We were the very first time we went, I think it was 2006. Been back twice since and not impressed either time - once the service was just awful.
For steak our go to has been Yachtsmen but we haven't been in a few years now and haven't tried Shula's.
I’m a big fan of yachtsman!

Artist Point was by far our favorite before it closed; Cali Grill was always great too but harder to get in to. It's definitely slipped a notch. Other than the view, IMHO it's not worth the cost. Go to Morimoto Asia for better sushi and Le Cellier or Don Shula's for better steaks....
Going to disagree about Le Cellier. I’ve never been impressed.

I didn't see a thread yet, so I'm starting one! We're bringing the light show again and can't wait. Who all will be at the Fort?

That makes me sad to hear because it's our favorite. I know the chef has changed.

Love that!

I think it’s going to be really cool. Universal is really upping their game over the last few years.

Instacart is my current go to.

I might be officially priced out of an AP.

Mexico and more Mexico! Viva Disney lounges!

I thought you were a teacher. And I also know Jason does not promise, he has tried for me before and got the dates and some times he couldn't. But he never promised, he just said I will see what I can do. And one magical time he got me a reservation with out me even asking, but that is just because he is the MAN. Thanks again Jason
Sometimes we crazy folks have more than one job. Ha ha

Jason wasn’t any help to me, I got up with him about 6 months before and he told me no problems he could get more days for me. I sent him a text two months before my trip and he didn’t even know who I was. About a month before the trip I called Disney checking on something else, I told the agent that I was looking for more days at the Fort the agent got me one more day. I couldn’t get it because I had a agent. Jason never did find me any extra days.
As a fellow travel agent, I have a huge problem with you bashing Jason like that. Before becoming an agent, he was mine and always took care of my family. When we look for availability, we're basically looking for people to cancel, so it is completely unfair for you to blame him that people didn't. I also know from personal experience that he doesn't promise things like that. While we may me technically "competitors" in some sense, we support each other, and what you are saying is completely ridiculous.

I wish they'd left the kids club at the Polynesian, that was all evening and they got fed. We tried the kids there once just before it got closed, and they loved it. Whereas this is only three hours and a lot more structured.
Rumour is this one is replacing the Pixar play at the Contemporary that started last year, didn't try that partly because I was worried about how my son would cope with the structure, but also my wife didn't like the sound of any of the restaurants at the contemporary for dinner without the kids. This seems even more structured so probably won't be trying this.
I agree. Z did enjoy the Pixar one though. This is so short.

Not quite. We haven't moved on so much as we have evolved. All of my daughters currently live in the Orlando area, and the twins are full time Disney employees in junior management positions. The twins have an apartment with a dedicated daybed for overnight guests, so our on-property stays have been greatly reduced. In the last year, we've been to Disneyland twice and taken two DCL cruises. And we have made a lot of day trips to the parks
Like Travisma mentioned in his comment, it's a huge PITA to stay at the Fort these days. It's hard to get a reservation, and the cost is outrageous. We've had a few quick cabin trips in the last year at CM rates, but even with the CM discount, those are overpriced.
Like Carol mentioned above, photobucket made it a lot harder to post a photo intensive trip report.
Our most recent cruise was earlier this month. I have enough photos for a short report. I will try to find the time to get a report going.

I was surprised I didn't see you at Christmas.

I was surprised to see all the fencing down and the closed until further notice comment. Sounds like it’s going to be awhile.

We went, and I actually really liked it. The food was way better than most character meals. The character interaction was great . I didn’t feel rushed at all, and the apps stayed until dessert.
I think this and Trattoria al Forno are a huge step up food and detail wise vs the other character meals. There’s also a photopass photographer when the queen.
Not sure if my pics will work this way.

Can’t wait!

The cheap ones help a little. I wouldn’t get anything expensive for a trip.
