  1. Am I misunderstanding something??? These tests appear to be testing the feasibility of eliminating the stand-by line. Therefore you can only ride if you have a FP+. This limits you to 3 possibly 4 rides per day.....for $100. Would they eliminate the stand-by line for the most popular attractions only?

I don't know about the rest of you, but with FP+, we spent LESS time in the parks. I planned our rides back to back then we would either ride something with a short wait, grab a bite to eat or go back to the Fort to hang around.

  2. Another time, an attendant pulled my blind son up front to feel the firefighter's gear at Epcot during a demo.

To me, this is the type of cast member that can make a vacation. I don't think all of them would realize letting a blind child touch something actually engages him in the conversation. This cast member was aware of his audience and sensitive enough to want to make a difference.

  3. Instead of leaving at the crack of dawn that morning, why not leave in the evening the night before and get a few hours driving time under your belt?? That works so much better for us. I tend to sleep better knowing I have a work day ahead of me, then leaving later. If I think I have to get up extra early in the morning, I take forever to fall asleep worrying if I will get up on time, then I oversleep.

When we had the pop-up, we would stop in Jacksonville and stay in a hotel because set up was time consuming and we liked doing that in the daylight. With the hybrid, we went straight to the Fort because set up was simpler. We considered overnighting somewhere, but it meant we would have to unhook and make beds then undo everything in the morning. Now that we have a TT, we'll probably overnight at a campground near Jacksonville and head to the fort early the next day. I need to plan a trip to test this theory....

  4. Is your Hybrid a KZ by chance? We were calling in about our last warranty visit and brought up ours that did the same thing. It was the LP detector and there is a known problem with the ones they put in the KZ's. ours was a 2010. Call the KZ service department and see what they say. Our dealership was very vague on knowing about it. The word recall was never used but they were going to replace ours.

  5. I have seen a big at the fort the last time I was there in Jan. it was in a travel trailer a few sites down from us. they had a ramp for him to walk up to the door and everything. the 1st time I saw them walking it I had to do a double take. very cute pig though.

Was it January 2013?  In the 800/900 loop area?  If so, there is a picture of it in one of TCD's trip reports.  We saw a man walking it on a leash and I snapped a picture.  I guess cute is in the eye of the beholder.  All I saw was a pig.

  6. We have vent covers (screens) on both the furnace exhaust and the hot water heater exhaust to keep out the mud-dobbers. But I was also told by one of the mechanics at our local RV shop that if I ever bring it in for warranty work for either, I need to take the vent covers off because the manufacturer will not cover either if the covers are in place.

I find this interesting. The manufacturers won't cover warranty work if the covers are in place, but they won't warranty the work required if the dirt-dobbers do damage because the manufacturers don't (or won't) prevent their entry. When we were doing the walk-through for our new TT the guy told us the covers were necessary and they had a unit in for service that had $600 in damage due to the infamous dirt-dobber.
