Yeah!
Wonderful!
Glad to have you both joining us again.
So if you are not worried about getting one of the full hookup lakeside sites then the time to book would be March 27th or 6 months prior to your arrival date. If you want the lakeside site, I would book a site with a start date of at least September 24th or 25th. If you are going to do that, then the date to book your reservation would be March 24th or March 25th.
Then you would cancel the days you don't need. If I remember correctly you cannot cancel those days until after the 6 months before your departure date. So if that is September 29th, then you would be able to cancel the dates you do not need on March 30th. There is a processing fee for cancelling.
Thanks Yvonne, I thought you or Dave would know that info.

We usually all get pretty lucky and end up in a similar spot. Glad you are coming back. Don't forget to stop by for a visit at DeSoto in March if you can.

Sweet looks like a good group going already. Now time to figure out the first day we can make reservations...

The 27th works for us. Brady and I have been talking about golf carts lately and he said the 27th was best for them as well.

The Wild Womenz will be there late next week. In between our usual shenanigans we'll have to do some snooping. 😎
Looking forward to that annual trip report!

I hope we get some more Fiends on the scene this coming spring. We have plans for Fall and will report then. Sounds like the most anticipated or feared development has begun.

At the Fort now. New (to us) survey markers in place: 1. In the grass immediately adjacent to the Settlement bus stop and the road 2. In the large open field between the bus stop and P. Hall 3. Between Trails End and the playground. 4. In the trees between the playground and the beach. Asked a bus driver about the survey markers adjacent to the bus stop, he replied he didn't know. He did say a few other things, but I'll put those in the Rumors Section.
Thanks for the update. I the we would all love to see some pictures of these if you have a chance to snap a few.

You missed the most important part of PandS's post. I was right! 😂
Oh Brother...Somebody get INC to put him in his place.

We stayed in 1430 on the inside of the loop in 2006 when the kids were little. We were in a pop up and had to buy an extension for our electrical cord. However, the sites have been updated since then . We liked the site, close to the restroom, but if your little ones go to bed early the noise from the campfire can be heard easily.

Yes, I live in Georgia. Less than 2 hours from DeSoto.
You are close enough. Come on down and join us! There will be more that join the gathering over time so grab a good site while you can.

Although, you (& family) are one of a kind... my love for FW and looping is just a bit stronger. Don't be jealous
I am going to check if we can take a golf cart to DeSoto. If so, come on up and get warmed up for the real looping the next week.
Dave's family will be like the Dole Whip just one of the sweet treats that makes the trip sweeter...
I was gonna say like the Main Street Cinnamon Rolls...

We are booked!

We stayed at the Mt. Pleasant KOA last summer on site B2. It was an awesome site and probably the best one in the campground. Overlooks the lake, large trees, has a fire pit, and concrete patio. The other sites were nice too but not very shady. The drive into Charleston isn't too bad but can be slow in traffic. You will cross that beautiful bridge which has a great view of the ocean. I would stay there again.

They have a fairly good sized one on the east coast of FL.
Maybe you can do a combo Fort/Egg trip.
That may just be the best trip idea ever!

Brady,
You sure know your way around an egg. Those vittles you cooked up in Defeated Creek were on point.
I second Blake's comment. We are going to make a trip to a Green Egg festival sometime soon.

It was a great gathering and so nice to meet all of new attendees. Looking forward to next fall already. I was so proud of Rachel making the trip with Yvonne. I hope Grumpy and Grandma and Bob Kathy can get this on the to do list next year.
-
If Dave starts passing gas after the potluck feel free to move your tent behind us. We will leave after work and hope to be there before 7.
-
We are still in. Ran into Bob and Kathy tonight. They aren’t making the trip but it was great to see them.

Does that mean gifts of strong drink must be proffered to the wise elders??
Who said anything about wise? That is a word seldom heard around this gathering.

Enjoying the report. We have camped in July several times in a pop up. The AC definitely makes the trip reasonably comfortable. Glad you got yours sorted out.
-
Looking forward to meeting you. Glad to see another new fiend at this annual GG.
We really should take some time to thank our ELDERS, Bob and Dave for starting this GG. I mean they started this thing when they young(er).

I offer coffee AND Anna hugs. Would you rather get hugs from Anna or Eric?
I guess that depends on how much salted caramel whiskey one drinks...
Although it would take more whiskey than my motorhome can carry to compete with Anna hugs!

I'll definitely be there, coming in Thursday
We will be glad to see you again. Wouldn't be a DC gathering without the T@B.

Looking forward to meeting a new Fiend!
Yvonne you are welcome behind our site anytime! Dave is a bad influence. And let's not mention Bob, thank God for his better half!

I am sure if I look closely there is still coquina in our camper somewhere. I hate the stuff really, but it always brings a smile to face when I see a little bit of it. It brings back memories of a happy place.

Oh, YOU'RE going?? I need to rethink these plans.
Yes you better rethink it because we are parked right next to you all weekend.
However, I will bring an ample supply of salted caramel whiskey to make up for all that we drank of yours at the last GG.

We stayed in site 1919 last fall and loved that loop! Wouldn't have liked it without a cart though. Do you remember which site number?
When we were looping last fall we noticed in the 700 loop many of the site markers used different fonts and were different sizes and sometimes they were high on the post and sometimes they were lower on the post. Anyone else notice something like that in other loops?
