a lady walking around on stilts that was just walking around and taking pictures when she could.

What a way to make a buck, unreal. That charge should definitely be mention on the menu. Thanks for the heads up. We are planning on wearing our steampunk outfits. Maybe they will pay us if we walk around. 😉

As you will be limited to 3 guests and obviously your husband will be one. The other two spots will be difficult to fill if you do win. I mean you don't really want to start a fight among your children. So I will graciously volunteer to go with you. That leaves one more spot for you to fill. Perhaps a contest at home? Who can clean the bathrooms the best? Who is making dinner tonight? Wait are those piles of laundry that need to be done? You could really play this to your full advantage.

Best part is if you came with us you could snuggle the new little one.

Lol my house would be so clean and school work would actually get done.
