  1. Remember Auburn calls themselves the Tigers and their Mascot is an Eagle.   This can get confusing after a while.    Alabama is doing well and we shall see how they do against Western Carolina and Auburn against Samford this week.  Then comes the big match Alabama vs Alabama at Alabama.    Roll Tide   :yay:

  2. We saw where Georgia is favored to beat Auburn.  I hope not.  Although I am a Bama Fan (Alumni) I pull for hubby's team when they are not playing us.   And for Alabama to be favored to win is something I did not expect and did not want to see.  I don't like having a target on our backs.  Ms. State is going to be a tough one for the Tide.  I guess we shall all wait til the fat lady sings....and I have not sung yet.

  3. As dh said above our Savannah is very protective of all of us.  She will bark at anyone who comes in and will try to run up to them.  Those who know her well now know that she is running to them to be petted.  She has even barked at me until I say something to her, then she knows it is me.  Anyone who will just stop and let her come to them will find a dog with a wagging tail waiting to be petted.  She loves people.  Blakes nurse is terrified of her and refuses to try and get to know her.  Even if I am holding Savannah she will not get close to her.  I want her to get over her fear but I don't thank that is going to happen.

When Ashley (Ken talked about her above) got use to Savannah she would tell all her other family members how she was feeding her and not be afraid of her because she would take care of the dog when they are around.  Ha!  While on vacation this past summer, Savannah went through a period of not wanting to eat and we were really worried about her.   After 2 days of that Ashley said : "Nana Svannah is o.k. now I got her to eat."  When asked how she said "I just put her food in my hand and she ate it all".   She had our dog thoroughly spoiled by the time we were home from vacation.   Savannah would follow her around everywhere.

I think some people never get past their fear of dogs.  But hopefully in time your daughter will get over her fear so she can enjoy being around them and maybe even having one of her own.

  4. I was actually surprised that we won in OT.  I did not think we would do it.  I am so glad I was wrong this time.  As for the refs...they made some bad calls against Alabama too.  They missed some that should have been called also.  Perhaps the announceers were right when saying the refs do not want to be the reason the game goes one way or the other.   All in all, I think they did as good a job as any.  I would not want their job.  They could not pay me enough to do it.  So LSU is gone now we face the hardest yet...Mississippi State.  That is one I will watch with my cardiologist.  Actually I may not need him as it will probably not be a close game.  Unless we play better than we have the last few weeks, Ms will have an easy win.  On to next week against Ms. State and Auburn facing Georgia.  Both should be good games.

  5. It was not only Oregon.  Alabama won and dropped down in the polls.   As all of you know I am a big Alabama supporter (and Alumni) but I do not expect our team to beat Ms. State & probably not Auburn.  The one game they lost was not really a loss as they gave that game away.  It was as though Saban had all 9th graders on the team or was using the cheerleaders.  I will support them and love them but the way they are playing is not going to get them through to the end without some losses.  They have the potential to win them all but they won't.

There I have spoken.......let's hope I am wrong....it will be a first.

  6. Lou, I told you to stop picking on all us old floks with young kids who use those blowups.  Some of them are actually cute and I enjoy them.  But I also enjoy all the millions of lights strung up every where.  Last year we did not even got all of ours up.  We only have about 30+ not to mention the trees, lights, signs, etc.   I need to get a huge "LOU" to stand in front of our RV.  That would bring in a lot of visitors.

Maybe I shouldn't....we have a lot of folks with cameras already taking pictures at all times of the night at our site.    :wheelchair:  :mh1:

  7. I have been checking out all the campsites on this machine and the I Pad.  All of you know we have been to the Fort at least 35+ times but I still have a question.    You all also know we have a lot of decorations to put up on our site and we have the 38' RV with 3 slides and a 12' trailer.  So we do need one of the biggest sites they have.  Ken thinks the 1200 loop would meet our needs, especially 1209 & I can't remember the other one.

We like having a street behind our site because it makes decorating the back of the site much easier.

    Now for my question:

Which site would give us a street behind the site and plenty of room on either side of the RV?

Some of the corner sites are great for decorating but not always the best for 39 footer and trailer.

Thanks for any suggestions.   You fiends are the best.

  8. Yep....Aggies were taken down.    And Alabama did a great job.  Now I know Alabama is a good team but the way Texas played today made us look even better.  59-0.  WOW......Now let's hope we can keep on doing this...especially against Miss. State and LSU.   Maybe our boys will have more confidence with the win today.   Saban sure looked happier.   I could not take another game like the one last week.  I know that a win is a win but a game like that needs a cardiologist sitting with me.  LOL

  9. Shawnee is great.  Doing well in school and enjoying all the pep rallys and community outings.  We went to court on July 2nd to get guardianship of him.  Even though we have adopted him we still had to get guardianship since he will be unable to take care of all his needs. He was so cute in the court room.  As we were leaving he looked up at the Judge and said "Have a safe trip".  (He knew we were leaving the next day for Tn.)  She smiled and said "You have a safe trip too Shawnee".  Our son is a flirt and knows how to work people.  LOL

Kimberly is always happy and enjoys life to the fullest.  She is in a different school this year from Shawnee.  They did not have a class for her in his high school.  And her football team beat his team....well not beat...they slaughtered them.  LOL

Blake is happy and laughs a lot.  He is so adorable.

