  1. Pam and Carol, thank you both for the explanation. Do you have any "outside the park" recommendations for doing the upgrade? I've purchased Annual Passes at Downtown Disney before but I get the feeling you may be talking about some other place.
  2. Carol, what is the difference if you try to upgrade before you use the ticket? For example, I just purchased (before the price increase) 7-day Park Hoppers with no Expiry and plan on upgrading them to AP's. I read your post in another thread about entering a park first and then upgrade to an AP at Guest Services to get full face value for the ticket. Can you upgrade without first entering a park and if so, does this negatively affect the value of the ticket? Thanks.
  3. Being in Epcot with your favourite beverage in hand and listening to Eagles music... does it get any better than that!? Not in my book :rofl2: Wish I could make it. Have a good time Lou if you make it to Epcot.
  4. I guess that probably ends any chance of a Tim Horton's opening in Epcot at the Canadian Pavilion. :'( Canadians love their Tim's coffee and there had been a lot of talk about opening one in the Canadian pavilion but I'm guessing most of that talk was based on wishful thinking rather than any solid facts, as is usually the case. :rofl3:
  5. This may be another option for you. Once you have finished exploring at Downtown Disney, hop on the boat from there to Port Orleans Resort. The boat takes you past Saratoga Springs Resort, the Tree House Villas, part of the golf course, and Port Orleans French Quarter before you disembark at Port Orleans Riverside. Explore a bit around POR (it's a beautiful resort) and then take a bus to the Magic Kingdom. After arriving at MK, catch the boat back to Fort Wilderness. You don't need MK admission tickets to do this. I'm guessing your kids will enjoy all the neat things they see on a tour li
  6. I couldn't agree more!! Tony, I hope you soon have some additional pictures of Fort Wilderness to post... you take some truly amazing photos and I really enjoy looking at them. :thumbsup3:
  7. It may be that this is just a "legend" type thing to indicate that this figure represents a comfort station as it is larger and has text under it where the others in the camping loops don't. This is a great find TCD... thanks for sharing.
  8. Just so I'm clear, is this the same gate that the buses enter through? If so, I thought I had read that the KTTW cards didn't work there when they first put those gates up. I never even thought to check it on our last trip.
  9. My son and I attended the February 2nd game against the Winnipeg Jets. Let me start by saying this was one of the best experiences I've had in a long time and one I would recommend to anyone who is considering it. I will definitely repeat this when the Lightning are playing home games on any of my future trips. Here are a few thoughts on our experience... 1. Tickets - we had great seats. They were near center ice and 14 rows up. The sightlines were great and the best part was that they were only $100 each. In Ottawa, these same seats would be pushing $300 per and in Toronto, they would
  10. Thanks TCD. If I had a cart and lived closer than 28 hours from FW I'd be more than happy to let you borrow it also. It's the least I could do in return for all these great trip reports. :jumpforjoy Can't wait to read more. Jeff
  11. TCD, this may seem like an odd question but I've always been curious how you get your cart to FW when pulling the pop-up. Do you tow it behind your pop-up? IIRC from the pictures in your previous trip reports, you didn't have a Disney cart, and because you are there so often and always seem to be looping, I assume you have your own cart. See, I told you it was an odd question!! :rofl2:
  12. Those 2 options are only available to people using a credit card with a US billing address. These should be available options for anyone buying tickets online regardless of country of residence, but there must be some bureaucratic reason why it isn’t.
  13. Thanks devores and I really appreciate your offer. Unfortunately, they will only mail the tickets to the billing address of the credit card. It shouldn’t be this difficult to purchase tickets in this electronic age… I’ve called both Ticket Master in the US and in Canada and both confirmed the only “delivery” method is standard mail with the tickets arriving at least 48 hours prior to game day. The problem with that is that I will be in FL a week prior to that and can’t take the chance the tickets don’t arrive before I leave. The “will call” window is available for international purchases,
  14. Thanks devores... great information!! I'll call Ticket Master when I get home from work, however I'm not sure the tickets can be mailed to me in Canada. One of the other "delivery" options is the Will Call window if the venue has one. I'm assuming the Forum has a Will Call window... do you know if they do? I'm looking at tickets in section 117, about 14 rows up from ice level, and just outside the blue line. My guess is these should be good seats with clear sight lines... any thoughts? I really appreciate all the input from everyone... thanks.
  15. We are NASCAR fans too!! My son has been a huge 24 fan since he started watching around the age of 4... he's 15 now. I used to like Kenny Schrader and Dale Jarrett but I haven't picked a new favorite driver since they stopped racing. We watch every Sunday and have attended races in Michigan and Richmond. Just like a NASCAR race, watching a hockey game in person is a much better experience than watching on TV.
  16. Starbuc71, thanks so much for this information... it is really helpful. Is there a specific route to take to the St Pete Times Forum or can I just go the route the GPS takes me? Agreed. It seems Tampa has one of the better fan bases in the south and Yzerman gives the franchise the credibility it has lacked over the last 3-4 years. Stamkos is a star in the making and Hedman is turning into one of the best young D-men in the league. I'll definitely report back on the experience. We've only been to games in Toronto and Ottawa so I'm looking forward to experiencing a different hockey "atmosp
  17. I'm thinking of attending a Lightning game the first week of February and I'm hoping some local fiends can answer a few questions. 1. Where is the best place to get tickets? The official Lightning site takes me to Ticketmaster... are there any other options with discounted prices that others have used and can vouch for? 2. Parking - should I buy a parking ticket before the game date? I noticed these were available on Ticketmaster. 3. How much time should I allocate to get from FW to my seat? I'm thinking of a Thursday night game and would like to arrive between 5:30 - 6:00, so I'm guessi
  18. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and seeing your pictures of the Smokey Mountains & Dollywood as we are thinking that may be the destination of next summer's vacation.
  19. Another vote for Winn Dixie... close, convenient, and not a lot of traffic if you go the route Monique suggested!!
  20. No, that is the rate we paid in August ($552.74) and it is the normal AP rate. The Florida Resident adult rate is $414.29, Renewal is $377.01, and Renewal Charter is $335.48.
  21. Thanks Karla. The pictures are great and I'm sure it will work fine as an overnight stop. I'm a Good Sam member so that will save a few dollars.
  22. Thanks Norm. I was thinking that 4 hours would do it from there. I was looking at their web site and the sites that back up to the water look quite nice.
  23. Does anyone have a campground recommendation in the area of Brunswick, Georgia? I found a place called Coastal RV Resort in the Trailer Life Directory. It has good ratings and appears fairly new. I'd like to hear any reviews if someone has stayed there. I'm open to any other recommendations in that area. I'd prefer it not be too far off I95 though. I just need a place to overnight on the way to the Fort  Thanks.
  24. We're thinking of stopping our first night in this area along I81. Has anyone stayed at Shenandoah Valley Campground in Verona, VA? If so, can you let me know what you thought of it. Thanks for any input. There is also a KOA nearby in Staunton, VA (Walnut Hills KOA). I usually avoid these, especially for just an overnight stay, but would welcome any thoughts on this campground also. Thanks.
  25. On our trips down from Ontario, we have stayed at the Statesville KOA which is about 60 km north of Charlotte. Easy on/off access from I77 and will work just fine as an overnight stop
