  1. It's done.....one Minnie Mouse dress, complete! I had psyched myself out so badly over this dress, and while it was a challenge, it wasn't brain surgery or anything like that I managed to successfully put in my first zipper, make my first pleats, and put in my first lining. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. It's such a cute everyday style that she can probably wear it with a white sweater during other times of the year, too. And the sizing....wow, so weird....pattern sizing really is nothing like regular clothes sizing! I ended up making it a size 12, and while it's a tad big
  2. Can't wait to read more! TRs with dogs in them are the best!
  3. Looks like fun so far! The lady on the plane made me laugh, looking like she was just part of the family, lol! That salad was pathetic. Loved seeing how excited your girls (all of them!) were. Can't wait to read more!
  4. Our favorites are at the Patisserie in France in EPCOT...ham and cheese croissant, chocolate mousse and chocolate eclair. Also in EPCOT there's a place in Future World where you can get the biggest bestest ice cream sandwich ever....two huge cookies with an enormous amount of ice cream between them (can't think of the name of the place, but it's on the same side as The Land.) We also love Dole Whips, but I like them best at MK, because I can get orange there. And of course the Butterfinger and chocolate/peanut butter cupcakes at Starring Rolls are amazing.
  5. When we stayed in 900 in late Nov/early Dec, it was freakishly clean.....there's so much concrete on those sites, the trees are pretty far away, lol! I would guess 800 would be the same. Mo's right about 300 though. I about died staying there after 900 (yeah, not really, but the amount of what we lovingly call "tree goo" was astounding. We were cleaning it out of the camper for months!) I remember dragging in a lot of shell material when we stayed full-hookup, too. A clean camper and clean dogs make my life a whole lot easier, which is why we're requesting 900 this trip. I think you'll
  6. We also have a Class C without a toad, and we bring our bikes and ride them a ton. We never have and probably never will rent a golf cart. We're coming up on our 6th trip to the Fort, and our bikes and the bus system have always gotten us where we needed to go without a problem.
  7. {{{{SHUDDER}}}} I hate snakes so much it took me 3 tries to spell shudder correctly, lol! WTHeck is that thing she's holding in the first picture? The stuff of nightmares, for sure. The dogs are awesome though!
  8. Boy, he is a cutie! I'm not a cat person at all, but I'm going to miss seeing photos of him.....which means that Cindy will just have to take over and keep us posted as he grows :)
  9. I thought that place looked familiar! We love Monte Sano! We've stayed there twice, both times when we traveled to Huntsville for a gathering of Nikon photographers from the online Nikon Cafe group. Gosh, I miss those days! We did the Burritt tour and just fell in love with the place. We spent long times standing on the overlook near the campground, just staring out at the skyline. The first time we stayed, there was another Cafe family in the site next to us, and we had so much fun walking through the Japanese garden there together. Both years, we hosted a a campfire night for all the
  10. Ok, the French bakery photos hurt a lot, actually, lol! We always get the ham and cheese croissant, chocolate mousse and chocolate eclair every time we go...they're must haves and the food highlight of our Epcot days! And now I must have a stuffed Remy, too!
  11. Hooray! I love long road trips! We're heading to Hershey next year on our way to ME and PEI....that milkshake sounds good. Can't wait to see more of your trip---especially the parts out west, as I've never been west of Memphis!
  12. Oooh, fun! I've never done anything but drive straight through OH, so I'm interested to see what you did there!
  13. Yep, it'll look like the one Rita posted! It just arrived Thursday, and I have it out in the moho all ready to go (3 months early, lol!) I hope to meet you two and your Shelties. We'll be the ones with the crazy lab/shepherd mixes, one yellow and one black :)
  14. Welcome to fiendom! I like the 800 loop a lot. We're requesting 900 this time, because we happened to stay there a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it, but we walked through 800 often, and it's great, too. I saw that post about the requests being tossed, but I'm of the mind that it can't hurt to try! I'm not sure about access points for the dog trail, because we always entered from 900, but others here may know. We've never had to change a site, but they've been cheerful about anything else we've ever asked, so I'm guessing they'd be happy to accommodate you if they can. Enjoy yo
  15. Sounds like the perfect place to be today!
  16. That sounds like a sick joke. I mean, seriously?!?! Though nothing really surprises me when it comes to Disney.
  17. I know! I go through this with every project.....as soon as I'm done, I say, never again! And then somehow I forget and tackle something new. I think curtains are a "never again" for me though.....too many long straight seams, and I don't do straight all that well! You're right. It was the same way with the cushion covers I made for the dinette in the camper....I wanted to ditch the project after cutting out the pieces, but the actual sewing was much better. The dress has me stressed though. The cushion covers came out a bit too big, but I'm adding some wrap to the cushions to take up t
  18. If you're still within the warranty period, amazon will usually replace a broken kindle no matter the reason....historically, you're allowed one "oops, I broke it" free replacement. We had to do that with dd's kindle. After the warranty period, if you talk with kindle customer service (not the general amazon number, but the kindle specific number) during the weekday, during PST business hours, they may replace it for free anyway, and if not, they'll probably offer you a substantial discount. We are a 3-kindle family, one for each of us. All are older kindle keyboards that have the free 3G a
  19. Step 1, cutting out the bazillion pieces required to make this "easy" dress, is complete. I thought there'd be like 3 pieces.....there were significantly more. Step 2 is going to involve a hot shower, because after 3 hours sitting on the hardwood floor completing Step 1, my back is wrecked. At this point, I bow down to anyone who charges less than $1000 for a handmade dress, because that's how much you'd have to pay me to do this again....and I haven't even started sewing yet!
