  1. We are very fortunate to have a storage facility that allows our camper to be stored inside, so I have really never thought about a roof leak. We have a 2011 and have actually camped a few times in the pouring rain and it has been fine. I guess my question is that I am the type of person who always says,"if you want something done right, do it yourself". That being said, my opinion is that most TT are built very quickly and sometimes craftsmanship is sometimes over looked. We have I believe a rubber roof that is calked all around the edges. If I wanted to buy some Etrnabond and make sure
  2. Totally ridiculious. We were there in May on the 800 loop and a father and his son had thier ATV's out behind the sites making a make shift track. Everytime the poo poo came they hid then came back. it will never change
  3. Kim, I finally got the time to catch up on all 33 pages. What an outstanding job! I envy people like you that carry the camera around all the time and get all the good shots. My last trip report I had to remind myself to grab my camera so I could put something together worth while. As all of us, relaxation is the #1 thing on my mind no matter where we camp. It looks like even though you had some rainy weather, you all still made it a wonderful trip. I hope someday me and my family can figure out how to stay at the fort for 2 whole weeks. That would be awesome! You have so many things
  4. I'm good also. Like I said earlier, it's all good fun, but I do hate extensive snarkyness...if that's even a word...lol Some people just seem to be snarky too much at times, but that's just my opinion. Back to the fun
  5. No need to worry... I have thick skin also. Just need to pick and choose on what threads to respond to. Everywhere there are people who think they know everything. It's all good.
  6. Thanks Lone Star. I'm not leaving. This place is great!
  7. ...Just don't call the cast members who direct traffic at the fort "Minimum wage" dim witts. It pisses off the bus drivers :rofl2:
  8. I think I'm going back into hiding for a while... . I hate snarky sh&? and some people can barley make a post without practicing it....lol
  9. Ooopps...I'm not perfect, your right $7.31 As TCD stated dimwit CM's I guess is alright. That's great that CM make more than minimum wage, but that's not the point of this story
  10. Thanks Carol. I personally thought I would catch hell for my post
  11. Why do they do this just on the holiday weekends? I know there will be more people there on a holiday and of course more freeloaders, but we need this all the time. Freeloaders and local abusers are just that. Fort Fiends who want to visit friends will always find a way around this and get in which is fine. It's the people that abuse the fort is the ones we should keep out. If the crappy Fort Managment thought of this on a daily basis, we could enjoy the pool more, the picnic shelter more and have less people who just don't belong. The $7.35 an hour traffic people at the intersections ki
  12. Ouch, no RV, that hurts. If you must know, I came down with lung cancer, suffered a heart attack, have a brain tumor the size of a watermelon, caught gangrene and had one of my legs amputated, and need a liver transplant, so I had to get rid of it by donating it to the home for homeless RVers. Now don't you feel small for bringing it up? Just had to throw some snarky back at cha
  13. Lou, you're alright in my book. I do like the fact that you tell us all how it really is working for the mouse. 70-80 hours a week does sometimes feel like part time when you have a 5 yo and 3 yo at home when you get home from work. I agree with you on the monorails. I think they are all show IMO. I caught myself in laugh when I said boat captians. Should it have been barge mongers? lol
  14. ...and to throw a snarky one two punch, do you even own a RV any more? Again, all fun
  15. O well, I knew I would run into someone being snarky with me. Living under a rock? I told myself when I returned I would not spend as much time on here. I work 70-80 hours a week and need to be on top of my game. Kudos to Monique. She does a great, great job on keeping us informed. I wouldn't consider any Disney site being competetion for us except the one I won't mention. Some have new info i'm sure Monique would be surprised at. I have been checking that link way before this site was around. I just wish I could find the link to the site on how wonderful the Electrical water parade i
  16. I know many of you have been to this site but for the one who haven't it's pretty cool to check quick whats going on at WDW. You can pick you date range of how many days back you want to look. There is a cool video there taking you on a simulated ride on the new snow white roller coster in the new fantasyland alnog with news on the new resort at Golden Oak http://www.wdwmagic.com/resorts_news.htm
  17. As stated earlier, it's nice to see so many things to do at POR. I keep asking myself why the fort does not rent surrey bikes. Do they think it's going to infringe on their golf cart rentals. I don't know the price of a surrey rental, it may not be worth it compared to a golf cart, but I would think people would enjoy renting one at least to do some looping at the fort. I remeber looking at a Disney add for the tree houses way back in the day. I know my parents said back then that they were expensive. I agree I wish with money the mouse makes, they could keep things nicer at other places
  18. We splurged last weekend and purchased the $245 30amp surge protector at Camping World. I have friends that have seen the smae sort of thing happen and I didn't want to take any chances. Imagine fighting Disney to have them own up to an incident like that? I hope the $200 some dollars will be well worth it
  19. It's nice to see a resort like port orleanes to offer so much stuff simillar to the fort. Any time we stayed at a disney resort except for the time at the French Quarter it has always been a value resort. We could just never see the point of spending so much money for a hotel room. At the rate you got nowadays, that's not bad with all the amenities. Is the new Tortuga rest. the old Peco Bills? We usually always ate at Peco Bills and it really wasn't too bad. Animal Kingdom looks fun. We have never been. We actually splurged a few years ago and got a 2 day any park pass and since the wi
  20. Glad to see another TCD report. Being that will live close to you, I can't wait til my kids get a bit older then we will buy the season passes like you do. It seems you guys have a blast park hopping and doing all the EMH. It's been a few years since we stayed at Port Orleanes. We actually stayed in the french quater side back in 05 on a $79 FL resident special. I actually turned it into a work function/trip and treated all my mangers and thier spouces to a night out. Everyone really enjoyed the place and I agree the boat to DD (and pleasure isalnd back in the day) was great. We always
  21. Living in FL for over 20 years, we have yet to visit sea world. I really have had no desire since I'm not a "sit at show in blazing hot temps" kinda guy. The wife has been wanting to take the kids for the reasons you stated is much more kid friendly than other places. I'm glad to see your pics since I have never seen the things up close. Looking forward to seeing more.
  22. If any guest get to see one of these signs, it's my favorite one (sorry Lou).. I always look for new things to use at my business and this is a great tool.
  23. I for one understand the rules and actually like it. Last time we went to the fort we were at one of our favorite sites 813. The neighbors actually had a huge tent set up behind our site and they must have had at least 14 people on the one site and the numerous tents set up behind them and us along with a huge utility trailer. The best part of the trip was them realizing the checkout time the day they were to leave. We have never seen 14 idiots run and throw stuff in the RV and trailer so fast. The old man even slipped on the pooper hose and got coverd with crap. I had to laugh. The CM
  24. I think Ponchos were mentioned. We actually bought the Colemans in the camping Isle at Walmart. Not disposable but you can reuse them and they hold up a lot better that ones you buy at Disney
  25. I haven't checked Disney resort rates in a long long time and nearly fell off my chair to see what they are charging. I know the $80-100 per night for a pad of cement and rusty grill is high also, but I can't imagine having a "magical" vacation at well over $300 a night. IMHO, the CR is not all that anymore and definatly not at $325 a night. I feel so bad for a lot of people especially that live far away from Disney and have to save up sometimes for years to experience the "magic" at these rates. You would think in this economy people would rather stay off site and save a hell of alot. Bu
