I can hear the passholders that are blocked out screaming bloody murder that they should be allowed to go because they lost out of their open times because of the virus!

And this still has to be approved by the Governor.

    did I miss something?

i didn’t read where it says AP holders are blocked.

Besides, Shouldn’t they (AP holders) be allowed to go?

they've already paid for their tickets and haven’t been able to use them.

I’m an AP holder and had a reservation for Easter, and Memorial Day weekend and those were both cancelled.   And when my Easter trip was cancelled I had booked June 3-13 and that is cancelled.   So I’ve lost out on 3 vacations.

Beer through a straw is gross (I blame college).

Taking off the mask while sitting to eat works just fine but if this goes on into the fall I wonder what that will mean for Food & Wine when most food and drink is consumed either walking around or standing next to the closest trash can?

The thing is there are people who will not go to the parks whether they make everyone wear a mask or not.

there are still others that won’t go if they’re forced to wear a mask.

then there’s most of us in the middle that, if made to, will wear a mask, follow the rules.  Pull down their mask to eat or drink and then put it back up when we are done.

I spent an hour in a casino yesterday and I wore my mask.
I pulled it down while I drank two beers.
    it was uncomfortable at times.
it was a pain in the butt at times.
it  smb when I sneezed into my mask. (Boy I  would have given $20 for a new mask at that point.  Lol!)

but I followed the rules because I was in a private business that asked me to wear one.

that being said I’m not going to the parks if I have to wear a mask.  Because I think an hour of wearing a mask is all I can handle.  And it costs too much money to travel oklahoma and spend an hour in the park.

but if I lived in the area I’d probably hit a park for an hour or two if I had to wear a mask.

    Good question???

hopefully the mask requirement will be over by then.   Most businesses around here are not requiring masks but suggest people wear them.
a big casino opened up this weekend and they require you have a mask on when you enter.  But are not enforcing you wear it once you’re inside.
I’d guess that about 90% of the guests were wearing their mask. And when I saw some one smoking or drinking they had their mask pulled down under their chin.

There were already posts yesterday from DS about people flaunting the mask rule by carrying drinks around the facility without masks on.

I thought the rule was no mask on while doing sit down dining not wandering around with a drink.

I was at a casino, were masks are mandatory and I left my mask on the entire time.
but now I need someone to tell me how to get the smell of beer out of my mask. Lol.

but seriously. How do you expect people to walk around DS or Epcot enjoying a beverage with a mask on?

IMHO. It’s going to be a big problem if they require masks.  Some people don’t think they’re necessary and will push the rules and others will complain to CMs about the rule breakers.

btw. I wear a mask when I’m told to.

  5. Will I go to DS or WDW and wear a mask?

No I won’t.  Not because I think it stupid or unnecessary or to hot or ...to wear a mask

because I don’t think it will be much fun when they first open.   If they follow Shanghai disney opening there will no shows, and we really enjoy the shows

I don’t want to wear a mask all day,  to uncomfortable.

Your going to have people who will be kicking and scream because the new rules and trying everything to skirt the rules.

    i can hear it now.

guest:  I have a medical condition that doesn’t allow me to wear a mask  and according to the ADA you can’t ask me what my condition is

CM:  ok, here is your modified DAS card

And you’ll have others who will be whining and complaining to CMs about guests not following the rules.

Guest:  What are you going to do about that guy not wearing a mask?  Kick him out of the park!

I’ll wait and see what happens after they’ve been open a while.

Yep it is a bummer.  I hope it is different for you.  I would have stayed in the campground but not ventured to the parks.  That would have been enough for me.  Hoping my fall reservations will be viable:

Im ok if WDW isn’t open by June 7.
id be ok just hanging out at bonnet creek and maybe going to Disney Springs a few times for dinner and/or drinks. But DW, DD and I Talked about it over dinner and are going to reschedule our trip for this fall.  Maybe!  Lol!

Not to mention that actual medical experts hired by our own government are advising against the rush to reopen everything.

It is amazing to me how many fools there are who choose to listen to untrained demagogues over scientists and medical experts.

    TCD

Which scientists and medical experts should we listen to???

the ones on CNN, or Fox, or the White House task force, or the W.H.O?

    1.  The W.H.O. Says to stay 1 meter, 3 feet away from others.
but other experts say 2 meters, 6 feet.

    2.  The WHO says masks aren’t necessary.

other experts say to wear them.

    Etc. Etc.  Etc.

