Big Vaca with a Big Family
fowlandfishmommy replied to fowlandfishmommy's topic in Regular Vacations
Thanks everyone! This is so helpful! We will take actual maps and my husband is a crazy man about gas. So we'll be good. And my boys are zoo freaks, but not sure we can do a whole day. We have a fairly tight schedule. Leave Alabama Friday and get to Yellowstone Monday morning. Yellowstone until Friday and then 1 night in the Tetons and to Denver Saturday. Then Denver (staying in Golden) until Thursday. Then home hopefully by Saturday. 2 weeks and 1 day. -

We really don't know yet! -
Hi everyone, My family is taking a big cross country trip in August. We are traveling from Alabama to Yellowstone then to Denver (Golden) then home. We are so excited and this is a trip we've been dreaming of for years. We have family in Denver and were planing a trip to see them and then decided to do it all now. :) So let the planing begin. We will be pulling a camper (we are upgrading our current camper to a little big bigger one with bunks). We are taking our three kids, they will be 9, 5, and 3. I know this may seem crazy to some, but we've gone to China with this crew so we'

When Can We Do This Again? A TCD Disneyland Double Dip
fowlandfishmommy replied to Tri-Circle-D's topic in Trip Reports
Thanks. I think I prefer to do the driving trips with my husband there. I really don't want to rent a car and drive on the free way in LA by myself with three kids. I know I can do it, I just don't want to. :) I think we would have plenty to do in the Disney Land area and swimming in the hotel pool. It will be a very expensive year but it just might be a good idea to get the season tickets. We'll see. Thanks for the input. -
When Can We Do This Again? A TCD Disneyland Double Dip

Hi, I'm still reading back on page 6 but had some questions. Our littlest guy will need ear reconstruction surgery in a few years and we are pretty sure we will be using a surgeon in LA. Most likely we will all go there for the two week stay and daddy will go home after a few days and I'll be there with the kids. I know LA is an hour away, but I thought we could taxi it or something for our one appointment before we leave for home. I want to stay somewhere that we can walk everywhere and have plenty to do when it is just the boys and I. I'm thinking this is might be a good idea. And those bu -

Another July 4 at the Fort TCD TR 2015

I may have told this story before but it's worth telling again. In about 1990 my family and I went to DW. I was about 10 and my sister (who was a hooligan) was about 2. We went into HOP and she proceeded to squeeze through those bars around the seal there (apparent they were farther apart back then). She then would get an arms reach away from my dad every time he reached to get her. She even was sticking out her tongue and doing a little dance when he couldn't reach her. This went on for a while. It was HILARIOUS! Although my dad did not agree!! There was a huge crowd around us laughin -
Globetrotting: to Disneyland Paris and back with TCD

I'm super super far behind, but wanted to chime in about camping in Europe. We've actually looked into it. We are no where near able to do it anytime soon but camping through Italy is probably going to be the way we do it, if we ever get to. Italy is #1 on my bucket list. Apparently camping through Italy is a thing. People do it a lot. So it seems what people do is fly there, ship essential camping stuff that they own and want to use, rent the big stuff, and rent a van. There are apparently a ton of campgrounds everywhere. There is a policy in Italy thought that non residents can't dri -

Those sound like great memories! I wonder if you were in a different hotel....this one was build in 2003 I think? There is another HUGE Marriott closer to Disney...the World Center. Was that it? That is a very nice hotel with some enormous pools! Well it must be the other one. Geez Louise they look just alike! It was super awesome too!! -

My family stayed there in 1991 or 1990 none of us can remember for sure. That was my families only trip to Disney World. I was about 10 and my sister was about 2. We LOVED that hotel. My parents are not do lots of stuff on vacation kind of people. They are lazy river, lay on the beach people. So they loved it so much. We actually didn't go to the parks two days, thus my own family using those non expiration tickets on our last trip. :) Gosh I have some wonderful memories from there. In fact we watched some home videos from there not too long ago. My sister's favorite movie (she was a -

The smoking in China was INSANE. I mean people just walking around our fancy hotel smoking. It was so strange. -

It's not as bad as you'd think. Try a 15 hour flight. With 3 kids. Under 7. :) -
It is heartbreaking. His being afraid of all living creatures (even butterflies) and his worrying about and being obsessed with food are the lingering things that remind us of how hard his life was. We are so blessed by him. We hope that our story leads others to all of the millions of orphans all over the world. God breaks our hearts for what breaks his. Thanks for reading!!

When we were planning on going to Denver to visit my sister (we didn't get to go because the adoption went much faster that we thought it would and we couldn't do both trips in one year) we were going to use Uber. I researched everything and for my size family it was much cheaper to get us to the suburb they live in. We were going to then rent a car if we needed one. A taxi there and renting a car from there was going to be outrageous. I'm not 100% sure about this because things were crazy then, but I'm pretty sure I remember that they would provide a carseat if we needed it, but it might

Just wondering if your girls could do another cameo (remember I'm still waiting on the one about the bracelets) and answer this question. Do the character CMs hang out among themselves? Are they like a clique? I assume college program kids can't be characters, right?

You know people from say Spain or Australia visiting Disney World, were like what in the world is this??? (Well I don't know there is that Pinocchio float) But it is a big honor and I would have loved it when I was that age. :)
