  1. We're seasoned campers and we've stayed in the cabins but never the campground. My DH loves peace and quiet when he's camping. I know that FW is a very family oriented place, and with 10 people allowed on site ,quiet is probably hard to come by. We've booked a premium site and looking at the map I'm leaning towards 800 or 1400. We really don't need or want to be near the pool/trading post etc. We will have bikes along to transport ourselves around. Any suggestions? Thanks
  2. My DD is a CM so we visit frequently and an AP just seemed like a no brainer (trying to use her family and friend passes is a pain with blackout dates) I just "upped" mine to the platinum since it has the "photopass" option.
  3. CMs have Mickey's Retreat which is always quiet and nearly empty. I don't see why the heck they'd want to go to a resort pool!
  4. Aren't they slowly fencing in all pools across Disney property? And having magic band entry? Once that happens that should stop the locals - but how do they get past the guard?
  5. I thought pool hopping was a thing only the Deluxe resorts had to deal with!
  6. I really, really don't like towing anything! My DH does all the driving all the time. Granted when we owned our first pop-up and then small TT I would tow - just so long as there was a rest area to pull into (no backing up, difficult parking etc.) Our TT has grown to 31' and NO way will I even try to drive pulling that monster. Now DH and I are looking into a Class A.... he'd really like me to learn to drive that...
  7. Thanks everyone. The Goolgle Earth is amazing! Now to choose....
  8. Does such a thing exist? I've found all the maps with loop numbers but nothing with specific site numbers. I have the site map app on my phone but it says "left and right" but I have no idea where the in/out of the loops are (I assume all the loops have one way traffic?) If you know of a link please let me know. Thanks.
  9. I'm towing a 32' TT I have a premium site reserved so I'll have to take a look and figure out what's best! I always like a quiet site so I'm hoping I'll get a site that doesn't have a "raging kegger" all week Thanks for the help.
  10. Anyone have any experience upon arrival being able to select your own site? Or do you have to take what's assigned? I know most campgrounds will let you take a "better" site if it's not taken. Is the Fort flexible?
  11. This past summer a similar ride got stuck at Six Flags Gurnee. Just stay off the darn things!
  12. I live in Illinois and here we have very strict bans on bringing/transporting wood anywhere. Does the same ban apply in Florida?
  13. When I booked my reservation I had to move it back to a Monday arrival since the weekend was full.
  14. Thanks everyone. I'm going to hope for a nice, fun time! Can't wait.
  15. It's been a few years since I've been to the fort. Quite honestly I don't recall cart parades and other such business going on. Are these things mostly around holiday time? We will be traveling during the peak spring break time. Should I expect blocked off loops, loud parties and craziness in general? I have a motorhome so we'll be on a premium loop (does that even matter?) I sure hope I won't be spending the week in the middle of a raging kegger with golf carts....
  16. I have a 32' TT we use a Chevy Suburban to easily tow it. I see you mention two teens in your family. I'd really look at those bunks. Some run really small and become unusable as teens "grow" into adulthood. I find most 5th Wheels to really be designed for the "full time" rv folks rather than family. We are ready to move up to a Class A after many years in our TT. Good luck with your shopping!
  17. The fort is plagued by "phantom" reservations. People book one night at the Fort so they get "on property"benefits and FP+ so the site they booked sits vacant. I'm hopeful that Disney will close that loophole. I also highly doubt that Disney has any year round residence. That's a different type of RV park that has residential full-timers. I think the CM meant that the couple arrives at the same time each year.
