  1. Hey Kelly

I would love to see Christmas at the Fort again!

Fortunately, you've chosen times when many fiends are at the fort. I don't have first hand experience but others on here have been the recipients of the kindness of the fiend family. If you can get yourself down there I feel quite certain one of them will be around to help you get backed in and set up. There are several threads where a fiend has come to the rescue.

Last trip, I precooked and froze several meals for reheating in the crockpot (with a liner). It was so nice to return to the camper with dinner mostly done and cleanup was a breeze.....not to mention the savings.

Just go, have fun and make memories!

I'm in the Raleigh area of NC, so if you get up here give me a shout!

  2. I would do it in a heartbeat! I pulled our hybrid coming home from The Fort for the first time in January. It wasn't bad at all. I had thought about taking myself to the lake a few weeks ago when hubby had to work. Then it dawned on me....my Edge won't tow it...I need his truck to pull the camper.

    Bummer.

I've even considered hauling it back to The Fort for WWW '14, but I think I can get a flight for about half. Wish I were going!

  3. Great pics! I love the campground. It looks so peaceful. Maybe some of you that have made these delicious dishes wouldn't mind sharing the recipes? Us northerners don't know how to make sausage and gravy like southerners do.

I agree....I'm always looking for a new crock pot recipe. Nothing better than coming back to the camper after a day in the parks to a cooked dinner!

  4. Thanks for the update! I've been to Nassau once and that day I decided if we ever cruised there again we would NOT get off the ship. We pulled the boys out of school for that trip because we had a very small window when we could travel with my dad so we took the "Historical" tour to do something educational. We spent the next 4 hours riding around in a hot bus waving at the drivers friends and hearing him say "This is how we do the ghetto on Nassau". There were 2 interesting stops, but I have never been so glad to get back on a ship!

I totally understand why you are willing to spend the money.....smiles like that are priceless.
