  1. Or you could’ve just asked someone that lives in Oklahoma City. LOL

it’s a pretty nice campground and a very convenient location for most things you’ll want to do.  And if I remember correctly the campground has a limo and they will take you to some of the local establishments for free. At least it used to be free.

it is right next to Remington racetrack and casino, the softball Hall of Fame, the Oklahoma City zoo, which has one of the best elephant exhibits I’ve ever seen, and the Omni Plex. The Omniplex is an interactive science museum.

You’ll be approximately  7-8 miles (10 minute drive) from downtown Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma City bombing memorial is well worth going to see. If you just walk the grounds it will take you about 15 Or 20 minutes. Which you can easily spend An hour or two if you go into the museum.

at night I would recommend going to the Bricktown area of downtown Oklahoma City. They have lots of great restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues. As well as a Riverwalk like San Antonio has.

Let me know if you need any tips or advice about things to do, C, where to eat, or just general info about our great city.

  2. while on the phone yesterday with WDW‘s annual passholders help desk I found out that if you book a reservation at one of their good neighbor hotels.
this will allow you to make park reservations just like you were staying at a WDW on site hotel.

So even though you can’t make a resort reservation until 2021 you can make one at one of those hotels. Which in my humble opinion SMB since they will have more access to the parks then us AP holders

If you had been looking Friday you had availability. New situation Ray. Don’t like it go ahead and cancel.

Also. If it wasn’t for you and this forum I wouldn’t have known I could start making reservations on Friday.  This is a quote from the email I got from Disney last night.

    THEME PARK RESERVATIONS

Since you’re an existing Walt Disney WorldTheme Park ticket holder, we’re providing you access to the Disney Park Pass system beginning June 28. Simply log into your My Disney Experience account and check for the date and Theme Park you wish to visit.”

Personally, I think the biggest issue is their lack of clear cut instructions/options of what the various groups can do, people with reservations, APs, etc.

But their instructions have not been the clearest and their phone #'s have been overwhelmed.

    Agree***

i just wish they would give us the option to “re-start” our APs now or when it goes back to normal.
Because I really don’t want to go with all the limitations and restrictions.
no parades, no shows, no park hopping, etc.

If I wasn’t on vacation and knew when I could go on Friday I would have tried on Friday.
Also, I have a high schooler who has cheer and we can’t go for a week until October. And our passes now expire on September 15.

So the reality is that I, like others, buy their APs based on when we can go to WDW.   We don’t have the option of going when ever we want to.

we knew we were going over the holidays, At Easter, and Memorial Day weekend.
approx 21 days.   We went thanksgiving, Approx 6 days.   We obviously didn’t do our other two trips. So if I cancel my AP I will get back Approx 2 months or about $125dollars.
We renewed our APs before last years price increase.  So we got the cheaper price and 15% off.

Again the reality is if I cancel my APs and don’t find a time to go before sept 15th we lose money.
also, we paid for APs knowing we were getting certain perks  the biggest one for us is park hopping.  And that’s been taken away.

I know this is an unusual time in our lives but I think there are better ways to handle this situation

  6. 5 minutes ago, Katman1356...Jason said:the way I under stand it they made a certain percentage of the park pass reservations for onsite, another percentage for AP, and another percentage for ticket holders in general. Each group is separate from the others in terms of availability.

The way i see it is if there are available spots for onsite or regular ticketed guests but not AP holders they are blacking us out.

  7. I was looking at the park availability calendar and trying to some how, to figure out when and if we could squeeze a trip in before our now extended APs expire.

To my surprise when I was looking at calendar for AP holders it showed a lot of days in July and August unavailable for parks and some days that only some parks are available.
but when I clicked on the resort guests calendar those dates magically appeared.  Same thing when I clicked on Theme park tickets guest calendar.

I’m not a florida resident and we are not supposed to have black out dates.

Has any other AP holders had this problem?

  8. When will all this stupid PC crap end?

im not a a gator fan. But the guy who popularized  the phrase “Gator bait” said it was stupid and not racist. Btw. He’s black.  Google Lawrence Wright if you don’t believe me.

And anyone that thinks the “historical evidence” of African American slave babies being used as “gator bait” is just ignorant. I.E.  President Fuchs.

