I will book as soon as the three day window is available.

We are going to try to make it this year.  We are staying at the Fort during the week of Labor Day so I am not sure we will be able to do both.  We want to be there.  I hate we missed this past year.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I am sorry I couldn't make it up today.  Got too many things to do around home and on the MH before leaving for the Fort next weekend.

I am canceling my site.  If anyone wants it you should be able to get it within 5 minutes of cancellation on recreation.gov.  I hate to be canceling.  I plan on coming up but will not be around for the pot luck.

I would add we typically check in on a Saturday and I fax on the Monday.

When we went in late May we faxed a request.  When we arrived the CM that checked us in acknowledged unprompted that they were able to give us the site we requested.  We got the primary site we requested not just one in our general description.  We have had good luck through the years getting a site similar to our request.  We believe faxing works more than it doesn't.

I upgraded to the Pro account a while back. $50/year for unlimited storage.

Their mobile app has gotten better and better.  I now have mine set to upload any photos on my phone whenever I'm on WiFi so I never have to worry about uploading or losing any pics on my phone.

Looking like I need to cancel.  Friday night is shot for me and now extended family has planned a gathering for Sunday.  If anyone wants my site, PM me and let me know.  I am sure we can work something out.  I am hoping to make the drive up on Saturday and hang out for a while.  Since we are headed to the Fort the very next weekend it is just to much on us to bring the rig up for one day. 

If no one wants the site and you guys want me to keep the ressie to keep it empty for a gathering spot just reply to thread and let me know that too.

Thanks for posting these pictures.  I will be at the Fort the first week of October.  I plan to take some pictures.  I took some in May as well.  If I can figure out a good free posting service I will upload the before and after pictures.   Photobucket is overpriced IMO.  

Well, I have been absentee for a while.  Sorry about that!  I have had a Friday night conflict come up but I am still planning on coming on Saturday.   We head to The Fort on Friday the 4th so it is a busy turn around but it it will be worth it to meet up with so many Fiends.

My guess is that is the access to the new beach area.  It appears all of Clementine's Beach will be bungalows.  I had originally thought there would be two beaches one for the new resort (Old Clementine's Beach) and the one they seem to be constructing would be for the Fort.  I wonder if the new construction will mean just one beach?  I wonder if that would be a shared beach or just for the Fort?

TCD, thanks again for such great pictures.

I am hoping that beach begins to look more like Clementine's.

As for the construction,  If the new area is mostly impervious why would they need to build what seems like such a large retention pond near the group camp area?  It seems to me they are planning to catch a lot of run off water from the new resort.

Thanks for the update!  Still reading along.  This trip report is reminding me of how I typically read a novel.  Just a little at a time.

Their reservation system is so jacked. I made Memorial Day weekend ressies months ago on the website. I called to add a day today and they said it was available. I then emailed my travel agent who was able to make a completely separate reservation with all of the days. I will just cancel the original. If you don't have a good TA you are screwed these days.

I bet they will be installing cameras in those things before you know it.

I'm with you Ray.  We are going to be there in the fall and I hope it is up and running.  I want to ride those things just for the fun and the views.  

They move at 11mph most golf carts only go 14 mph unless they have been modified.  I don't think it will feel slow.

Today was an amazing day; Trails End breakfast, horse barn, bike riding, nap under the awning, dog walking.  A few sites open in every loop, over 25 open in the 2000, saw 2 or 3 Prevost buses and a few other big ones. Mainly campers like mine and many older ones, like cousin Eddie style.

Value to cost?

Unmeasureable.  But for us, worth every penny.

Have a blast.  Get some pictures of the new beach construction if you can.  I am curious to hear how the new construction is going.
