It's written in the article that in PHASE II no mask outdoors.  I  copied it verbatem, here it is again.

This phase lifts the mask mandate for all outdoor activities for everyone in the county,

But Orange County is only in the first phase.  Which the CDC requires masks when in large outdoor gatherings.

That’s why I don’t think it will affect Disneyworld’s mask policy. When we go into phase 2 it might affect it if Disney follows orange county guidelines.

    Or am I missing something?

It shortens the PHYSICAL DISTANCING which WDW has been following, so that shortens the queues and it excludes indoor not outdoor in Phase II.

The first phase of the three-phased plan took effect immediately. It reduces physical distancing requirements from 6 feet to 3 feet

    PHASE II

This phase lifts the mask mandate for all outdoor activities for everyone in the county, though people will still be required to maintain at least 3 feet of distance between groups. The county will still require masks for indoor activities, except when people are eating or drinking.

I thought I heard in the news clip that you shared. That phase 1 lifts the mask mandate for small outdoor gatherings but not large outdoor gatherings. If that is the case you’ll still have to wear a mask inside the parks and at Disney Springs.
Or did I hear that wrong?

3’ or 6’ feet. I don’t care about that. It’s having to wear a mask at Epcot while walking around drinking a beer.

Hopefully this will help those of you having a difficult time getting park reservations. I didn’t know this was even possible.

I didn’t know it was possible to get a reservation without a park ticket.
i wonder how they did it?

Then what am I missing?  There are complaints by people trying to book Resorts and DVC saying they get a message,  "There are days during the dates selected with no Park Reservations available, please check other dates". That means they are not being given unlimited access or priority.

Based on everything I read WDW is trying their best to give both AP and the short term guests balanced access.  What else can they do?

As a long time AP holder I paid for unlimited, unrestricted access to all 4 parks.  With the ability to park hop as I please.  Because of the pandemic those items, which I paid for, were taken away. I get it. Things had to change to accommodate as many guests as possible.   But why is it the AP seems to be hurt the most?

disney choose to sell new tickets to the parks. (Regular tickets.). Therefore limiting the access to people like myself that had already paid for tickets.

What would you tell someone who bought a 7 day pass last month but when they arrived at WDW were told they could only go 4 times to the parks?

Effectively that’s what they did to AP holders.

If I was in charge I would have let AP holders but their AP on hold until they (the AP holder) were ready to return to the park or until the park Reservation system was removed and things went back to normal.
And/or offer AP holders a big discount on their renewal to make up for the LOSS they (the AP holders) suffered due to the pandemic.

That's weird I have had several clients show had them lapse last year who were able to call ticketing and get them re-instated. I wonder why they are giving you a hard time. Sorry to hear it no matter what.

If you call WDW and ask them about reinstating your AP. They will submit a request to do so. Someone from the AP department will call you within 30 days.

that’s what we did.  And we now have our APs again.  I mainly did it because who knows when they’ll start selling them again.

I hate the reservation system.  What happens if you have to cancel your reservations?  You are stuck with your tickets.  Who wants to schedule your days possible over a year before your arrival?

    Me too.
Two things I don’t like about the rezzie system.

    1.   Say you buy a 4 day pass and come for a week.  You have 4 parks reserved.  When you arrive you’re not feeling well. But you have a reservation the next day.   You look at the reservation system but all your free days are full. So you either go to the park sick or lose your day at the park.  Then you paid for a 4 day ticket, used 3 days and no way of using the 4th day.   Will Disney give you a refund?  From my understanding the answer is no.

    2.  As an AP holder I can only make 3 reservations.  Since we live in Oklahoma we come to Florida for a minimum of 7-10 days.
so on our next trip our friends have 4 days of park reservations but we only have 3.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Sounds familiar!  I finally figured out that the bites on my feet were from walking the dogs out along the canal in just crocs, no socks.  Started putting socks on and that helped a bit. It honestly looked like my feet had the chicken pox and they were the itchiest bites I've ever had in my life. Benadryl took the edge off a bit, but really didn't help much.

And while mosquitos love me up here in NH, when I get bitten in FL I end up with nasty bumps that take weeks to go down.

And then there's DH, who gets nary a bite anywhere.

I tell him he's just not delicious.  ;)

Sounds like you got into some chiggers.  I get them when walking through the grass. And only get bitten in the areas not covered by clothing.

Lots of FB posts recently about how crowded the parks have been.

What people don't realize, is that the % of people allowed in seems to be based on their max (or close to)capacity and not the average daily attendance.

I think a lot of us realize that it’s based on the max capacity.

we were there last month and the crowds seemed Bigger, imho social distancing and some rides with long lines make the crowds seem bigger.

for example we waited in line for 20-25 minutes for Peter pans flight and the line was out the door, around the building and under the walk way into liberty square.
if we didn’t look at the wait time I would have assumed it was a 90 plus minute wait.

the other thing that gives the impression of “crowded” is that some of the rides did have really long wait times.  But I think that was do to the fact they limited the amount of guests per attraction vehicle.
(But it seems like they addressed a few of those rides.)

we rode rise of the Resistance and they only put us three in one vehicle. (5 empty seats)

The other vehicle only had one guest. (7 empty seats)
I rode smugglers run by myself. (5 empty seats)

I could name more but you get the picture.

And with so many shows closed there is less for people to do and they’re not inside theatres were we can’t see them.

Depending when you go (holidays or over a weekend) the 2000 loop can be party central.

Large groups come in and take over multiple sites.  They will use one site just for a kitchen set up with 3 or 4 EZ Ups and multiple tables.

They let the kids run wild.

But saying that, last time we were in 1500, a scout group took over 3 sites across the street from us.  Multiple cars and utility trailers on the sites along with a camp kitchen.

They set up maybe 10 - 15 tents along the canal behind the sites.  Must've been about 50 people, but they were pretty quiet and well behaved.

    Thanks for the info.