  8. I think this dead horse has been beaten enough!

wear a mask or don’t wear a mask.
    who freakin cares!

    it’s pretty simple.
If Disney requires you to wear a mask and you don’t want to..don’t go!

And if Disney doesn’t make everyone wear a mask and you think they should than don’t go!

No one on this board is going to change anyone’s mind about this debate.

And I think those of you that want to keep beating this dead horse should take it to the debate thread!

From what I understand, me wearing a mask probably will not protect me from catching the covid-19 virus.  But If I have the virus and cough or sneeze, it will help other people a lot by keeping the germs near my face and they will not travel several feet from me.  Thereby helping keep others from catching this disease.

I agree with what you’re saying.
but please educate yourself on how to properly wear and handle a mask.  If you handle it incorrectly you will still spread germs.

I wear a mask when I go into a store that requires it.   Or a store that is busy.

In Oklahoma the guideline is to wear a mask when you can’t stay 6’ away from others.

it’s not mandatory and I like the fact that it’s not the government telling us what to do.  I agree with Nacole, I’m not mad that a private business tells me to wear a mask. But it bothers me that government does.

As far as WDW is concerned.   We are not going until everything is back open.  Attractions, resorts, restaurants, bars, etc.

Not because I’m worried about catching covid19 or giving it to anyone, because if we can’t do the fun things we like to do what’s the point.

And if they open everything back up and we have to wear a mask, ok we will wear one,  if not we won’t.

  10. Here’s my questions.  And I’m not being a smart a$$.  It just seems to me there Is no way to keep everyone 100% safe.

    1.  How is disney going to make sure people don’t use the same mask everyday for the 6-7 days guest are at the park?

from what I’ve read cloth masks should be washed after every second use.

    2.  If someone has tested positive for covid19 should they be allowed into the parks?

we don’t know if they can get reinfected and pass the virus to others?

    3.  Should they allow children under 2 or people with difficulties getting their masks on and off by themselves, or who has trouble breathing into the parks?

The CDC says...” Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.”  If one of them has the virus they could easily spread it to others in the park

    4.  What should disney do if they see someone not properly handling their mask?

when removing your mask you should not touch any part of your face. Remove mask by pulling on the elastic around your ears.

    5.  People will have to eat and drink when they are at the park.
how is disney going to control how and when people are going to be allowed to take off their mask to drink some water when it’s 90+ degrees in central Florida.

IMHO. They should open the parks to people who are willing to sign a liability waiver and give employees the choice of whether to work or not.  And provide masks, and EDUCATION to all arriving guests.   Do health/temperature screenings for all CMs and guests, etc.

now let’s be honest. People who are at risk or fearful of getting covid19 are not going to the park anytime soon even if Disney makes everyone wear masks and wash there hands after ever ride anyways.
    am I right?

and those people who think it’s no big deal, and are willing to go, to the parks, regardless of whether they make them wear masks or social distance from other  or what ever.
    Will go to WDW.

So for those in the “I’m not going to WDW unless...(insert your own requirement here), camp. Let those people go. Let them be them Be Guinea pigs.

if you’re right they will get covid19 and suffer the consequences. But if you’re wrong they’ve taken the risk for you and you’ll know it’s safe to go back to WDW.

you know the bloggers will be killing themselves to be the first to get back in.

Im with you, I like Disney but I’m not going anytime soon. No thank you.

Why not go to Disney any time soon?

Florida has almost 2 1/2 times the population of New Jersey but New Jersey has almost 6x more Covid19 deaths than Florida.
Also Florida has almost twice the population of Pennsylvania but has half as many covid19 deaths.  Almost 20% of deaths have acquired in Philadelphia county.
Your safer in Florida than your neck of the woods

I’m not picking on you I’m just trying to put this all in perspective.

Yes any place you go that has a lot of people will increase your chances of getting covid19.
but I can’t live my life hiding in my house from something that I probably won’t get and if I or you get it more than likely it won’t do much to us. Let alone kill us.
I get it if your elderly, have certain health conditions And live in certain cities that you need to be more cautious.

But i am a grown man and have been and will continue to take APPROPRIATE steps to protect myself and my family.   And if I decide to go to Disney, soon, I’m not some sort of fanatic that will lick a handrail to get into the park.  I’m an American who has the God given right to do what I want.
And if people feel it’s unsafe or stupid of me and others to go to an amusement park, sporting event, or even a restaurant that is there right.
And I would say to those people Stay At Home!

But I’m not going to live my life in fear.
