  1. It's not. :banghead: We're about to be washed off the continental US. Ever since I posted that, we've been rained out. Seems like it'll be a March/April project if it doesn't stop anytime soon.
  2. Spec and I are "foodies". We usually hit the signature dining at least every other night because we love the restaurants. Between the food at our favorites, and the fort, it's what draws us back again and again.
  3. I agree. It's a must do on my trip to AK. Right after I check out the vet action at RPW. :)
  4. FWIW: I'm another NOT AGAIN ToT rider. Specularius managed to talk me on it once after 15 years. Not. Again.
  5. Oh I'm going to cry. They cancelled it? The kids (14 and 7) love to get me in the teacup and spin, spin, spin! The greener they can make Mom, the louder they cackle. I thought I was getting a break.
  6. We're getting passes in February. I've looked a bit at the Tables of Wonderland but we're still on the fence. Specularius relies on me to do the reservations, special events and inner-Park related things. He keeps up with the Fort and Refurbs. We're going to average, probably 30 days in park on these passes. Should we opt for the dining plan instead? I can't remember what we did a few years back. Usually we opt to go without the dining because we end up with a boat load of snacks and counter service.
  7. I see you neglected to mention our happy jaunt to the Epcot gates because you wanted to avoid the MK traffic. :hah: :hugsmiley:
  8. That name is a misnomer. I declare shenanigans somewhere. Pronounced Arseno. But they live in the far North East corner of Louisiana. That is all very rural, somewhat poor farming community. His grandfather was a farmer. How on earth a Cajun name landed there, I haven't a clue.
  9. Native Louisiana Redneck…. with a strong professional interest in hazardous materials. (Family business is a speciality chemicals company.)
  10. I just bought purple, green, gold lights for our camper to decorate for Mardi Gras…. I can see now, I'm going to have to put closed top fire pit on the "Need" list.
  11. Great report. I knew a few were sick, but not the extent. Glad all feels somewhat better. I spent all day in bed sleeping today. Glad I did and didn't jump back into normalcy this morning after the kids went back to school. Maybe I slept off whatever is lurking since we got home. We also hung around the beach for fireworks. It was our first NYE at the fort. We already have reservations for 13/14. A great experience.
  12. Love the pictures. Can't wait until we get there. I might be readjusting our lunches to keep hitting BOG.
  13. I love the special parades. I remember the year that they introduced the Electrical Parade again. We were going to miss it by just a few weeks. I was heartbroken. It was the only thing I remembered from our very first trips when I was a little girl. It's pure nostalgia, second to the water parade. And only second because as far as I know, they never removed the water parade so there wasn't anything to miss. I was thrilled when they made it a permanent feature again. Best thing they've done in many years. My second favorite parade is the Halloween parade.
  14. Also, we live very rurally with a long winding driveway. No trick-treaters, no close drive-bys. We don't entertain large parties. I live voraciously through decorating our fort campground. We decorate Christmas because those are lights you can see from the road. You miss so many tiny details in Halloween. Busted bird cages with ravens. Spooky lanterns. The lettering on headstones. Yeah… I love camping during Halloween. It's my favorite time. My inner-Martha comes out. :)
  15. Carol, I like the blow-ups. Some are awesome and we have a couple black cat blow-ups, as well as the mickey pumpkin head. But there is something about traditional Halloween that tugs at my heart. :)
  16. We haven't been to the fort for halloween for the last three years. But I had the fog bubbles and 25 carved pumpkins. I was Martha Stewart'd out. Yes I start early. I'll be adding to the pumpkins this year. I'm already patrolling ideas for the campground. I thought about sitting on top of this but if somebody else can bring the hitchhiking ghosts to life, I'd be just as excited. I think I'm going to do the dancing ghosts, using two or three dresses and a few masculine forms. I'll give the hitchhikers a try. Tentatively I'll use this thread to document my Halloween trials and errors. :D http:
  17. Is that what was going on? We checked in on the 27th. For some reason I couldn't extend our stay but I could make a new reservation. Checked out/back in on the 31st. I didn't think anything of it but I had to set a PIN. WTF? I didn't get that three days before. Checking out on Wednesday, I was told to tap my key to the Mickey head. WTF x2? I'm used to coming back to minor changes. I'm not used to having an entire system change midstay. LOL
  18. I had the Chinese chicken wrap at Earl of Sandwich a couple days ago. It was very good. Light on the ginger soy dressing, and heavy on the greens. It's something I'd eat here at home. :)