  9. I noticed my AP has a new expiration date.
my AP expired May 20. Now it’s sept 15th.
so they made july 11th as the start day. Which IMHO SMB!   I was hoping they would make the start date the day things went back to normal, After the phased reopening stuff.
I tried to call today to find out about getting a refund of my unused AP. And after waiting for 1 hour 3 minutes I get internet help desk.  He said they were getting the AP help desks backed up call.

He said he doesn’t have that information to tell me what my refund would be.  And I should hang up and call back and hope I get the AP desk.

    WTF??

I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor. He put me on hold for another 30 minutes. He gets back on the phone and tells me the supervisors are backed up and it would be another 30 minutes.  I said I would hold,  he said ok and then hung up on me!

Well it was our 49th anniversary on June 5th and our trip to the Fort had been cancelled so we decided to go to DS just because we were really missing Disney.  I just want to report on our experiences so other people can plan accordingly.  You have to park in the Orange parking garage which is the furthest garage from the older parts of Disney Springs.  There were lots of spaces on the first and second floors so parking is easy.  You are met by friendly CM's who direct you to a quick moving line for a 1 second temp check while still in the garage.  As you walk through the mall you notice that most of the small shops are still closed and there are no crowds so maintaining a social distance is not an issue.    Yes, we did wear masks as soon as we exited our cars so no one had to remind us.  We walked to the World of Disney store and entered on the west side of the building.  Its the only entrance.  All the other doors are for exit only.  Once inside we noticed they had removed a lot of the round shelving units to make more room to walk around.  Most patrons chose to wear masks.  We did see small children not wearing masks and  it did not cause any conflict with other patrons or CM's.  WE did experience difficulty walking out side with our masks but not inside.  It was a hot and humid day and once the masks got a little damp from breathing and the weather it became difficult to suck in air.  We ate inside at the Boatyard and noticed they had the tables separated at least 12 feet apart.  The food and service were great.  WE did not have to wear the masks inside but the entire staff did.  AS we walked back to the parking garage we both had to stop and rest twice because the masks made it difficult to keep enough O2 coming in.  There are CM's every where cleaning all surfaces.  One of the reasons why we like coming to Disney is because it is one of the happiest places on Earth.  With most everyone wearing a mask its difficult to see their smiles or hear their voices. So it didn't seem so happy. We left  2:00PM Wondering how we are going to go to the parks in August, our next reservation at the Fort.  We are hoping the pools are open by then.  It was good to be back if only for a few hours.  None of us know how this is all going to work itself out.  We are 70 ish so we may have to plan our trips using more rest periods or time in restaurants with A/C.  Finding ways to keep masks dry will also be an issue.

    Great update.
    thanks.

Just copied directly from Disney's Travel Agent site.

    Any word about APs?

What exactly are you looking for?  The Festival of the Arts stuff will probably still be in the CM store whenever they reopen. I can ask the twins to keep an eye out.

    TCD

Thanks.   Normally I’d ask a cranky old bus driver to take me to the CM store next time we were at WDW but he moved out of state.

but I would appreciate the twins checking for me. And if they find them.  I’ll Venmo them the cost plus shipping and any extra they deem necessary.

I can’t seem to log into Taptalk and that’s what I use to post pictures.
the magnet she wants is the one that looks like a paint can lid with purple paint spilling out of it.
    it’s says...

    “Figment color co.”

“epcot international festival of the arts 2020”

and on the top of the paint lid it says...

“ Find the perfect pigment with your pal Figment.”

We opted to continue paying and have our end time extended.  I had to call for that option. There was a lot of conflicting info when they first shut down.

    Now that’s fair.

im waiting to see what happens with our APs.
ours expired on the 26th of May. I’m hoping they extend ours also.  To me the refund is t worth it if we can get another trip out of them.

    Summer blackout for silver.

Yes they are well aware of the rules but that won’t stop the whining.

Only thing I will be upset about is missing out on the two pass holder Magnets from the flower/garden festival.

Gotcha. Out of staters don’t have the option to buy seasonal passes.   Our APs don’t  have black out days.

I kinda get their point. They lost almost 2 1/2 months of usage.
Did disney reimburse y’all the money for those lost months?

or not charge you, if you’re on a payment plan?