We are getting excited about our December trip to the Fort.  We were not too sure we would make it this year but we have worked hard to make sure we have the funds to do so.  Still hard but the kids are looking forward to it (just as we are).  Shawnee makes a list every day of what he thinks we need to do there.....which always includes food.  (We have to write the list since he can't write but he tells us what to put on it.)

We had to register him for the draft in June.  In the guardianship papers it states he can not vote and he can not carry a gun yet we had to register him.   Ken said if they wanted him, he would take him in and tell them Shawnee wants to be a 5 star general.  LOL  Sometimes I wonder about this great country we live in.

Got to run and start the baby's feeding.   Talk more later.   :wave1:

  10. We usually go once every Christmas season.  DW is the one who eats the ribs.  I get one and some chicken, along with the potatoers and corn.  Shawnee can go through several loaves of cornbread as well as maybe a rib and several helpings of potatoes and beans.  Kimberly usually waits for the strawberry shortcake and takes more than her share.  We all take in a load of diet cokes and lemonade.  I turned into the family ogre by turning down a chance to go on stage last year.  Unlike Maya, I have no regrets, except for the glares from DW.  It's a fun show and the food is good, well worth a visit if you haven't been ...or even if you have been before.

  11. WOW.....so many men fighting over the Princess Kimberly.  She is now truly spoiled.  LOL   Yet, she remains the sweet, happy, singing Princess she has always been.  I honestly can not imagine my life without her in it......and Shawnee and now Blake.  We are so blessed.  And we are doubly blessed to have friends like the fiends.  We love you guys.

  12. Our big man is such a joy to us.  No one believed he would be doing the things he does today....no one except me.  I knew the first time I held that tiny little boy that he would do great things.  He has never disappointed me.   And he does keep me (and Ken) on our toes for sure.   We have to make lists several times a day as he loves to hand us paper and pen and say "we need to make a list" and then he proceeds to tell us what to put on the list.  He already has his list made for the December trip to WDW and of course the one for our July trip to Pigeon Forge/gatlinburg.  His 2nd favorite thing is to ask: "Who drives the Motor Home?"   Then he says "Take both keys?".  Then he tells me he will ride with mama in the white van and Kimberly will ride in the RV with daddy.

He helps us cook brownies, cookies, corn bread, pancakes and anything else he might want.  When our granddaughter, Darby, was here for Spring Break he had her baking every day all day.   We had supcakes and brownies coming out of our ears.  But they had a good time and she is very patient with him.

He was honored at the end of the year for making the A B Honor roll first semester.  They do not list the ones for 2nd semester...not sure why.

Of course Kimberly just sits in her wheel chair and laughs at him and us.  She enjoys life. She was student of the month for May and was honored at a special breakfast.  When her teacher introduced her she said that Kimberly was actually her student of the year. We are all going to miss that school next year.  They all loved Kimberly so much and she loved them.

Time to get the dog to bed and I will lie down and watch TV while I am on night duty with the little man.  Nite nite everyone.

  13. Yes, I still live here......I hate allergies and the past 2+ years have been the worst.  No break at all...not even with the snow.  Then I managed to get a horrible cold that made every muscle in my stomach and chest hurt so bad I could hardly move.  Then I started itching..from knees to neck....that went on for 3 months so I finally went to see my doctor.  He gave me 2 shots and a Rx cream for the affected areas and it is almost all cleared up now.  He, nor I, knows what caused it.   There is never a dull moment around here.

Last Sunday morning around 1 am our little baby's feeding tube came out (on it's on) and it is the type that only a surgeon can put in and take out......well it came out without any help from a surgeon.  So off to the ER we went.  Baby and I were there for more than 8 hours waiting for a replacement tube like the one he had.  There was not one to be found anywhere.  So they put in a McKey G Tube, which I love because I have changed those things out hundreds of times.  Then they sent us home.  We called his surgeon on Monday and he said to leave that one in and they were ordering a back up one in case that one leaks, etc.  Well, in the wee hours of Monday morning he had that one out.  I immediately popped it back in and put a little more water in the baloon than the surgeon had done and it is working fine.  He was laughing at me the whole time.   He is such a cutie.

We are still waiting for word about our adoption of the little one.  We have been jumping through hoops getting everything the State needs.....mostly due to our ages.  Hoping for a positive answer soon.   Prayers are much appreciated.

Kimberly completed middle school last month and will be moving to high school next year.  However, she and Shawnee will be in different schools due to her complex issues and there is no class for her with Shawnee.

We have completed all the paperwork and evaluations for our guardianship of Shawnee.  Since he turned 18 yesterday we had to

get legal guardianship of him since he will be unable to handle his own affairs.  Just waiting now for the Court Date.

We are all enjoying our new dog.  She is so sweet and loveable and very smart.  I can not belive how smart she is.  She is asleep under my computer desk right now.  When I head for the bedroom she will get under my bed, in her bed, and be there all night.  She also thinks she is a guard dog as she barks at everyone who comes to the door or in the house.  So, I have to put her in time out.  :jumpforjoy

I guess that pretty well sums up my life for the past few months.  I need a vacation bad.     :wheelchair:  ::)
