  1. That might be my favorite quote ever! Thanks, they say it has a secret ingredient in it, I think it may be a small piece of tangerine peel in the vat to give it a suggestion of something familiar that you just can't describe. I first said it had that taste of a first kiss when you were going through puberty, which is either poetic or gross...but I'm kinda both. Sorry, there's a few more of those on the way. Life is a sample pack! Thanks Dave! My wife won't even let me have a mini-bike! But my Paul Jr. grill is awesome, decked out in diamond-plate it has a speedometer and I apparently cook
  2. Day One continued: Music: Leon Russell, The Band, k.d.lang, Rolling Stones Drink: Magic Hat #9 Smell: Canvas Approaching nirvana! So, here we are at the front gate…and our very first photo of the entrance sign. Ben had sent me a message whilst on the road, we were already checked into site 1446. So through the gates we go, through the parking lot, past the bus depot, heading out past the cabins and the hitch and unhitch swerves (do you swing the cart through there too?), onward to the four-way stop, and right. We noticed all of the Disney Christmas decorations were down, however, there were s
  3. Nice...almost ready for the next segment!
  4. I was going through my photos and found this lone photo from a 2010 Fort trip. It was in the 1500 loop on the canal side, I think it was site 1517 or 1519. One of our quick weekend trips where we arrive late friday and leave early sunday! It was a phone-cam photo and the quality is pretty low, but I kinda like the low def effect.
  5. Holy! I got something right! I'll mark that in my book. New territory for me...next the moon!
  6. Outstanding, I have tons left! Thanks for being along for the ride! Thanks! You know from the chat that it was an ongoing concern! I've been trying like an evangelist...they all think I'm nuts! My wife chuckled like Santa with the "I need a Ben". He's a good guy, he'll be joining FF.net shortly! The smells are somewhat benign...well, we'll get there! Dave, I'm anxious to chat some bluegrass with you, maybe we'll start a thread and share with the class! Thanks for reading along! Food and fishing photos to follow! Thanks! I just yell "Your cows are dead" whenever we see a graveyard, even i
  7. Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian?
  8. Signal V, (you don't want to be on the bus when the driver calls this in) Breakdown? 54 Where are you? or What's your 20? (old CB guy!) No Mail (have you ever seen a mailbox on the bus) I have no passegers?
  9. I was there, on friday as we passed, saw two Orange County Sheriff cruisers with lights on, and Fort Secuity as well. Spoke to an unnamed CM on staurday, was advised that it was a large family reunion from Miami that was trouble. We looped through there on sunday, was a mess.
  10. Day One: Music: Sports Radio in the car for the morning commute. Slayer on the way home. Drink: Diet Dr. Pepper Smell: Exhaust and copy paper The trip starts on a hassled and hectic Friday morning. It was the beginning of MLK weekend. The kids were off Friday and Monday, however MetalWife had a conference to attend ‘til about 1pm, and I had to go into the office until noon (closed a nice one though!), so we brought in my dear old mother to stay with the kids for the first part of the day. I pulled in to my driveway, the kids poured out of the house yelling and screaming “Daddy!”, I felt famous
  11. The best laid plans of mice and men…I had been planning for a whole year to go to the RV show in Tampa. I saw it last year…the camper of my dreams, the ship that would bring me and my people to the promised land (or even an impromtu weekend at the local KOA), the vessel that would deliver my children safely into nature’s bosom, with a killer floor plan and it’s own plumbing for MetalWife. I was hoping to plan a late January weekend getaway with the family, and even be at the Fort for the anniversary of the big flush, even discussed it with some fellow fiends. The big memorial flush was to be
  12. We're here, site 1446, here til monday morning.
  13. Directions...who needs'em! I mucked around with a set of walkie-talkies for our trip (I leave for the Fort in a few hours, be there by 4pm today!). I tried all week to get these stupid things to charge. I found the directions last night, unbeknownst to me, I had been using them as a coaster all week at my desk. I did it the right way last night, and now I have plenty of power to aggrevate the crap out of the listener on the other end (you know you have to use CB slang, or it just isn't as fun!). Think of the three kings, they had no directions, just followed a star. Ever try that? You can get
  14. That map is missing the stop at Raglan Road for Guinness! Then, it should wobble more.
  15. We were busted in December with an improper fire-pit from an "experienced" gentleman with a flashing-light golf cart, had to invest in a Fort-friendly portable fireplace. I now have like 6 instruments in which to make a campfire...could be worse!
