  1. We are just getting ready to head out again. We have friends staying over at Art of Animation, so we're going to go visit them. After that we may actually brave the rain to go back for EMH tonight over at MK.
  2. Sorry. I've been passed your place three or four times on the golf cart but your truck has always been gone.
  3. Still raining steady, comes down hard every 30 minutes or so. The Fort is still draining well
  4. I used his page back in March, and again this week. He does use the contact form, it takes him about two days to get back to you.
  5. Let us know where you're at once you get there and we'll try to find you :)
  6. Thanks to Duane, but I couldn't take the stern looks Lou would give me if I didn't keep my man card. Thanks for confirming the 535 route, you will have an apple pie waiting!
  7. We will be coming in from the East via 4, I was wondering which exit would be the best to get to the Fort while avoiding all those other pesky campers.
  8. Where's Lou? He ought to know the roads for 100 miles around the Fort. Whaddaya think Lou, what's the way in that has the least traffic? Steve
  9. Hi! Is there any advantage to be had by coming into the Fort from the east off 4 via 535? We plan on being there around noon to one-ish on Saturday the 23rd. I'm always open for suggestions. Steve
  10. From what I understand, everywhere if you meet two conditions: a.) You must have a spider monkey dressed in a jockey uniform riding on your back b.) You must be naked I've been told crowds and vehicles will move out of your way, like the Red Sea parting for Moses
  11. The Fort is, essentially, one big loop with several smaller loops. I was worried about the ability of the wife and I to bike at our normal road speed, somewhere between 15-20mph. I think that the only place to be able to do that (realistically), is on the main loop, which is, at its essence, a 2-3 mile circle. I agree that if we're out for a leisurely ride through the Fort, our opportunities are pretty varied.
  12. Ah well. I was pretty sure the roads around WDW were going to be pretty bad, I was just hoping I was wrong. I've got a bike riding app that has a couple of rides mapped out nearby on some "country" roads, but you have to drive a bit to get there. I'm not interested in leaving the Fort once I'm there unless I have too, so I guess the wife and I will have to find some other aerobic activity
  13. Although puttering around inside the Fort on a bicycle is probably pretty fun, are there any serious cyclists here that have done some riding outside the Fort? The wife and I would like to be able to do a little cycling while we're there, but are worried about routes and traffic near WDW. Any insight would be welcome
  14. Old time favorite here. We break it down into side dishes for dinner. One pouch: sliced potatoes, onions, salt, pepper and butter. Second pouch: sliced mushrooms, onions, salt, pepper and butter. Serve with steaks, chops, grilled fish...you get the idea. Leftovers into the skillet in the morning for hash and eggs. Oh, for grilled fish, find fillets with the skin on, any firm fish will do. Score the fish, season and place directly on the grill, skin-side down. Baste with a little melted butter and lemon. When the edges of the skin start to blacken and crisp (about 10 minutes or so) and the fish
  15. I put in a web request and Kenny called within 24 hours. He explained how payment was to work, and that he would call the DAY BEFORE we arrive. That is so that he knows when we will be there. He said not to worry about being there to let him in, he said "don't worry, I'll be in there". I'm following his advice and not worrying. He then proceeded to describe the GC, how to charge it etc. We did all the paperwork over the phone (his dime) and then he heard our cockatiel. He's a bird enthusiast and we talked about birds for about 15 minutes. He then heard one of my dogs, and off we went again. Tu
  16. Probably not. If you put it in the back it will change the weight distribution on PU, putting the center of gravity behind the axle. That will make your PU squirrley as hell and very unsafe to tow. Towing capacity is the total weight that your minivan can tow, regardless of how it's distributed behind the MV. Tongue weight max is how much weight is pressing down directly on the ball from the trailer. If that weight exceeds the rated tongue weight, it can actually begin lifting your front wheels off the ground (go ahead, ask me how I know). Having no steering is a bad thing. Oh BTW, Welcome to
