  1. We've been to each park once. We much preferred Blizzard Beach, but that may have been because we went there early in our trip and on a cloudy day! Our TL day was blazing hot with crazy long lines, and we really didn't enjoy it at all. Blizzard Beach has a much longer family raft ride with very little wait, a fun lazy river, and a calmer wave pool. It also has a nice area designated for younger children and their parents. I don't do slides, but DH and DD really enjoyed the ones at BB.
  2. Yeah, the contract I signed with them said that the info on the chip is their info only and cannot be changed; I also agreed in this contract to put their info on his ID tag. The message I got from them verbally and via the contract is that even though I was paying for and adopting the dog, they (the HS) were to be the first emergency contact in all cases. This is the organization who called me a week after his adoption to follow up and see how he was doing. He wasn't doing well, but they didn't care. Then they called me a week after that for the same reason, because they had lost a bunch
  3. Love it! We don't have an android phone, but I put it on our tablet, and we had fun exploring the sites on it!
  4. Can't wait to hear more! Glad you found your way over here, and welcome to the group!
  5. Our dogs have Boomerang tags....best thing ever! They slide on the collar, so they don't hang or jingle, and the engraving doesn't wear off. We'd still be on our originals if we didn't keep changing phone numbers and having to update! One of our dogs was microchipped at the Humane Society where we adopted him, and their info is on the chip and they wouldn't let us change it. That bugs me to no end, because they are extremely disorganized and unprofessional, and I have great doubt that we'd get our dog back if they were contacted instead of us. I just hope that if he's ever lost, the finde
  6. When I reserved for this coming December, the options were 4:00, 6:15 and 8:30. We grabbed the 4pm show so we'll have plenty of time for Fort stuff afterward.
  7. We wash ours inside out on the permanent press or delicate cycle, and then air dry them on a rack. On the whole, I hate glitter, but I've discovered that glitter on a shirt is far more tolerable than glitter on a dance costume, which seems to coat every surface in my house each June! You will lose a little in the wash, but I've been surprised at how well they hold up.
  8. I think we'll try to do lunch there. That steak sandwich with garlic butter is calling to me!
  9. Awesomest donut ever!! It sounds like a great trip.....it seems all great trips have a few challenges along the way, but you handled them like a pro. I've never traveled that far west, so it was interesting to see. We have family in Houston, so we just might make it to TX someday! Thanks for sharing!
  10. BUNNY!!!!!!!!! (I love bunnies.) Seeing the Lay's truck there....not cool. That is more reality than I care to see at the Fort. I don't think I've ever gotten up before 9am at the Fort, but on our trip this fall, I swear I am going to get up early one morning and poke around before it gets all full of people. I love those wide-open views. Thanks so much for the great TR and for sharing your photos!
  11. Looks like fun! Thanks for sharing your trip :) Jarts were the best. DH accidentally pierced the trunk of his dad's car with one when he was young, lol!
  12. So neat....I love it! Those pix don't look like they were taken from a moving monorail, Dave (or you have much steadier hands than I do!) I didn't even notice the stairs as we whizzed by. It makes the EWP feel more intentional, seeing the setup (vs. it magically appearing out of nowhere, lol!) So are there people on the barges when it comes out, I wonder? And will I get into huge trouble if I try to make my way over to the staging area for a closer look in person, I wonder? I really want to see it up close now!
  13. So cool, MetalDad! I'm not sure why I think it's so incredibly neat, but I do, lol! I guess because we'd wondered for years where the parade actually comes from, and then we unexpectedly stumbled upon it. Thanks for sharing your photo!
  14. I am hyperventilating at the mere thought of this. I didn't know that about the boats either....thanks for the info!
  15. It's going to take more than $4.25 to get me to join the pot stirrers club. Throw in a Mickey head lamp post and we'll talk.
  16. Awwww, they're adorable! So good of you to take them in. I don't do cats (I'm allergic to them), but I'm part of several dog rescue groups on facebook, and animals that come up on there seem to be adopted pretty quickly....maybe you can link up with a cat rescue on facebook and put the word out that way?
  17. I almost made reservations today for December 4...it let me go through the process. I still can't decide which seating level to choose, so I haven't hit the final button yet, but it sure looked like the reservation system was up and running as usual for HDDR!
  18. It's been 4 years since we saw the HDDR, and DD was having a lot of health issues at the time and doesn't remember the show, so I think it's time to do it again during our trip this fall. Last time, we had Category 1 seating, and our table was literally crammed up against the piano near the stage. It wasn't a very good spot, but I suppose somebody had to sit there. This trip, we're trying to reduce our budget, and I'm wondering whether Category 2 or 3 seating would be ok. Have any of you sat at corner tables on the floor or in the balcony, or along the sides in the balcony? Can you still
  19. Bandit is adorable! I'm so glad you rescued a shelter stray (we do that, too.) I hope he enjoys many Fort trips with you!
  20. Sounds like your wife deserved the Yachtsman after hanging with the heathens all day, lol! You can sleep well tonight knowing you did the right thing (just not the peaceful thing or the relaxing thing or the oh-so-delicious steak thing  ). I'm sure they'll be angels soon (whenever bedtime comes!)
  21. There's a lot of that out there, for sure. I only post when I'm sure I'm right. Then again, everyone else responding probably feels just as strongly that they're right, so there you have it! Some posters make me laugh with how wrong they consistently are, but then I feel bad for the people who don't know yet that those posters are whack-a-doodle and are taking that info as gospel. I'll continue to drop veiled hints about other, more knowledgeable boards when appropriate, until they kick me out......or until school starts, when I'll be too busy to fight BFI (bad Fort info.)
  22. Not a bad idea! The dress dress pattern is very cute and versatile, so maybe I'll try one in fun, cheap fabric in the bigger size and see how it fits. I can always make it smaller if I need to. Yeah, anything I try to make to a certain size comes out a couple of inches too small....not a big deal with curtains, but a deal-breaker with a dress, lol! I will double check measurements for sure and probably leave myself a little extra just to be sure.
