  1. Thanks, you guys! I happen to think DD is beautiful and a fabulous dancer, but she sees herself in a typical teen way, so I'm passing on all of your compliments. She doesn't smile on demand the way some girls do, so that is actual joy on her face, lol! I actually loved the rat....I love anything with fur. Had it been a snake or a bat, I would have had a different story to tell! Dave, I knew I'd be safe mentioning the bus debacle, because Lou came here and told me he doesn't read TRs, lol! Carol, TY, TY, TY for the strap info! That looks like exactly what I need. I was concerned about the
  2. Yep, I kept the camera with me the rest of the trip. It's big and heavy, which is why I left it a couple of times...my neck gets tired from lugging it around, and I hate having it swing off my shoulder! I've tried doing Disney with a small point-and-shoot before though, and that's not ideal either. So, Wednesday, June 27 was parade day! Dd was slated for the 3:00 parade (so we thought.) You would think that would give us gobs of time to do stuff beforehand…maybe hit a park or something. Not so much. She had to be at ASMu by 1:30, which in my world means 1:00. So by the time we had break
  3. Looooooove Josie! She's a doll! We went through the same thing when we lost our Dotty. She was my heart, and we lost her just before she turned 12. I swore it would be a while before we got another dog. A few weeks later, Murphy joined our family. The hole Dot left was just too big, and it had to be filled in a bit. Can't wait to read more!
  4. Ah, Fiends and Culver's....I envision more road trips in my future! Kelly, GO to the Polynesian! I would do it again in a heartbeat if the rate were about a quarter of what I paid (and I could bring my dogs, lol!) So, picking up where I left off....... Tuesday, June 26 brought more rain off and on. TS Debby was stalled. We headed over to breakfast at Captain Cook’s….tonga toast….a first for us! Yum for DH and DD (I’m not a fan of bananas.) I, however, fell in love with the chocolate chip muffins and had one every day of our stay. With the off-and-on rain, what better thing to do than hi
  5. Yay, thanks for reading!! That makes me so happy! I can't believe we're in TCD's photos....how cool! Now I feel even more a part of the fiend family (I won't hold my breath waiting for that royalty check, though!) I think I adjusted Trixie's antennae 14,000 times during that parade. We were not very happy people at that point---our dog Murphy (the yellow one) is super unstable in crowds like that, and we never should have put him in that situation. Trixie (the black one) did great though....she thought everyone was there just to see her. Brenda, you will probably be able to relate to a lo
  6. I hope it’s ok for a new fiend to post a TR! I apologize in advance to those who are not fans of photos. I take photos. A lot of photos. And though I’m usually nervous about sharing them, because I have an ugly perfectionist streak, I’m trying to let go of that and view photography as an art, not a science. That is really, really hard for me, so this is my therapy. If you hate my photos, don’t tell me. Also, I’ve never done a trip report before, so if you hate my trip report, don’t tell me. I also apologize in advance to those looking for a Fort fix. You will not find one here! Though
  7. I'm thanking my lucky stars that our squirrels (we have a lot here, both gray and red) have never bothered our motorhome. I hadn't even thought about that being a problem at the Fort. The biggest problem we've had with them is that one year they got into the attic of our house. We heard the pitter-patter of little feet running across the ceiling and the thunk-thunk-thunk of walnuts being dropped down our walls! It's actually funny in hindsight, now that we've been able to keep them out for the past few years.
  8. I had never seen a tour group at Disney until our last trip, 2 weeks ago (we usually go at the end of November, so I guess we luck out then.) I couldn't believe the number of groups there at the end of June! As we were walking to the bus stop from the Poly to get my daughter to DHS for her dance performance, a huge group sort of swallowed us up on their way to the bus stop. The whole wait I was doing my own chant, willing them to stay away from DHS until after we got there, lol! (It worked, btw....I'm very powerful that way  !)
  9. Seriously?!?! I mean, seriously?!?! And who knew Mickey ice cream bars even had a scent....I must eat mine too fast to notice!
  10. We loved camping at Bryn Mawr in St. Augustine. Our site had its own private covered porch area, and we enjoyed eating out there, listening to the ocean. There was a great pizza place that delivered to the campground, too.
  11. We always get the eclair....every trip....without fail. And the chocolate mousse, but they didn't show that here. It's awesome, too. I may have to try a cream puff next time, too. I think dessert in France has just become a meal for us!
