If it were me I would go to the Boathouse and sit at the bar and have shrimp and grits and a good cocktail!

Great updates! Enjoying your trip report. Thanks for sharing.

I get it. Just wanted to hear your smart a** sitting around the campfire again. Maybe this summer I'll be able to buzz down to see you guys. It was great to see you last fall. I will PM you next time so I won't have to hi-jack a great thread. Sorry Mo.

It kinda screwed me last year for some reason none of them had anything that weekend but it was too late. If the same happens this year I may run up for the day Saturday.

Don't forget that what ever you see as a price on line, the "real" price is about 30% less, especially if you go to one of the shows
Sorry to high jack this thread, but Bob you need to go the DC GG this year! Get a move on and plan the weekend and book a site!

I can't imagine having drinks before going. I would not have done as well as you did. We thought we would start at the American Pavilion and work our way back to the front of the park. That might help us as we will be full by the time we get back to Future World. What I enjoy about it is you didn't have to be at rope drop to enjoy it. You could drink and eat till you are full then head back to the Fort to rest at the site or pool. After resting head back to the park in the evening for music and more food and drink. We then enjoyed looping around the campground. October is a great time because of the Halloween decorations. We will be planning how to taste one of every food offering this year.,

That must have been some big rig to cause that much damage.

Until the Epcot overhaul is complete, festivals are about the only way they can get people through the gates.
We are heading down for this festival. It is an absolute awesome adult playground. Fortunately our kids are old enough to leave behind. Therefore we don't need all the other attractions. As much food and drink as anyone would ever need. Good music, good weather and a relaxing campsite to enjoy. A great vacation in my opinion. Expensive for sure but worth it to us.

Looks like a lot of fun to me. I would pay for it if I were there this summer. The park would have to be cooler at night that time of year.

This is turning into an Epic gathering!!
Absolutely! I reached out to the Helmsley's and they are considering coming but it is a long shot.
Pot luck will be huge! We may want to consider a progressive dinner. Some people could start with drinks then appetizers, dinner, desert, and more drinks! We could stop at everyone's different camp site and then retire to one big fire pit! I may bring my Disney approved fire pit so we can have more of an oval than a circle around one fire pit.

We were at Fort Wilderness today. The road between the Fort and Wilderness Lodge is now closed. The bus to Wilderness Lodge now drops you off and picks you up at the Outpost. A large fence now blocks the road and the area just past the barn. In the picture, that is the cross walk to the trail to Wilderness Lodge. You can see the fencing just past that.
9 hours ago, mouseketab.....Carol said:We were at the Fort yesterday morning for breakfast also. While I didn't physically go over toward the construction area, I can also note that Purple/Orange is now combined. The bus goes through the cabins, then by 2000, then down to the group camping area, then U-Turns at the turnaround, and then goes back to the 4-way and down the center road. (Reverses the process from Settlement to Outpost). I also did see Wilderness Lodge buses at the Outpost stop. Have no idea if it turns into Yellow, or if it's a standalone bus.
Thanks to both of you for keeping us posted on the changes. I am so captivated by this change. Not sure why. I think it is because for the first time my wife and I got a cart for trip last fall. We usually biked, walked or bused the Fort. We enjoyed the looping experience so much we bought our own cart. We are headed back next fall and I am hoping to be able to enjoy the Fort just as much.
I hope the information keeps flowing at the progress changes. Did anyone see what the new beach was looking like?

It is so crowded here for spring break! If you are not rope dropping or FP'ing you can forget it. With that said we have been doing both and having a great time. Weather is perfect, and we are getting plenty of FW time (which is the best part, imho).
Glad you are getting to enjoy the trip! Grab another post for me if you can....😁

So excited to see this GG growing. DIT and Bob started something that has become quite spectacular over the years.
Bob you and Kathy gotta get a site booked!

🍸 And Drink!!!🍺
I am going to make the early proposal that we all bring a favorite beer or bourbon to share.

Our friends who were with us last year, Tim & Vicky, will be on site 53. She has tried getting in fort fiends but her email wasn't cooperating.
Awesome!

We liked 1400 but you may want Little Bear loop to avoid the canals. Probably quieter at campfire time too.

Based on TCDs thoughts I think the area behind the store and 100 loop out to the lake on the right side of the dock will be developed for Fort use.
anxious to hear what else you observe this visit.

That is what they look like to me. They just put a different top on it. Still cool though.
