  1. Sat, 12/17 Up and at'em! We are up, full bellied, packed away and on the road at 9am (typical for us). We stopped just south of Ocala for lunch around 11:30 or so...then it's an easy hour down the turnpike/129 to WDW. I will say this...by the time we get home from any Disney trip, I am SO tired of Arby's that I could spit! Haha. We pull onto Disney property....drive under THAT sign....and it's ON! I am officially in vacation mode at that point. Too bad I can't breathe and am going through Kleenex faster than anyone should have to. We pull up to the FW gate at about 1:15 and I think "aaaaahhh
  2. Sorry, Kim...you know I am a rookie at this and don't quite know the rules. But even if I knew the rules I WOULD NOT FOLLOW THEM! Haha. Thanks Rita.....there aren't any words to describe what we've been through with this loss. It's just devastating. And to be honest, joining here when I did - so soon after that - was a tremendous help. Reading threads here just made me smile. Pretty awesome.
  3. Weds, 12/14 I end up at urgent care!!! I could not believe my luck. After getting sick there in Sept, I could not believe I was going back to WDW ill again. The good news is, I got medication so I knew it would just be a matter of time before I felt better...I just hoped it would be soon. Fri, 12/16 Leave work at 1, get to Maddie's school at 2. They don't get out until 2:30...so I sit and wait. And wait. Finally, the bell rings. She comes to the car and we head out to Hubs' office to jump in the car and vamanos. By 4:15, we are on 285 headed to 75 to head north. Those of you that live in this
  4. Well....here I go. My attempt at a trip report (pray for me). Let me begin by taking you back in time just a little bit. This trip was booked and paid for on August 20, 2010. That was the day that the 2011 calendar opened completely. I learned the hard way that you have to book Christmas at the Fort WAY in advance (as I tried for 09 and 10 and messed that up royally because I didn't book in enough time). You know that feeling EVERY time you go on vacation - "I've never needed a vacation THIS bad before"? Well, I can tell you with 110% certainty that I have said that every time we take a vacati
  5. What Original Holly said! Some municipalities now have a license to sell on Sundays but you can get served all day long. ~Other Holly
  6. Stef, I've been waiting for this TR to hear all about your trip to the city that...you know...I don't like to go to!! :) Someone may have mentioned this already but did you know that a tornado blew out SEVERAL of the windows at the Westin about 3 years ago? Yep....a tornado hit DOWNTOWN ATLANTA. Anywho - really enjoying reading this!!
  7. On hold right now, he's checking availability. CROSSING MY FINGERS (and typing at the same time...pretty interesting)!!!
  8. We don't go through downtown! We take a couple of highways down to 285, close to the airport (Camp Creek Pkwy) and pick 75 up from there. :)
  9. I want three of everything. And I am willing to bet GOOD money that when I call the merchandise order department tomorrow they'll tell me they're sold out!
  10. Hey CKCK! What part of GA are you in??? We're in the Acworth/Dallas/Kennesaw area. :)
  11. Agreed! This is good news (probably not for the folks there, though) and I hope there's more to follow......
  12. I'll go find that. I saw another TR on OL earlier today. And we were looking at the long weekend for July 4th.
  13. Thanks guys! I already sent the link to Hubs for James Island and will check out Edisto (our neighbors used to camp there a lot) and Ocean Lakes as well. Ya'll ROCK!
  14. Hey guys. Can any of you recommend a nice campground on the SC or GA coast? We have never been camping in that area and don't really know what is down there. What I am looking for: *On or across the street from the beach *Sites that can accommodate a big camper (ours is 36 ft) *Prefer paved sites as opposed to sand but this isn't a deal breaker Have any of you been to Pirate's Cove in Myrtle Beach? Thoughts on it if you have. Thanks!
  15. We did HDDR on Christmas night and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Every time they left the stage, the Princess would say "are they coming back??!" ~ she didn't want the show to end! I will say that one of the performers ~ Flora ~ appeared to be simply dialing it in. She didn't seem so interested in being there. Hubs said she was probably upset that she was relegated to HDDR when she had her sights set on the Beauty and the Beast show at DHS. :) The salad was GREAT (loved the dressing), the food was good and the dessert was wonderful. Our first time there and all in all, a great experience!
  16. Here's the scoop. Got to Meadows around 12:45, they still had nothing but the shirts/sweatshirt. I asked one of the CM's if they knew when they were expecting the merchandise, she said they got a shipment this morning but it contained no FW merchandise. I go back in there around 3:30 to buy a Corona and they had about 20 of the ornaments out. I bought one. Jen, if you don't want it let me know and I will put it up for whomever does want it (first one to let me know besides Jen gets it!). And please do NOT expect to pay me for it. Consider it a Christmas gift. :)