  16. Bad habits like chicken and beer? Although...both good habits...there goes that argument!
  17. I just got into NASCAR this year. My son and I follow Army Football, and have made camo a main theme in dress and decor, so naturally we picked Ryan Newman as our driver and car, the first race we watched together, he had a full camo car...that was all we needed! Lou, we'll just see about baseball season! I think part of Carl Crawford's problem this past year was he might have hurt himself falling off of his wallet!
  18. There's really nothing like a Lightning game. I have a lot of Canadian clients that agree, no matter what you think of the team, they've created a great hockey experience. Keep in mind, a lot of the hockey fans here in Florida have not had the chance to "grow up" with hockey the way that those in the north have, a different hockey culture to be sure. Expect to see plenty of people wearing hockey sweaters/jerseys and flip-flops! Last time I went to the game, Ace Frehley from KISS was performing in the courtyard for free after the final buzzer. Please post here after you're experience. Would lov
  19. Tim you are correct. The Umbrella policy goes over and above your underlying policy. It is usually a 'follow-form' policy which extends the underlying home/auto policy by 1 or 2 million, or whichever limit you choose. Which is to say, whatever limitations your auto or home policy has, extends to the umbrella. The ideal way to cover yourslf in a GC is to add it to the auto policy if the carrier offers, otherwise, if the homeowners policy will accomodate (it must extend off-premises coverage, otherwise, coverage is limited to your community.) Or, a stand-alone Golf Cart policy. The other thing t
  20. I know there are a lot of teachers here, my wife included. Sea World offers an educators discount, and sometimes free for teachers when you buy other tix. Last time we went, we paid very little. That was between Christmas and New Years last year, we stayed at Tropical Palms, and it was only a few degrees. That's when we discovered the heat strip in the popup no longer worked. I had to use my Amex card to scrape the frost off the windshield to get to the bathouse. The next day dumbass me sits in the splash zone. I found a photo from the trip...two days later it was 80...crazy weather we have he
  21. Wow...this took me 3 days to read, at home and at work. I really enjoy your writing style, you tell a great-detailed story...and the photos are outstanding. What are you shooting with? We'll have to join up down at Flanagan's one of these days, swap some stories...let me know.
  22. Our used 1995 Coleman PUP is part of the family, a used PUP is a great way to get into the lifestyle, and see if it is something that will work for you and your family, then move on up. Our last trip, the Mrs. advised that we're ready to move up, so we're looking hybrid because we still like the bunks PUP-style, nothing like being "unzipped" in great weather!
  23. Wow, Red Sox/Rays, son-of-gun gonna have big fun next season Lou! I'm a Bucs fan, a semi-pro team to be sure. We've got issues here! I think a check-in thread would work. She kicks ass on that Barbie pole. She received a certificate from a CM in August, she caught a catfish 3/4 the size of her own body. My son can do some damage with his Spider Man pole too!
  24. Where in Dunedin are you? Indeed, that british guy was pissed, I was in one of Kenny's carts, the governor is set higher than the FW rental carts, I passed him by 500 loop, didn't know he was chasing me, he was probably licking his chops when he saw us go off piste. Funny, the photo of Ben above is taken from the exact spot he nabbed me. Next trip is set-up for late March, may have to squeeze in one before then...that messes up my average. Maybe around Super Bowl. I happen to know my team won't be in it! May also set one up at Fort De Soto in the next few weeks. Just ain't right unless there's
