We flew into LA, spent a couple of days at Disneyland plus a day for Hollywood/Warner Bros tour. Then we drove inland, first to Sequoia/King’s Canyon which was beautiful. Then we headed north to Yosemite which was phenomenal. Those national parks were places I will never forget. From Yosemite we drove over to San Francisco. We made our base in Half Moon Bay, just south of SF and from there did day trips to SF, Monterey, 17-mile drive, going down the coast as far as Big Sur. We flew home from San Francisco.
Our trip was 12 days total, us and the three kids in a Ford Expedition. I honestly felt the drives were manageable and we didn’t overdue it. True, we didn’t really get to do anything in depth but we were able to experience the huge variety that California has to offer.
I’m thinking flying into one city and out of another may be the way to go. I’m going to look at the places you mentioned.

Not normally in California...
Here's LA. F. & C.
78 60 June 26 16 83 64 July 28 18 84 64 August 29 18 Lived there for 3 years, San Diego, I didn't want to leave, but Linda won.😁 That's where our DIS addiction started.
I’ll have to look at the temperatures more. Summer would give us more time but we don’t get out of school until June 18th or so.

Four seasons and budget board 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

agreed. So far I am up to 12 days spent visiting California and still have plenty more to go back for.
I think making a huge master list and then plotting it on a map and deciding on one small area is how we will have to handle it.

You don't have enough time..San Diego Zoo, Carmel by the Sea, Hearst Castle, Napa Valley, Gilroy (Garlic Capital)....
I know!! 10 days is too short but probably the most we can squeeze in. Summer is too hot for me and I don’t want To deal with too much make up work at school 😂

Our plan (pending vacation approval) Is for about 10 days out in California over Easter next year. I want to spend 4 days at Disneyland because we want to see everything (rides, shows, street entertainment, fireworks etc). Realistically we will probably never go back to DL so I want to see it all.
What else would you suggest to see/do out there? I want to see the Golden Gate Bridge and the full house house. And we want to see the pretty side of California redwoods, the coast, etc.

Jason wasn’t any help to me, I got up with him about 6 months before and he told me no problems he could get more days for me. I sent him a text two months before my trip and he didn’t even know who I was. About a month before the trip I called Disney checking on something else, I told the agent that I was looking for more days at the Fort the agent got me one more day. I couldn’t get it because I had a agent. Jason never did find me any extra days.
Welcome to the forum. It’s a shame however your first post is on a post from last year and it is speaking negatively of a fellow member who plenty of us have used and have had positive experiences with.

$55 for 3.5 hours of babysitting and a meal and activities seems very un-Di$ney like. I'm surprised.
Right? Seems cheap. I pay $10 an hour if it’s 1 kid that’s being babysat and $15 if both my kids need to be watched

They are super dangerous and I’m surprised they are allowing kids as young as 4! Elizabeth has swimming flippers that can hook together to look like a fin, and she uses them while wearing a life jacket and us practically on top of her andddd she can swim (but not tall enough to touch in most “shallow ends”).

I hate to say it but I wonder if this is the beginning of the end for the fort? They could make way more money with 6 rooms stacked on each other than 1 campsite 👎🏻

I would love to see a list of the occupancy rates, and a comparison of costs per unit (site) between the Fort and the various resorts.
To me, it would seem like the Fort is a huge $$$ maker.
Not a lot to air condition compared to the resort rooms and common areas.
Not as much cleaning or even upkeep. Yeah the Fort has a lot of grounds to maintain. but so do most of the resorts, and they are a lot more "detailed" than the Fort with a quick mow and go.
Sure some sites suck down the electricity with their 10,000 watts of lighting, but most hotel guest leave every light and the TV on when they leave the room for the day, plus all the electricity to keep the rest of the building running,
That would be interesting to see a comparison of a resort vs the fort on who makes the most.

We REALLY enjoyed that tour.
They said they enjoyed it more than the keys to the kingdom tour. 8 hours was just a bit much plus sometimes (for us at least) it was better to wonder about the backstage magic than see it.

Does my car get an oil change? Car wash? Do they turn it on and cool it off? For preferred parking prices I want to drive it down Main Street 😂

Was lunch included in that particular tour?
When we took the Keys to the Kingdom tour, it included lunch at Columbia Harbour House.
No, it was only from 8-11 but they did get a bottle of water!

Great to hear! Do you know the name of their tour guide?
TCD
Jordan (they think from buffalo, ny). They said he was really good and made it even better.

Last week my parents were in Disney World and they took the Walt Disney: Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour. It was a 3 hour tour and was $50 (before their AP discount ). They both really enjoyed it and have talked about it a ton. The guide took them Haunted Manison, Small World and Carousel of Progress. They had head sets and he talked the whole time pointing out different things on the rides and while walking down Main Street, etc. they said they highly recommend it.

I’m in. And second.
I’m glad to know that second is still the number one spot. Lol.
Look forward to reading more!
As my children say “first is the worst, second is the best” or at least that’s what they say when they lose 😂

If only there were a person to fight these battles for you.
My person (ahem *jason the man* ) dealt with this for me and got us on property and saved me a lot of money since we then didn’t have to rent a car or pay parking.

Just looked at the floor plan ...I think our friends have this, but theirs is a TT. I think you told me you were looking at a 5th wheel?
Original thought was TT, then 5th wheel and now back to TT. The layout really looks like it would work. We are going to check out another camping show on 3/2 and probably make an official decision then. Unfortunately we have to widen our driveway and expanded the apron to make it fit.

We think this is the camper for us, a keystone cougar 34tsb. Anyone have any feed back on that camper or keystone in general?

Everyone posts about the convertible and I thought it looked great until I remembered Adam would probably be squished in the back and Elizabeth will probably still be in a car seat making it even tighter. I need to bring a baby sitter so we can ditch the kids and brian and I could rent one 😂
good to hear about the temperatures. My California knowledge is about as close to zero as you can get 😂
